It's not surprising that blacksmith's would charge more for orbs to make this and the other new level 365 weapons because they want to take advantage of the economy while they can, but I would expect that 200-500G per orb is a reasonable price. As an alchemist I happened to have a bunch of truegold in the bank, along with the other mats and had a BS offer to make this for 150 per orb. I gave him 200 per because 1000 gold is more than fair for this. I paid 2000G plus mats for my 光鑄源質錘, which I still think was fair. Some have asked for as much as 1000G per orb and they might be able to get it, but I was happy that for 3000G I was able to get both my healing and feral weapons to tide me over until something better drops from the firelands. I don't expect to have the 30-40K to pay for the BOE drops, so this will do fine until something better drops.

Many people will be able to get at least part of the materials themselves or through friends.
Many more don't have tens of thousands of gold and nothing to spend it on (not everyone's been playing for years and has been farming gold all that time).

yup. Got a 525 blacksmith. Have made a bit of gold selling belt buckles and rods, the odd piece of pvp gear, and that's about it.
Unlocking the vendors for these plans is the next project. Don't look forward to the 520 more tokens I need, tbh, at 20 or so a day in a zone I hate.

Now before you downgrade me, realise that I know 2h Enhancement isn't viable, and that Warriors need STR over AGIL, but wouldn't it look sweet to have a shammy cracking this over someones head with a storm strike, or to see an arms warrior bladespinning this thing?

This would be a great weapon for a hunter just reaching 85 and wanting to get into Raiding. How ever it is not cheap.
The lowest I've seen it on the AH is 8.5k, the most was 21k.
Be faster to farm the mats your self and find a blacksmith with 5 chaos orbs who's willing to make it for you, then to get it off the AH.

No, enchants will NOT necessarily bind the item to the enchanter. Remember, enchanters enchant items for other people directly via the Trade window. There's no bind on enchant there, is there?

Usually we don't bother enchanting weapons or armor we're going to auction because people won't pay the extra money for an enchant they may not want. Sure, agility if a hunter buys the harvester ... but suppose it's someone else who wants another attribute?

Now that patch 3.2 has been out for some time and the better 378 and some, in the 390's have replaced many of these types of lower level weap ons, prices have dropped significantly, rangIng from 5k to 7k (on my server). This makes it a much better investment for newly dinged 85 hunter, slap on the 130 Agi enchant and this will carry you into heroics and eventually a decent upgrade.

Even after the upgrade, this is still one of the best looking hunter weapons, so even after a nice weapon upgrade, it will still continue to bue a useful transmog item prolonging its usefulness for some time, which makes the still pricey weapon a good option if you have the cash.

I am still somewhat upset with Blizzard, for providing the best weapon enchant for hunters limited to two-handers thus eliminating the beauty of a duel wielding, ranged death machine, but for now the grim reaper will have to do.

Just crafted this to use for xmog on my warlock given the 5.2 changes that allow staff > polearm...can't use it.
Need to be able to equip the item to use for xmog which is bull#$%^.
