So I have an odd story about this piece which might entertain most of you XD.

So about 3 weeks ago a person began to post in trade: WTB Glorious Leggings of the X. 5k, PST

I was like O.O Damn, someone's gonna get lucky soon. But too bad for him, no one had the leggings, and after about a week of relentless posting he upped the price to 10k! At this point I was @_@ Holy mother of all that is worth praising, that's alot of gold for a pair of green pants....

So I ponder about it for only 5 min, then ask him: "If I went out and farmed those for you, would you pay me 15k for them?" his answer was "In a heartbeat" At this point I was sweating...that's ALOT of gold for a simple green drop.

It'd turn out to be anything BUT a simple pile of cash o.O I farmed Dire Maul atleast 80 times on my rogue, finishing the east and west wing from end to end, without a single one dropping. I must have killed thousands and thousands of potential drop mobs, and not 1 drops. 2 weeks of relentless farming I finally tell the guy "Sorry man I give up, keep the gold".

I had at the same time been pondering to xfer my 68 paladin over from another server and make her alliance, and the day after I did it and moved her to my RP server.

As I always do when I break open an old dust collector character, I dust them off, check their bank, their bags, checking their talents, their glyphs, and if they dont have one, write them an RP bio.

But in this one I was in for a surprise O_@

I was checking her bags when I see a pair of pants that has the icon of any other usual leather pants, and i'm like "Great, another pair of soulbound, useless vendor trash quest greens", and without checking the name, left click and drag it onto the world to destroy it, untill I see this pop up on my screen:

"Are you sure that you want to destroy GLORIOUS LEGPLATES OF THE BEAR?"

O.o WTFBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

2 weeks of none stop farming, countless hours during countless late nights, turning down RP after RP, raid after raid, RBG after RBG in order to farm these stupid things, and low and behold, a pair of not yet equipped glorious legplates are sitting in my OLD OLD paladins' bags, I must've picked that **** up like 4 years ago when I was into her, and tanked Dire Maul left and right to level through the irritating 40s o.O.

So you all probably think: "Well grats on the 15k man, gj" But no...As a matter of fact I'm keeping them...These pants are worth MORE than 15000 gold, atleast to an RPer with a char who deserves them ;) Like me ^_^

So I kept them, and I'm now relentlessly farming the BREASTplate instead, actually am running AQ20 and 40 right now trying to get it ^_^ Wish me luck! <3 I'll post a screenshot once I get the set done <3

EDIT: Advice to farming these babies in DM(Works the best for druids, but the very best for rogues): Stealth through all of the mobs in both east and west wing and discover the chest locations. Whenever you find a chest, open/unlock it and check, there's almost ALWAYS 1 or 2 greens in a chest, perhaps more in a locked chest. I am strongly confident when I say that you'll get a bigger chance of jackpot by farming the chests, rather than tedious hours grinding mobs.

So to put it into perspective:

1) Stealth through all mobs and find chest locations
2) Once all chests are opened, double check in corners and behind obstacles where they could be hidden. If none are found, exit the instance and reset
3) Rinse repeat.
3a) If there're no chests, simply reset.

Sure am glad I read the comments! I am almost certain I am on the same realm as that guy with the huge story. I've also been trying to farm these pants with no luck in Dire Maul. Guess I'll have to go elsewhere now.

P.S. The guy has upped the offer to 10k OR 80 Inferno rubies (worth approx 14k on a BAD day)

Wondering if anyone else has farming advise. These things seem to be a real pain with Cataclysm.

Here's my research so far.

These items drop on Kalimdor only. They are iLvl 58, which means there is a chance level 57-59 mobs will drop them. There might be a chance level 56 and 60 drop as well, but looking through a bunch of loot tables, and a half-dozen hours of farming most green drops like this are +/- 1 level from the mob, getting +/- 2 iLevels is very rare.

