Ka'wi the Gorger is a fat silkworm NE of Nectarbreeze Orchard at 48, 71. He's a critter with 4207hp.

My Panther Cub managed to get him down to ~800hp before going down. I opened with Screech/Prowl/Pounce, then Pounced away till I had to switch to my Guardian Cub to finish him off. With two Beasts you should down him no problem.

Epic pets are reasonably easy to defeat. I lead with the Sprite Darter Hatchling - will beat on the enemy pet for a round or two, then use Life Exchange which will do well over a thousand damage and heal your pet to full. I then will continue beating on the enemy pet until the Hatchling is dead, then switch to the Harbinger of Flame. By this point, usually the enemy pet is near or below 25% health and I'll use Impale to finish the pet. This strategy works on all of the pets. If the enemy pet is not at or below 25% when the Hatchling is killed, any pet that is strong against the enemy type will close the gap fairly easily. Hope this helps.

Ka'wi the Gorger is located in The Jade Forest at location 48.4, 71.0. Ka'wi the Gorger can be soloed with Cinder Kitten, but then finished off with Grunty or Rocket Chicken if you have problems. This guy so far is the easiest I've battled.

Ok, so, I found a rather humorous combination of pets that can be used to defeat ANY Beast of Fable. Here's the jist.

You need to start with a pet that can cast Sunlight (Sunlight). Cast Sunlight and swap to your next pet.

Your second pet needs to have Life Exchange (Life Exchange). Attack a few times then cast it. Do NOT try to push the damage so low that it gets risky; use it when you hit half health or so.

Finish with any pet that can use Predatory Strike (Predatory Strike). Obviously you want to use this ability whenever the opponent is under 25% health.

So how does this strategy work? It exploits the insanely high health of the beasts of fable and uses it against them. Sunlight will increase their health and your health by 50%. This means that Life Exchange, which caps out at your max health, can hit 50% harder. Most pets with this ability seem to have 1400 health, which means that with Sunlight, Life Exchange will hit for 2100. The Beasts of Fable have about 4200 health; with Sunlight, that means they'll be down to roughly 2100/6300 (it'll vary a bit from beast to beast). That means if you can do roughly 500 extra damage to the enemy sometime during the fight, they'll be under 25% health and be one-shottable by Predatory Strike, as 1500-1600 health will still be killable by the strike. Note in many cases it also may be possible for the second pet to simply beat the enemy to death on their own; this is just a generic thing.

There are two things you need to watch out for. First, on pets that heal, you'll need to make sure the enemy is low enough, and it'll take a few extra hits. Not a big deal, just be aware of it. It's obviously very essential that the enemy be under 25% when you use Predatory Strike; if they're just a bit high, you'll be in for a harder fight. Second, watch out for pets that Burrow/Dive/BeaverDam/block your attacks in some way. Life Exchange and Predatory Strikes are essential abilities that can't be allowed to miss, so against enemies that have a potential to block these, be careful.

There are a LOT of options for pets with these abilities, and almost anything will work. However, I like

1) For the first pet, my personal preference is Soul of the Aspects (though Terrible Turnip works, and I'm sure almost everyone will have it). It doesn't matter much, but he can open with Surge of Light for a little bit of free damage, taking some load off my second pet; no other pet with Sunlight has a good, hard-hitting ability that only takes one turn.

2) My preference for the second pet is Nether Faerie Dragon or Sprite Darter Hatchling (the same thing, other than perhaps stats). This is probably your most important pet to choose well, since he'll be the only one doing actual combat. Higher health is better if you have the choice. Mini Mindslayer works as well, but he doesn't really have a good choice for spammable attacks; you need to either use a weak attack or one that locks you into doing nothing else for 3 turns. With the dragons, you can Arcane Blast and then Life Exchange whenever you want. As another minor perk, the dragons will get their +50% damage buff when the target goes under 25% health, giving you an indication they're ready to be hit with Predatory Strike.

3) My preference for the final pet is https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/spell=39181. There are a ton of pets with Predatory Strike, and any will work. However, there's a good chance your Flyer will get hit under 50% health (due to Sunlight) before they can attack and lose his speed buff. Speed is your friend; you don't need to hit hard, you just need to hit before the enemy can Burrow/heal/whatever. Miniwing is EXTREMELY fast, so he should always go first. That being said, there are other fast Flyers too, but this one is just my preference.

