Often referred to as the "Tier 2.5" Warrior set, the Conqueror's Battlegear is suited more towards DPS Warriors than tanks, due to its relatively low +Defense score and average +Stamina bonus, but strong bonuses to Agility and Strength. While it does make decent off-tank gear, especially during the heat of battle when a Warrior is needed to pick up a tanking position and is unable to change gear, this is still best suited for those in the DPS role.

The quest items needed to obtain this gear starts with the fourth required boss in AQ40, Princess Huhuran (Viscidus, an optional boss, drops them too). She drops the Qiraji Bindings of Dominance, which can be turned in for either the boots or shoulders. Most Warriors I have seen opt for the shoulders first for the 1% to Hit bonus. The helm quest item drops off of Emperor Vek'nilash, the quest items for the leggings drops from Ouro, and the chestpiece quest item comes from C'Thun.

In total, the complete set will provide almost a +5% bonus to crit and +274 Attack Power.

For those who are looking for matching items to complete the look of the set, look for the Gauntlets of Annihilation (from C'Thun), the Royal Qiraji Belt (from Twin Emps), and the Hive Defiler Wristguards (from Huhuran).

One comment: In my eyes this is superior to Warlords Battlegear.

Set gives:
137 strength
96 Agility (almost +5 critt!)
140 Stamina
+24 Def.

With just 5 pieces this is way better than Warlords Battlegear who has 6 items in set.

But i wouldent switch it out with might or wrath when i tank.
Bonus from those sets are better for tanking.

Maby it will come more pieces for this set later. Its still 3 more spots to cover compared to tier 1 and 2. I just love Conqueror :D

Judging by the item level, the final boss from AQ40(C'thun) looks indeed harder than Nefarian.

Nefarian best items - ilvl 83
C'thun - ilvl 88

To get this chest piece, you need a "Carapace of the old god", which of course drops from C'thun.

this set is definately a good warrior DPS set. However, the difference in armor from wrath to this won't give enough damage mitigation to outweigh the added defence from wrath. A warrior in full wrath will be a better tank tha one with 5/5 conqueror. A warrior in conquerer will wtfpwnzor in PvP and DPSing on raids

I've looked at the Set stats, and done the comparisons. For a person who's played a Warrior as both Fury and Arms, this set is awesome to say the least. I'm planning on augmenting it with the Wrath Belt, Bracers, and Gauntlets for the +30 boost to attack power set bonus.

Only Question I have is what Mobs need to be killed to gain faction with the Brood of Nozdormu? What do the reputation quests entail?

You guys have to look at more than just Defense...Just a few points I want to make...

A) You can fill in any non-Conqueror's pieces with Wrath. So don't get all full-set OCD on me. That's just stupid.

B) I'm not comparing the other Conqueror's Items vs. Wrath, but at least for tanking, the Breastplate is better. Here's why...

Breasplate of Wrath
---------------------------

857 Armor
+17 Strength
+40 Stamina
+11 Defense
(It has resistances too, but I'm not counting those)

857 Armor = 2.43% Armor Mitigation (8000 Armor Base).......This means that assuming you have 8000 armor before you add the Breastplate, you will gain 2.43% melee damage reduction.

+17 Strength = 0.77 extra damage blocked. Nothing very spectacular here. But it's still something to consider. It also ups your DPS, which helps with aggro, but I'm not counting that.

+40 Stamina = 400 Health. Pretty self-explanitory.

+11 Defense = 0.44% chance to Block, 0.44% chance to Parry, and 0.44% chance to Dodge. These add up nicely, which is part of the reason that people love Defense.

WRATH TOTAL:
- 400 Health
- 2.43% Armor Damage Reduction
- 0.77 Extra Damage Blocked on Each Block
- 0.44% Added Chance to Block
- 0.88% Added Chance to Completely Avoid Damage

Conqueror's Breasplate
---------------------------

985 Armor
+34 Strength
+24 Agility
+38 Stamina
+6 Defense

985 Armor = 2.77% Armor Damage Reduction (8000 Armor Base). Like the Wrath Breasplate, this means that if you already have 8000 Armor, and you're just adding the Breastplate on, that you will gain 2.77% in melee damage reduction.

+34 Strength = 1.55 Damage extra blocked on each block. Again, not very spectacular. The main benefit is that it adds to your DPS, which helps aggro, but again, I won't get into that.

+24 Agility = 48 Armor (0.14% Melee Damage Reduction, again with an 8000 Armor base), and 1.2% extra chance to Dodge. Also adds to Crit, which helps with DPS, but I won't get into that.

+38 Stamina = 380 Health. Pretty self-explanitory.

+6 Defense = 0.24% Added Chance to Block, 0.24% Added Chance to Dodge, and 0.24% Added Chance to Parry.