So the problem is where the heck are level 57-59 mobs on Kalimdor now. The only place I've been able to find is Alcaz Island in Dustwallow Marsh. A full clear usually finds 4-6 level 59 elite mobs (rest are 60-61). It takes about 7 minutes to clear it and respawn happens another 4-5 minutes after. I've seen a few level 58 greens but not a lot (mostly 59-62).

I've tried Sithilus and AQ20, but have only been seeing 55-56 iLvl items in Sithilus and 60+ iLvl in AQ20. Would *LOVE* to get a confirmation someone has seen these drop in either of those locations or another location (Winterspring) since Cataclysm. I'm concerned the loot tables above are polluted with pre-Cata drop info.

Oh. And if you happen to want to sell these to me, make a level 1 alt on US-Tichondrius Alliance and send mail to Spindarella. 15k gold standing offer. I'll figure out the cross-realm logistics too. :)

For those who don't wish to spend insane amounts of time farming for this, remember to every day log onto a toon in silithus, go to the locations of all the rares with a macro that tries to target all the rares in silithus (List here) and kill said rares and loot them. The rares drop a green every time and it takes roughly 20 minutes to kill the roughly 8 that you will actually find, this is faster than 1 green per 2 minutes. You will get lots of enchanting mats as a side note. This works best on low pop servers but silithus is usually deserted on most servers.

After partial runs of all 3 dire maul wings, I figured out that all the mobs in dire maul drop greens in the level 30-40s range after being deleveled, so it is highly unlikely that they will still drop these legplates, the wowhead data is most likely from pre cata.

At the very southern edge of Winterspring are some Rabid Shardtooth bears, and are levels 59-60. I decided to farm some for a while just to see what would happen, and amazingly I got the Glorious Legplates of the Bear off of my 5th kill. Of course I don't expect everyone to get them as quickly as I did, but I did learn that this item can and will drop from these bears. They may be an option in case there is competition farming Alcaz Island or something.

Wanted all the cata farmers to know that I have a confirmed drop from the bugs in Hive Regal in Silithus. Might give a little hope to those who are tired of seeing dead bears.

After 3+ weeks of farming Alcaz Island & the bears, 2 Vanguard chestplates, 1 Glorious chestplate, killing thousands of bears(thousands of pieces of rugged leather), a hydra dropped these pants for me today. I'd almost given up hope on them dropping. One of the worst random drop grinds I had to admit I've ever done, however, one of the most money making ones, as well. Runecloth, rugged leather, greens = jackpot. Oh yeah, can't forget about the pearls in the clams the nagas drop.

I don't know if it was a 59, 60 or 61 hydra, i skinned it after I looted it, but they can drop off them.

Best places for Glorious
Glorious Breastplate (ilvl 61): Level 61 Mobs in Kalimdor (Ahn'Qiraj and Alcaz Island) - use the infinite respawn bug in AQ20 on the level 61 Gladiators for easy Breastplates
Glorious Headdress (ilvl 59): Level 59 Mobs in Kalimdor (Ahn'Qiraj, Alcaz Island, and Winterspring)
Glorious Legplates (ilvl 58): Level 58 Mobs in Kalimdor (None exist) - use level 59 mobs instead
Glorious Gauntlets (ilvl 56) and Glorious Sabatons (ilvl 56): Level 56 Mobs in Kalimdor (None exist reliably) - use level 55 mobs instead
Glorious Belt (ilvl 55) and Glorious Bindings (ilvl 55): Level 55 Mobs in Kalimdor (Sithilus, Un'Goro, Ahn'Qiraj, Winterspring)

The most important thing is that you are killing mobs that are the same level as the item you want. If you are killing a level 55 to get a ilvl 56 piece (or level 54 piece), the chance drops by half. If you're killing a level 55 to get a ilvl 58 piece, the chance is nearly 1/8 of normal.