This guy was not hard. I did not need to use the finishing move strategies people listed here, just my best level 25s with beast type moves (golden civet kitten and a coral adder are all i have at 25, kinda sad really) and smacked the #*@& out of it. Took 10-14 rounds the three times I did it. Idk how that compares to the speed of the other strategies listed here. I was disappointed to see it is not captureable :c

Edit: I would not recommend training lower pets on this guy, it is beatable with two 25s and a lower but it only gave 224 xp.

If you can find a Zandalari Anklerender from the Trolls of the Isle of Giants , you can literary destroy Ka'wi.

Concerning the fight: I started with black claw and then hunting party. After that, one Leap was enough to kill Ka'wi. To be honest, i had one crit during hunting party (1k instead of 700) but after all, it seems that this raptor was made to beat Ka'wi.

edit: If you wonder why hunting party can hit so high : Extra damage vs critter, + 100% damage from hunting party debuff + 74 + damage from black claw + 25% damage if below 50% HP

I used the Fire-Proof Roach as my first pet. Used the ability Apocalypse. The ability killed him when the meteor hit, after 15 rounds. I guess any roach or beetle with the ability would do. The roach must be alive and the pet in play when the meteor hits btw.

Important Notes:

There's No xp multiplier for defeating Elite Battle Pets.
They have higher drop rates for rare stones and alt panda pets.
The bag for the fable daily has a very large chance to contain a random rare upgrade stone.

A tip if you're struggling with this guy is to use Scooter the Snail if you have him, he managed to get this guy down to 137 hp by himself before dying using the ability headbutt on cooldown.

For this fight I used:
Lvl 25 Kun-Lai Runt-Thrash/Mangle/Rampage
Lvl 25 Elder Python-Bite/Sting/Burrow
Lvl 23 Alpine Foxling - Bite/Crouch/Leap (Didn't Need)

Used Mangle before Rampage, then Thrash spam. My runt took 2/3 of his life away before it died. Brought in my python for a burrow followed by a bite to seal the deal. Didn't need my third pet.

Definitely the easiest of the legendary pets post-buff, I killed him with Flayer youngling, Shrine Fly, and Chrominius, that same line up I used for Nitun and I went into the fight with all my pets half dead right after killing Nitun.

I reliably use a Fjord Worg Pup with howl and bite - just howl then bite till you are dead
Switch to Grove viper with Poison Fang - Hiss - burrow use abilities as available until dead
Cat with Claw Rake and Devour - usually just need to cast devour and slug is dead.

My Alpine Foxling Kit lvl 25 Rare cut through this guy with no problem.

Howl then Leap or Bite a few times and watch his health melt. The fox has no healing and Ka'wi can hit pretty hard so just have another pet finish him off. Job done.

Beast abilities of all sorts decimate his health.

I had my Bucktooth Flapper (Gnaw, Screech, Woodchipper)
Chrominius (Bite, Howl, Ravage)
3rd Slot (didn't need)

Bucktooth opened, he went down fast but got off his Screech and a nasty bleed with Woodchipper, so when Chromy came in he was able to pop Howl+Ravage and 1 shot him.

To be honest, with a little RNG Chromy could probably solo this fellow.

I used a crow and cat to blow this guy up. You could substitute the crow for anything which does the multi-round attack which doubles damage taken. Using a cat that's faster than Ki'wi with pounce can blow him up in a couple rounds.

An easy counterintuitive strategy is using Unborn Val'kyr Infected Squirrel and any pet of your liking. Open with Curse of Doom (using Haunt is not really necessary) swap to squirrel cast the dot and start stampede. By turn 5 it will be dead.
This strat works on every legendary exept for the ones with shields.

After reading these helpful comments, I came up with a strat to finish him in 5 rounds with just 2 pets:

Unborn Val'kyr - Curse of Doom, Unholy Ascension
Lil' Bad Wolf - Howl, Claw (or any pet with howl+bite, but claw is best)
3rd pet (I use Chrominius with his howl+ravage for stinky RNG)
as a bonus, his chew is weak against Wolfy and his moth balls are weak against Chromy

Open with Val'kyr and cast curse of doom. Use UA immediately afterwards. She'll pop back up for one final hit (I just shadow slash for that bit of extra dmg). The first two casts are for timing purposes.

Wolf comes in. Cast howl first, since Curse of Doom will then hit for double damage. One claw afterwards will finish the fight.

This usually goes right, but if it doesn't - doom or claw misses and/or Wolfy bites it immediately afterwards - Chrominius can back him up. This team also works for Nitun, tho I still prefer the undead pet strat since Nitun heals for a massive amount if Wolfy croaks too soon.

