Badges are way easier to get than getting a possible drop off of nightbane. It's fairly easy to get 10 badges in 1 day. A drop off nightbane is only a chance. This shield is a bit disappointing considering Spellbreakers Buckler (Quest reward) or Silvermoon Crest Shield (Murmur drop) are much easier to get. The graphic is nice though. :P

It's a shame that this boss which I have not fought but I hear is pretty difficult drops a shield that looks much better than yet has worse stats for a healer! Triptych is won from the Chess event.

Actually, this is a great shield for resto shammys. The likely shield before this one would be Crystal Pulse Shield, which is in the AH frequently. Comparing the two, the Dragonheart gives these changes:

+1161 armor - handy for easily handling a hit when healing AoE pulls and a mob or two peels off.

+39 block - not a huge stat for resto shammys, but again, nice mitigation if you need it after a mob breaks free.

Those are both minimal considerations, since by the time you get this, you should have tanks that hold aggro well, and know how not to pull aggro onto yourself.

The real considerations are:

+19 STA - 190 extra health, nice for the AoE common in raid instances

-3 INT - losing INT is never fun, but 45 mana isn't brutal and it's made up by...

+1MP/5 - the biggest stat for a resto shammy until they have about 400 MP/5 unbuffed.

-13 heal - again a stinger, but its fairly minimal.

If you have plenty of MP/5 and +heal with your other gear, then the dragonheart is the way to go. If you haven't hit +1300 heal yet, then maybe the crystal pulse shield might be better for you, for a while.

As far as the vanity factor goes, this is one of the coolest looking shields in the game - the dragon head has a constant blue mist coming out of it, and it periodically breathes fire as well. :D

no, thats elemental shaman, a healer would go for spirit and int as well as the mp5, there are a lot more sheilds that offer 60 + healing rather than this

If not for the armor increase I would have no trouble saying that Netherwing Defender's Shield is still the best pally (shaman if your savy) designed tanking shield.

Even with the extra armor and block value I would still be very hard pressed to say it is better. The spell crit is marginal in the tanking sense as almost no item has defense or defensive skills combined with spell crit (think there are bracers that might... don't think so though) so the chance of spell crit are slim and aside from judgement of righteousness and maybe exorcism/holy wrath there is not any other benefits aside from heals with illumination.

It looks sexy as hell but it is more a nuker shaman shield or grinding paladin shield.

Everyone running a Heroic dungeon will get Badge of Justice, it's up to you if you wanna spend it on some kick-ass shield. So it doesn't maater if you're a paladin or shamman anyway! :D

(I bet people will still be arguing about for what class this is, even after my and many simular posts)

Edit: forgot to say: this shield is infact a drop where you will be rolling on, sry for that. Go for the Mazthoril Honor Shield from the Badges I mentioned, it's almost the same, including craphics

This is a Protection Paladin tanking shield, or Holy Paladin/Elemental Shaman Spell Damage Shield.

It has Stam/Int/Mp5/damage+healing and now better armor compared to Mazthoril Honor Shield as of 2.10 patch, ideal stats for a Tankadin (minus +defense).

This is also good for an Elemental Shaman because of the increased stats and mp5 over spell critical rating (which isn't AS important for longevity given the nerf to Elemental Focus).

Priority wise, there isn't really any. It lacks defense and other tanking stats for a Tankadin, and lacks spell crit for Holy Paladins and Elemental Shamans. And for healing, Holy Paladins and Restoration Shamans would be better off with the Chess Event shield. So its really up to whoever wants it.

This has slightly better stats (armor, block, int, sta) than the heroic badge reward shield, but most elemental shamans rather take spell crit over mp5. Bit more suited for a pally i guess, but it's nice one to have around while collecting the required badges.

I got this shield, have tanked every boss in kara with it. and I'm the paladin MAIN TANK, of our guild. It's great since I dont need more def rating, just need to stack some more block rating. The extra intellect and spell dmg does wonders for your threat. So anyone who dont believe me just come talk to me ingame, Cashten, Human Paladin, Outland, Alliance, EU. Guild "Team Zero".