Obviously, the issue in this case becomes that there are no level 56-58 mobs in Kalimdor anymore. The best bet for the Legplates is to use level 59 mobs and just suffer through the reduced droprate. In this case, that means the 59-60 Rabid bears in Winterspring are one of the best bets along with the 59-61 Hydras on Alcaz. Additionally, the range for greens to drop from mobs is -1/+3. By that I mean that a level 59 Rabid bear is going to drop ilvl 58 up to 62. However, that means that anything level 60 and up -cannot- drop the Glorious Legplates, so if you don't want anything else, you can actually just skip looting the level 60 ones if you'd like (though it may increase the respawn time for the mob if green/blue/epic loot is left on the corpse, so meh).

Edit: Crossed out the last sentence because AoE looting is for the win!

I had them drop for the first time tonight from a Silicate Feeder, after months of farming Ruins of AQ for Warleader's Belt and Exalted Sabatons. I can't seem to get either of those to drop though.

Got the chest piece this morning after farming the gladiators in AQ20 for about 2 hours. I wanted the legs and went to Alcaz Island first and did a clear and nothing. Then I went to winterspring and farmed the bears for about an hour and not a single green. Came back for another Alcaz clear and started killing hydras in the water, and lo and behold, the third hydra I killed dropped these legs. Can confirm they drop from the hydras, although wowhead does not list them as dropping from them.

I contacted a gm about the bears in Winterspring whether or not I was wasting my time they would not tell me anything so after 900 bears and 4 green drops I decided to go back to Alcaz Island and after 20 mins my legs dropped YAY right !

I'm on a very active server (horde on Draenor EU) and I've been looking for these for about 3 months on AH (not one sighting). I was willing to pay about 70k hard earned gold for them, and I've found all the other glorious items (quite cheap) in alliance and in horde auction house.

However yesterday I ate some tracker snacks and figured I could try farming them myself. I farmed the Rabid Shardtooth bears south in Winterspring for about 1 hour and 20 minutes and then the glorious "of the bear" legplates dropped :-)

Now I have to make the DK (or paladin) who's going to use the set.... :-)

Hang in there!

The thing about these legplates in Cata is persistance pays off.

I had a toon mauling rabid bears in Winterspring for 5 weeks, a toon farming AQ20 non-stop (every login I could), and 2 toons farming Alcaz Island for about 6 weeks.

Tonight, Sep. 3rd, 2012 at 11:30 p.m. on Spinebreaker these Legplates FINALLY dropped off of a lvl 59 Strashaz Siren on Alcaz Island...so many clears, so many clears... (I'd have to say 450-500). I got to the little house to the right of the two gnomes whacking it near the gyrocopter and inside were 3 lvl 59s (2 sirens and a warrior),...I said to myself comon, it isn't often a whole building is spawned full of lvl 59s this looks good. To my surprise, BAM Glorious Legplates of Strength! it was an aoe loot on the 2 sirens so I know it was them who dropped the item...CONFIRMED.

I know its a grind, a really really nasty grind, but just keep killing 'cause I thought it would never happen and it did... they are just a green after all.

As of 5.0.4, my visits to Alcaz Island are yielding absolutely no mobs at all. No naga, no hydras, nothing. I'm thinking with the Theramore patch (and the slight change to the Dustwallow Zone), these 59-60 elite mobs may have been removed entirely. That leaves very little in the way of Kalimdor options to farm these. And the reason Dire Maul ogres may have had them in their loot table was before they were nerfed to the lvl 40ish bracket. Dire Maul North was an end-game 60 dungeon prior, and would have doubtlessly housed many lvl 58-60 elites for premium drop rates.

After considering this possibility, I checked up on the Shardtooth Bears in Winterspring. It's confirmed that they still exist in lvl 59-60 ranges on the very border between Frostwhisper Gorge and the southern side of the now-broken bridge. Still, they're not elites, and getting greens off them would be more difficult.

As long ago posted by mssxwpn, "I decided to instead start monitoring The Undermine Journal, and miraculously found a single server that had a pair in the AH for 5k gold. I made the rationalization that transferring over to buy them and transferring back ($50) was better than spending 200 hours farming it." ---------------------
I gave this some thought. I looked up the Undermine Journal and found it to be a very (perhaps not the proper adverb... obsessively) detailed amount of Auction House data. The question was: how updated was the site? After finding some servers that allegedly had the legplates in stock for within my price range, I rolled lvl 1 alts there to check first-hand if the AH had them up. Lo and behold, the data was current. After a 30-minute transfer crossing my fingers, I now own some shiny Glorious Legplates.