Edit: I'm finding out that this team, with a little bit of luck, works good for ALL the beasts of fable except Ti'un (the turtle) and No-No (on account of the blocks), and that any damage-dealing pet could go into slot 3 since a double-damage curse of doom+claw (if timed and hit perfectly) will leave them with only a few hundred HP and easy enough to deal in one round. This is good news for me since I'm lazy and don't like to switch teams for every battle ^^

I started him off with a team of Wild Golden Hatching, Robo-Chick, and Clockwork Gnome, and he beat all three.

So the next fight, I put my Darkmoon Rabbit in place of the Robo-Chick. I had the rabbit as my first pet, using Huge, Sharp Teeth!, Dodge, and Stampede abilities. He's a critter, so he's weak against Huge, Sharp Teeth!, and it's a bleed effect, so I wanted to get it up right away. Then I activated the Dodge ability, so his Moth Ball ability missed me each time. Then followed up with Stampede, with Dodge still active for the first round. That put him taking double-damage, which cancelled out the normal 50% damage taken buff he gets. Once Stampede ended, I reapplied the Dodge ability, and hit him again with Huge, Sharp Teeth, and he was done for.

today i used unborn valkyr, placed doom on him then unholy ascencion before my valkyr gave in

then i used my alpine foxling, dazzling dance first, then howl, then bite. since he is a critter be crit a lot from it..because he already had 25% increased dmg from the ascencion, topped with howl..it dealt 1455 damage to him.

i wasnt able to use my 3rd moth pet.

So I found a rather interesting quirk to the way the Beasts of Fable damage reduction buff works that can be exploited to make basically any beast of fable fairly easy to kill. This is a generic strategy for all beasts and may have to be slightly adapted for each individual beast, but I'll include specifics where I think is necessary.

The main aspect to this trick is that if you place a +100% damage buff on the target (such as Howl), you would think that the Beast would take "normal" damage, because the damage taken is doubled from Howl and then cut in half from the beast of fable buff. However, the effects apparently add, not multiply; as a result, the Beast will end up taking +50% damage when these two buffs add together. This is a huge increase in the damage taken over what you'd expect, and as such, ANY sort of +100% damage buff from abilities like Howl, Flock, etc. are extremely powerful.

Now, for the specifics. For a simple team that can take out anything, I recommend using at least 2 of Chrominius, and then some other 3rd pet (which could be a 3rd Chrominius, but may be better as something else, which I'll go into later). If you go Howl + Surge of Power with Chrominius, it will do over 1100 damage. This means that if you do this with 2 Chrominius in a row, the Beast will die no matter who it is except for the healers. Against Beasts that don't hit as hard, you could go Howl + Bite + Surge, but there's little reason to do this against Beasts that won't heal since they'll die in the process anyway, and if you fail to cast the Surge of Power before dying you will have some other issues.

There are three Beasts that can heal, and this provides a bit of a problem to the strategy, but you can adjust. It should be noted that these Beasts won't get many opportunities to heal. Your strategy revolves around doing VERY high damage per turn, so they'll usually only get off 1 or at most 2 heals before the fight is over.

1) Dos Ryoga: This fish is often the hardest Beast for most people to beat. When using Chrominius, I recommend going Howl + Bite + Surge instead of just Howl + Surge. Dos Ryoga does hit hard, but he has a lot of abilities that avoid doing damage for a turn, so you'll usually have time to use all three of these abilities. Try to include a Flyer with Predatory Strike on your team. This ability hits pretty hard to begin with and will be fairly effective for finishing off the low-health Ryoga after your second Chrominius dies. Furthermore, if you ever find yourself in a situation where a Chrominius dies while there's still a turn of Howl left on Dos Ryoga (a fairly common occurence), always swap in the bird next and then use Predatory Strike. This will cause Dos Ryoga to take more damage than a Surge of Power, even if he's not under 25% health.

2) Nitun: This racoon isn't as hard as Dos Ryoga, but he is a little more random. One of the issues you may find yourself in is that against your first Chrominius, he may open with Prowl + Devour, which will cause him to heal all of the damage that Chrominius does. The trick as odd as it sounds is, don't try to outsmart him. Just go Howl Bite Surge on each of your Chrom's. If your first Chrom dies and there's still a turn of Howl up, you'll want to go Bite Howl Bite Surge, and this should kill Nitun before he can heal again. The nice thing here is that Bite is strong against Nitun to begin with, so while he's random, you can often just overpower the RNG with massive damage.

3) Lucky Yi: This cricket is quite easy in this strat, I include it only for completeness. He'll keep healing, but he doesn't hit all that hard and he's weak to Bite. Just do the Howl Bite Surge combo over and over and he'll die pretty easy.