CONQUEROR'S TOTAL:
- 380 Health
- 2.81% Armor Damage Reduction (NOTE: This number is not precicely correct, because of diminishing returns. However, it should only diferr by a very small fraction, therefore for this comparison it remains accurate)
- 1.55 Extra Damage Blocked on Each Block.
- 0.24% Added Chance to Block
- 1.68% Chance to Completely Avoid Damage (1.44% Dodge + 0.24% Parry)

COMPARISON (Wrath Listed First, then Conqueror's)
-------------------------------------------------------

- 400 Health vs. 380 Health
- 2.43% Armor Reduction vs. 2.81% Armor Reduction
- 0.77 Extra Blocked vs. 1.55 Extra Blocked
- 0.44% Chance to Block vs. 0.24% Chance to Block
- 0.88% Chance to Completely Avoid Damage vs. 1.68% Chance to Completely Avoid Damage.

The only advantages Wrath has over Conqueror's is 20 Health and 0.20% chance to Block; both of which are extremely arbitrary amounts. Yet not only does Conqueror's reduce more damage with Armor, but boasts a 0.80% higher chance to completely avoid damage. In addition, the added DPS (which is not calculated into these stats) helps with aggro control.

Which very close, Conqueror's is simply the better tanking piece, at least for Breastplates.

Very good post but you forgot 1 thing. If you have full wrath you get the 8 piece bonus---4% chance to parry after a block.This is not huge but I think it makes up the difference.So the conquerors BP is better unless you use the whole wrath set.As a tank I'll keep the full wrath.I believe it is blizzards intention to keep wrath as the best tank gear and conqueror for the fury /arms warriors. I also don't like the conqueror set bonuses for a tank so on both counts I'll stick with wrath. After the fury/arms warriors get their conqueror gear I'll bid on it as a back-up set.

I agree with the above poster, Bacura....Wrath is a very easy set to get. BWL takes alittle adjustment to get used to it, but after you spend a month or two (pending on your guilds raid schedule) the bosses become bags of epics. I'm shocked to hear that you havent gotten your bracers yet, it seems thats all we get from Razor

with the wrath set you have a ton oh hp, thats what makes it soo good and why it is the best tank set. might set bonuses are awsome but the stats on might are much lower. the conqueror's set seems to be the kind of set to wear when your might have to tank but you want to dps, or just mix it with other gear for full tank or full dps.

So.... You're saying that VALOR is better than this? LMMFAO! This has more armor, strength, stamina, and agility in 5 pieces than Valor does in all 8.

Though I do have a question for you. Do you think it would be a better set then, if we got rid of the "Defense" and put in +1% to Dodge, +1% to Parry, and -1% to be Critted? Would it be better then?

As far as looks go I think this set looks better than Wrath. I'd rather have those big mecha-style things on my shoulders than freaking shovels on my head. Of course there's no way it can compare to the absolute sexiness of Might, but judging by what the new Mage armour looks like from the Necropolis, I think the whole style of ALL sets from there is just going to completely blow everything else out of the water.

On the other hand, what the $%^& is with the Warrior and Paladin sets looking identical save colour scheme? That's the cheapest thing Blizzard's done in ages, and they're always cheap anyway. This is just crap. Ugh...

HOLY ^&*!WEll the agi bonus is good but its not for fury warriors because THey DONT NEEd defense skill!WE need crit chance& agility+ mass strenght less stamina!Might and Wrath is CRAP..the only warrior set what can be useful is the Valor!(maybe the epic pvp gear but it looks gay:S).....+15 agi on weapons +15 agi on gloves agi on all items!

PvE Fury/Arms, Arm/Fury Warriors Dream

PvP - Almost PERFECT
Only negative is all that Agility, like 96, will get your crit rate up, but your fellow Warriors are REALLY gonna like the extra Dodge your Getting for OVERPWN, funny tho...its almost balanced out by the +Defense which is Battlegear of Might Defense almost with Better than Wrath or Rank 12-13 Plate Stats.

Massive HP too.

985 AC...there should be no dispute as to whether or not this is the best gear in the game for warriors. And for all you wrath junkies, keep in mind that this is a 6 piece set. Quit whining, go get this/wrath belt/gloves/bracers and be happy, IMO. This is the most fairly balanced gear I have ever seen. I was starting to think we would always be condemned to wear tank gear, because our epic says it all (quel serrar). This is like Benediction/anathema(shadow/holy) for priests. Whether you are arms, fury or pure protection, this armor damn well better appeal to you as a warrior. I know that I am happy with it.

You need 1 epic part from C'Thun to get this item. Some other reagents are scarabs and idols which are very easy to get (drops in AQ20 and 40)