I would suggest grabbing these hot pants while you can, if indeed the recent patch has greatly diminished the mobs with them in their loot table.

A note about Alcaz Island, it's only empty of mobs with the characters with which you've completed the Theramore Scenario! If you play with a character that has not done the Theramore Scenario the island is full of mobs and Theramore's not in ruins.

Haven't dropped yet, just sabatons from Slavemaker but had some lvl 58 greens drop from Alcalz's mobs, which is a good sign =)

I finally had these lovely legs drop from a lvl 56 Hive'Regal Slavemaker! It took me countless of hours farming Hive'Regal and I actually got both Vanguard Legplates and Lofty Legguards before even getting them!

I gave up on farming for Glorious Legplates on Alcaz Island, after spending over a 2-2 ½ weeks logging in and out on a toon and clearing it for who knows how many hours. (I don't keep track of time spent on farming.)

From Alcaz Island I've had 2x Glorious Breastplates, 1x Glorious Headdress, 1x Vanguard Breastplate and 1x Vanguard Shield drop, and even if it's quite worthwile farming to get rich at the same time from pearls and cloth as well as the blues and epics that might drop, it's quite limited with mobs which can actually drop the legplates.

I grew tired of basically money farming and getting nowhere closer to the item I wanted.

I farmed Hive'Regal for 3 days, and like I said earlier, I don't keep track on time. Either the items drop or they don't.

This is a summary of the Glorious pieces I've got from the bugs in Hive'Regal in Silithus:
Glorious Shoulder Pads of the Boar -lvl 56 Hive'Regal Slavemaker

After farming for these for 2.5 months (granted somewhat casually), they finally dropped on Alcaz Island today. I had only been there about 5 minutes and was fighting a group of one Siren a warrior and a hydra and it dropped. You can imagine my excitment as this time I was hardly paying attention as opposed to my typical staring at the screen trying to impose my will on every drop. :)

Just got them to drop on Alcaz island. If you're not seeing any mobs, return to Theramore, just outside is a pillar of light with a Bronze Dragon in Human form. Talk to her, she'll send you back in time to before Theramore got blown up and the mobs should be there.

Blizzard introduced two new rares lvl 58, in patch 5.1: Losaj and Qu'rik. Beside Brumeran in Winterspring, these are currently the only level 58 mobs in the whole Kalimdor and bring new hope to win the epic battle against RNG for the Glorious Legplates.

I just gave up :(
After 2 months of farming i opened a tiked and spoke to a gm. and he told me the item still drops but the chance is so low that you could probabily farm 24/7 for 1 year and still drops nothing. Feel so frustrated really :(. I've chest and boots at this point im considering just selling everything cause i can't really see that island anymore, it makes me feel sick everytime i get there. :(

It just dropped for me on Alcaz Island just a moment ago (4/28/2013). I've been killing the Rabid Bears in Winterspring for the past few days, as some of the other farmers before me have suggested but I had no luck. Therefore I decided to check out Alcaz Island (remember to phase if you already did the Theramore scenario) and it dropped for me on my first run. I believe it dropped from a Minion of Weavil - I didn't immediately check my bags after killing each mob.

Confirmed drop 16/06/2013 - lvl56 Slavemaker.

Farmed Alcaz nightly for two months, mixed with some AQ20 trash clearances and visits to the hives with no joy. Then decided to completely focus on the Hive bugs instead - the legs dropped on the second farming session in Regal after about 5 hours. I think the respawn rate and number of level 56 mobs there completely outweighs the number/rs rate of 59's on Alcaz.

In the meantime I found the hives gave me the best drops for Vanguard and Lofty & I now have 6 Glorious chests in storage (still haven't had the shoulders/head or boots drop yet - I've found better matches for transmog though). I also had over 1000 other greens/blues/patterns, etc drop in the course of farming for these.