Ok so i have a 2 pet solution for this fight that will win 100% and the pets require can be caught at lvl 23 so no need to raise pets from lvl 1.

Start with kun-lai runt, debuff gorger with Mangle.
switch to whatever pet you have that has a stampede like ability.
glow fly, Marsh fiddler, mei li sparkler, Prairi Mouse, Resilient Roach, Savory Beetle, Tolai Hare Pup, Yakrat. They all have the needed ability and can be caught at lvl 23.

use Stampede or Swarm depending on the pet and do so until the pet dies.
you should now have plenty of mangle left and at least one round of the double damage buff depending on when the pet dies.

switch back to runt and Rampage him to a state of deadsies.. enjoy the win.

Just tested with the above pets at lvl 23 green quality. got gorger down to 96 health. any 3 pet would finish the job.

I used lvl 25(r) Clefthoof runt, lvl 23 Elder python(u) and lvl 23 Crunchy Scorpion(u)

started with cleft using smash, then horn attack which got Ka down to about 1k life before dying.
Python used slither, bite then sting then bite again before python died leaving Ka about 480 health.
Crunchy did cower then 2 snaps and ka went down.

I more or less followed Johnnycakes13's advise, but used a Plains Monitor with Claw, Triple Snap and Comeback as my first pet. Didn't use Comeback.
Then I used a Temple Snake with Poison Fang, Counterstrike and Burrow (didn't use Counterstrike), followed by Alpine Foxling with Bite, Crouch and Leap. I didn't need the foxling.
All pets I used were lvl 25 rare

I used Unborn Val'kyr (H/H) with Shadow Shock, Curse of Doom and Unholy Ascension, and my 2nd pet was Chrominius (H/H) with Bite, Howl and Surge of Power. I also had a 3rd pet on back up, in my case I used a Electrified Razortooth but never had to use it.

I think for this it was the combination of the damage buff applied by the Unholy Ascension, the howl and the racial Dragonkin buff when the enemy falls below 50%.

If Ka'Wi had survived any of this my hope was to use the Electrified Razortooth with Rip, Blood in the Water and what ever for the 3rd attack to scrap me over.

In any case I didn't have to and if the RNG gods were unkind then it's just a case of restarting.

I beat this guy with a Bandicoon kit uncommon. using bite survival and powerball. also used the evverescent glowfly to start dodging attacks with cocoon strike and such. had a 25 tiny harvester for backup but didnt need it.

When I took this guy down today I had forgotten to switch pets so I had Lil' Bad Wolf with a level 13 Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen. I used Mangle and then Howl before doing Claw twice. One of them missed.

Then Lil' Bad Wolf died and just for giggles I used Xu-Fu's Vengeance. Bear in mind Howl wasn't on Ka'wi the Gorger no longer. Ka'wi hit me for 577 with Super Sticky Goo, nearly killing Xu-Fu. Then he hit back with Vengeance for 1738, killing Ka'wi. What on earth happened there I don't know.

Easy peasy with basic pets.

First pet: I use a fast Prairie Mouse, but any pet with Stampede, Flock, Murder, etc., will do. It just needs to be faster than Ka'wi and probably shouldn't be one that takes extra damage from Ka'wi's attacks.

Stampede (etc.) until your pet is dead.

Second pet: Any spider with Brittle Webbing and Spiderling Swarm attacks.

Used an Alterac Brew-Pup on this, opened with Tough 'N Cuddly, then Call the Pack, then Bite. Nearly took it down alone, just needed a followup hit, though it did get one crit in for just under 700.

Beasts of Fable

The most effective team I've found so far for all of the beasts is Unborn Val'kyr, Chrominius and a backup of your choice. You should finish the fight within about 5-7 rounds. However, try to pick a good backup for each beast in case RNG is not on your side and you need a couple of extra attacks.

Start with your Unborn Val'kyr and cast Curse of Doom. Follow up with Shadow Slash and then Unholy Ascension.
* You may be able to do an extra Shadow Slash but do NOT do more than 4 rounds (Curse of Doom, Shadow Slash (x2), Unholy Ascension). If you are killed the round that you do Unholy Ascension and you have an extra cast use Shadow Slash. Don't swap your pet out manually as you will lose a turn.

Swap in Chrominius once Unborn Val'kyr is dead. Start off with Howl. Next use Surge of Power. Curse of Doom will hit with both Howl and Unholy Ascension up (either after Howl or Surge of Power; doesn't matter). This should kill him, but if not, when Chrominius dies swap in your backup and finish him up. If Chrominius doesn't die after recharging, Bite until either you or the beast is dead before you switch.

