Evangelism can be considered as the resources for Discipline, Holy Priest, one can have 5 stacks of Evangelism max.
it generate by (those all: heal 1 friendly target for 90% (Atonement) of the damage (Discipline only); each stacks of Evangelism increases damage and healing by 4% and reduces mana cost by 6%):

Smite (+1)
Holy Fire / Power Word: Solace (+1)
Penance (Discipline only) (+1; each Smite reduce its CD by 0.5 sec)

when and only when Discipline Priest have at least 1 stacks of Evangelism, this spell can be cast to consume all stacks of Evangelism:

Archangel (increase healing by 5% each stacks of Evangelism consumed for 18 sec)

for Shadow Priest, Solace and Insanity causes Devouring Plague to trigger Mind Flay (Insanity) on the target by 6 sec, increases damage of Mind Flay by 33% for each Shadow Orbs (3 max) consumed.

Shadow Orbs is the new resources for Shadow Priest, one can have 3 Shadow Orbs max.
it generate by:

Mind Blast (+1; Divine Insight give Shadow Word: Pain a 5% chance per tick to reset its cd, and make it instant and free)

As of 3/6/13, this yields the highest amount of mana for Disc priests over a 3 minute fight, as shown:

-Shadowfiend-
3% max mana per attack
1.5s per attack (8 attacks BASE total)
12s duration, 3min cooldown
=====
24% mana gained every 3 minutes

-Mindbender (replaces Shadowfiend)-
1.46 max mana per attack
1.5s per attack (10 attacks BASE total)
15s duration, 1min cooldown
=====
43.8% mana gained every 3 minutes

-Power Word: Solace-
1% man mana per attack
10s cooldown
=====
18% mana gained + 22.68% mana saved (replacing Holy Fire) + 24% mana gained (Shadowfiend)
=====
64.68% mana gained every 3 minutes

Napkin math should be correct. Possible variances include: extra hits from Shad./Mind. due to Haste, small fudge room because fight actually lasts 3:12 (3:15 for Mind.), the cost in mana to get Holy Fire down to 3,780 mana (starts at 5,400 mana before Archangel), not including Gnome racial (+5% mana pool) or +X% max mana gems. Please let me know if I missed anything else. In any event, as a Smite-healing Disc Priest, I'm going to respec into this now. :)

Leveling a Spriest right now, and I've been hearing that this talent is the best currently of the 3 (Lv45) talents, since some nerf to the Mind Spike glyph.
The tooltip for Shadow is a little vague though, so can someone explain how it works?
-How long does the buff last?
-Is it a buff you get after casting DP, preferably w/ 3 Orbs, or is it a debuff put on the target?

Solace and Insanity
The new Solace and Insanity talent empowers your Mind Flay by 100% after a 3 orb Devouring Plague. To get the maximum gain from this talent try to ensure that you can channel Mind Flay for most, if not all, of Devouring Plagues duration. This is primarily accomplished by making sure that your dots still have a fair bit of time left before you cast the Mind Blast that will give you a 3 orb Devouring Plague. You can get some extra benefit from the talent by recasting Mind Flay just before Devouring Plague disappears from the target, Mind Flay will then keep ticking for the double insanity damage for the entire duration of the channel. Do ensure that you still cancel Mind Flay insanity in favor of Mind Blast when it comes off cooldown, more Mind Blasts = more Devouring Plagues = more empowered Mind Flays. This talent should prove to be the best for most encounters, excluding those with multiple equal priority targets and/or heavy movement.

Something to note about the shadow version of this talent is that you can clip a mind flay and start a new one right before Devouring Plague drops off and get a new full 6 second duration on Mind Flay Insanity. On my priest I can typically get a full MF, followed by a 3-4 second Flay, and then another 6 second Flay.