BTW, got zilch off the bears, but I did get enough war bear leather to make a bunch of Warbear Woolies and Harnesses that sold very well!

Found these in Un'Goro Crater by a Devilsaur Queen 55 Elite. Farmed same queen for 4 weeks. There's a spot that spawns one every 30 seconds. Spot is at 34,81 on a little hill with egg piles. Good luck adventurers!

I got this item after almost 7 days of straight farming, I parked a toon on alcaz, and winterspring. Clear alcaz swap to my druid in winterspring clear the bears, giants, and ice avatars in the crevice, and by that time alcaz was back up. In the end it was a frostmaul giant that dropped it for me. The Strashaz Hydras on Alcaz island can still drop the legs, I just got mine a few minutes ago from a level 59 Hydra.

Previously one of the naga had dropped the chest for me at Alcaz. I managed to grind the rest of the set out from the bugs in Silithus at Hive Regal for any searching for the other components of the set.

the glorious legplates dropped for me tonight from a shardtooth bear. 5 solid days of 12 to 16 hours of farming. rotating between 3 toons while the locations i farmed respawned. the shardthooth bears, the bugs in hive-regal and alcaz island. so thats 60 to 90 hours of killing till success. also vanguard and lofty armor dropped while farming. alcaz island drops quite a few greens. so much bear flank and endless stacks of runecloth are now sitting in the auction house.

OMG I JUST had these drop at Hive' Regal from a Hive' Regal Hive Lord lvl 56. It was that and two other bugs that were lvl 55. I know they can't drop from the lvl 55 mobs, so it had to be the HIve Lord! :D Keep Grinding~~~~ (:

I farmed these legs diligently for months and nothing. Tried the bears, Alcaz, Silithus, AQ, etc. Managed to farm every other piece of the set from the Devilsaur Queen in Un Goro, but these legs are truly elusive. I am also from Moon Guard, and despite these legs never appearing on the AH, if they did they would be at least 80k. So no hope unless you are rolling in gold.

This morning I was scanning Auction Houses of other realms and found Glorious Legplates for sale on Wyrmrest (Horde Side) for 600G! Completely worth paying for a character transfer there to buy them (and another one back to Moon Guard in a few days) instead of farming the rest of my summer away to MAYBE get these legs. This grind almost killed the game for me, it is really not worth it.

So my advice to you if you really want this set, check the Auction Houses of other realms. You might get lucky like I did and find a reasonable seller that doesn't want 80k+ for this piece. I understand why the price is usually so high, these are god awful to farm, but they are just a transmog piece and maybe other sellers can grow a heart and stop being so greedy. I would have gladly payed 10-15k, which again is a LOT in my opinion for a transmog piece, but that would have never been enough on Moon Guard.

Again, my advice is to watch the Auction Houses and wait for a reasonable seller to list them. It is better than farming months of your life away and not enjoying the game you are paying to play anyway. If you do decide to farm these, best of luck. I got a lot of good greens on Alcaz that sold in the Auction House, but its a boring, slow grind.

Been trying farm these for a couple of days now at Alcaz island and Sililthus with no luck. When i do clear the area as a level 90, I just Queue for Ordos and Celestials which i get transfered to another realm and you'll find the NPC's are up. You can also do this for rares in Pandaria, just don't accept the Summons from Raid. Happy Farming!

After a couple of weeks spend on AQ10 trash and Alcaz Island, where i had alot of other valuable green transmog pieces, i decided to go into Silithus to kill some bugs in the hives.

Started with going into the hives to kill the rares, and all the bugs on my way. Again, got some nice transmog pieces. Then i decided to kill a few 佐拉黃蜂, and to my astonishment 光榮腿鎧 dropped!

I must have been really lucky because it's not on the loottable and it only took me about 2 hours.

