This ability costs 30 energy, not 10 mana as the tooltip currently states, and has NO COOLDOWN! This is a free pvp trinket without cooldown.
Carrying a flag? Sure, I'll flash that to the other side at 170% speed, unlimited duration.

Also very handy while questing. Takes less time to run between destinations, quest hand-ins and mobs while killing.

As of right now, you can chain this indefinitely if you take Shadow Focus in conjunction with Glyph of Stealth. It breaks stealth however it lasts 4 seconds by which time you can re-stealth provided you aren't in combat (or vanish of course - you only get one though since you can't take Prep if you take BoS), thanks to the glyph. Normally a re-stealth takes 6 seconds, the glyph brings it to 2 which makes this possible.

Entering stealth also doesn't trigger a GCD. But I wasn't able to macro them together because if BoS instantly breaks stealth it doesn't seem to count for Shadow Focus so it ends up costing energy.

This ability will take you out of stealth at the end of its duration.

It can be used in stealth, or going into stealth.

With a decent amount of haste, you can have 100% uptime on the speed boost.

Seems like this talent is bugged (besides unstealthing you). When hamstring or conconssive shot is applied, during BoS, it does not remove the reapplication. That is, if a warrior is spamming hamstring, BoS will remove the hamstring, but will not make you immune to the reapplication.You have to keep spamming BoS and with the high energy cost, its not worth it. This makes this talent less useful against hunters or warriors that know this talent is bugged.

Now, I don't know if this because they are physical effects or whatnot, but this doesn't seem as working as intended.

I know this is a long-shot, but are fear effects considered movement-impairing effects? Heaven knows they impair my movement, but I haven't had a chance to test this out yet. It seems like it'd be too good to be true, but a rogue can always hope.

As of patch 5.2, this is "insane" now.. they fixed it to not break stealth anymore. If you are NOT in stealth, it costs 30 Energy. While in stealth, this puppy only costs 8 Energy? Endless speed!

Edit: Thanks Leepi. Just updating as Leepi stated, you need Shadow Focus. If you didn't have it before (and chose one of the other 2 talents at the same talent level), this 5.2 change definitely makes this more valuable now.

This is most likely going to be fixed, the fact that if you are the Flag Carrier in WSG, you can go from enemy base to your base in less than 20 seconds. And it removes all movement impairs (Concossive Shot, Hamstring, etc.) and it can be up all the time even out of stealth (if you have the Shadow Focus talent), without running out of energy if timed properly. No other class in the game can go that fast for that long. And (already mentioned) with the talent Shadowy Focus that reduced the cost of abilities in stealth by 70%, this talent costs 8 energy. Even if you spam it, the energy resets by the time the 1 seconds global cooldown weres off. Very nice combo.

TL;DR: YOU ARE A MOBILITY GOD, NOTHING CAN SLOW YOU AND YOU ARE ALWAYS MOVING AT SPRINT SPEED

Worth noting that BoS is modified by the passive movement speed increase of Nightstalker. Whilst this has no real benefit in either PvE (both talents a dps loss) or PvP (Subterfuge or Focus prefered), it is extremely useful whilst soloing content. At 204% movement speed (BoS 170% * 1.2), it only cuts short by 16% (Mount Up) for a ground mount whilst stealthed, so you can move through anything as well as indoors. Only stealth detecting mobs can cut your journey short, but either:

activate Shadow Walk at appropriate times to stay undetected.
cancel Stealth and Vanish when away from the detecting mobs.
use Blind on your target and run away, if applicable.
do the above with Preparation in emergencies.

Nothing only shines though, there are some minor drawbacks. Not having Shadow Focus graves you for energy fairly soon as Assassination on bosses, and not having Shadowstep can make killing some bosses harder where quick target jumping (airborne or moving targets) is prefered. If really necessary, the talents can be swapped at leisure, of course.

For what it's worth, this is the complete rogue solo build I'd advice. If ranged is required, Shuriken Toss and Deadly Throw are mandatory. If survivability is an issue, the glyphs of Shiv and Recuperate can replace Stealth and Sprint which are there for mobility. Marked for Death obviously shines on any fight where there are a lot of quick deaths. The Glyph of Vendetta, although mandatory in PvE, is rarely a make or breaker whilst soloing, and most fights are shorter than 20 seconds even.

so what exactly are the limitations of this ability? just the energy cost? this ability seems far to OP am i missing something did they really give rogues a virtually permanent 70% speed boost?

You may have reasons to prefer Shadowstep or Cloak and Dagger, but for worgens players this is a must have ability!

Use this macro to help you

/castsequence reset=1 Burst of Speed, Darkflight

reset=1 means after 1 second if you don't cast Darkflight, it goes back to cast Burst of Speed again. Change to 2 or 3 if you want more seconds.
This macro lets you choose if you want the Darkflight-combo pressing it twice, or just a regular Burst of Speed, pressing once.

If you want to never use it while on stealth, saving the combo for non-stealth situations, you can change to this one:

You may prefer this just to save a cooldown for a situation where you want to run faster only when you are exposed. Both macros DOES NOT break stealth.

Did this receive an undocumented change in 5.4.7? I'm quite sure it used to be spammable (refreshable every GCD), but now using it before the previous buff expires gives the error "You can't do that yet".

Edit: This internet person noticed the same but claimed it was limited to the Timeless Isle. I was unable to refresh it in Kun-lai, Dalaran, or Orgrimmar, though.