So I set my eyes on this set last week to complete my mog look. Here's what my char looks like now (The shield is from shattered hand rep, the weapon is from mother shahraz in BT, enchanted with superior potency for a yellow glow in game, the helm is obviously the recent tier, and the shoulders again, from BT. The belt is a random world drop and a substitute for the glorious one. I'm rocking the sunstone panther as my mount for the all gold look.

But the journey was quite rough for the legplates. I bought the boots and the gloves off the ah. The chest and belt dropped for me. As for the legs...good god..I spent 4 whole days farming alcaz, winterspring and aq20...still nothing. I was growing desperate and my server was selling the legs for 78k - ridiculous in my opinion.Then the unbelievable happened.

While checking out wowuction.com, I found a pair selling on Saurfang for 10g...10 frikin g...I created a toon there, bought it off, leveled him to 10 and transferred him to my current server. To be honest guys, Don't waste your time farming them. It's really not worth the time. I hated it. Your best bet is to either pay the auction house price on your server (again, that means farming a lot) or stalk other servers to see what deal you can pick up. In my situation i was ridiculously lucky. Anything higher that that and id have had to transfer one of my chars there and back.

As for the best place to get the rest of the set, (and this piece too, on paper) I'd recommend AQ 20 trash. Follow this guy's guide for that.

Just a tip - I'm not sure how many have noticed, but although DM mobs have been downgraded to lower levels, the contents of the chests inside DM haven't..
I've found several similar ilevel items inside when chest farming, but not these - yet.

For those still wondering if 光榮腿鎧 drop in AQ20: I had them drop today from the trash in the corridor after Ayamiss the Hunter. I assume they were dropped by a Silicate Feeder(In my excitement I didn't think to check before looting.) After farming bears for these in Winterspring for a couple of hours I had decided to take a break and return to my hunt for 踏雲腿鎧; after having read the comments here and seeing no drop information from this instance, I never expected to see these pop up in my loot window. I am completely confused. The legs state: Item level 58 (but) Requires level 53 to wear. Why farm Bears at level 59? I have been gone from WoW for most of MoP and only played for 1/2 of Cata. What am I missing as far as farming a mob for a specific item - is it based on Item level not Required level?

It must be really frustrating knowing that there are people unknowingly vendoring these greens to the NPC's. To be honest as a mog enthusiast myself, it's easy to overlook the fact that a couple of pants or chest of green quality can be this valued because of their rarity. If I had these drop to me on a cloth character and just happened to find no one selling at AH, I would probably put them out for 50-100g tops. Now I understand why some people sell them for 20-80k gold, at first I thought it was a complete joke.

A moment of silence for all the hardcore grinders out there that is aware of someone somewhere disenchanting or vendoring these pieces.

I just wanted to share my story of getting some of the glorious pieces I wanted.
Just yesterday I set my eyes on this set to combine with various parts of conqueror set.
I started farming the leggings and chest yesterday for about 1 hour. I was killing mostly the Raid Shardtooths in Winterspring. After my 5th bear I looted the vanguard chest which is auctionized for 8k gold on my server currently.

Today I told my friend about my new transmog set I had set my eyes upon and he said "wait a minute, let me check my main because I think I found something similar" lo and behold he had the chest in his bag that I recieved for free!

Now back to the topic: I continued my search for the leggings, on my auction house one pair is sold for 78k gold which is out of my world. So I decided to try my luck farming, and after reading how painful some people have had in actually seeing a drop I was kind of reluctant.

So tonight in my time of writing I decided to farm some bears in Winterspring before going to bed. I was thinking that maybe I should download some kind of addon to see how many bears I needed to kill before the leggings dropped. And just now I couldn't believe my eyes when I shift looted Glorious Legplates of the Bear! It's about the fourth green I get from these bears and I estimate that I killed no more than 30-40 bears today.

Am I just super lucky? I get the feeling I shall spend some more time grinding these bears now when I got the gear I want, it seems to be pretty good for business if you find the right buyers.

I disenchanted these today, hoping for an eternal essence for my armor quest... and I got 2 Illusion duest. So much for 100% DE rate. :(