Special note about Ti'un the Wanderer: You will need your backup pet most of the time due to the mitigated damage from Shell Shield. Gilnean Raven is a good choice of backup but any will work; you shouldn't need more than 1-2 extra hits anyway.

In-Depth for this battle:
Start with Nether Faerie Dragon
Just Arcane Blast until low on health, then Life Exchange and Arcane Blast until it dies. Bring in second Nether Faerie Dragon, repeat.
Finish him off with Metal Fist from your Rabid Nut Varmint 2000.

My fastguide is the notes I have made for myself to get through the dailys in Pandaria a little quicker. The order they follow is the most effecient way to get to all 22 if you look at the world map, starting from the Shrine of Two Moons.
With this guide you should get some nice Pet Battling stuff and make a
few hundred gold and 500 timeless coins on the Pandaria dailys every day.
Some days you get a pet worth (Auction house) appx 500-1500g in addition
to the usual stuff.

This should be all you need to conquer the dailys.

one shotted Ka'wi with 2 pets saving one for leveling. i used a modified rotation from prinsallan with the nether faerie

Nether Faerie Dragon - moonfire - arcane blast until almost dead - life exchange - arcane & moonfire on cooldown until dead

bring in level pet for one turn

Cinder Kitten - claw until ka'wi is dead.

I used Alpine Foxling Kit and Chrominius to dispatch Ka'Wi in no time.

Alpine Foxling Kit - Dazzling Dance then Howl

If you get hit by the goo before you can swap then do as much damage as you can with the fox (Bite is very effective anyway)

Use Chrominius next then use Howl - Ravage. The dragonkin passive should procc for the second hit and do upwards of 1000+ damage to him with Howl up.

To defeat Ka'wi I used the following 2 pets

1. Kun-lai Runt, lvl 25, uncommon
2. Lil' Bad Wolf, lvl 25, rare

Started out with mangle and thereafter rampage. Ka'wi killed my runt already after the first round of its rampage.

Then switched to my Lil' Bad wolf

First I used howl and thereafter claw, which killed ka'wi

Didnt get to use a third pet - Kawi died in round 4.

Killed it with:
- Adder (Poison Fang, Hiss, Burrow);
- Alpine Foxling (Bite, Crouch, Leap) (died);
- Alpine Hare (Scratch, Dodge, Burrow).

I took Ka'wi the Gorger down with my Zandalari Anklerender.
Using Black Claw first then Hunting Party.
I only used that pet and it lost about 40'ish % of its hp.

Solo'd with Lil' Bad Wolf (S/S).

1. Dodge
2. Howl
3. Claw until dodge is up again
4. Dodge
5. Claw

Doesn't always work though, so make sure to bring something that can finish the job in case of bad RNG.

Just soloed him using Chrominius.
Start with Howl, follow with Ravage and finish him off with a few Bites.
I actually was able to do 1 more Ravage.

I used:

1. Rare level 25 H/P Direhorn Runt: Trample, Horn Attack, Trihorn Shield.
2. Rare level 25 H/H Chrominius: Howl, Surge of Power.

Direhorn Runt got this pet down to 756 health before dying.
Chrominius swapped in, and killed him with a Howl and a Surge of Power.

3 round - Darkmoon Zeppelin - Explode

Boss is dead. :)

Very important is to cast Illuminate, because this spell transforms the weather into a sunny day. During a sunny day, the maximum health of all pets is increased by 50%. Thanks to it 2 explodes kill the boss. Lunar Lantern must stay alive, of course.

This fight can be easily won in just a few quick rounds...

Very very easy with:

Darkmoon Zep - lvl 25
Zandalari Anklerender - lvl 25
Zandalari Kneebiter - lvl 25 (only needed for backup)

Round 1 - Start with Darkmoon Zep - DECOY
Round 2 - Bring in Zandalari Anklerender
Round 3 - BLACK CLAW
Round 4 - HUNTING PARTY
Round 5 - HUNTING PARTY continues

The end. Only need the third pet in something tragic happens.

Done easily with Spiders (Desert Spider and Jumping Spider)
(Blues/Rare quality captured in the wild)

Round 1: Brittle Webbing
Round 2: Spiderling Swarm
Round 3: Strike

Rinse and repeat with next 2 spiders (killed before 2nd pet dies)

If you are like me, and sometimes defeating this guy does not give credit, then relog and do the fight again. I'm not sure what causes this behaviour entirely yet, but it could be related to the fact that I often engage him while mounted.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. I just killed him with 2 lv23s and 1 lv25 (finisher). Although, next time I do this, I will used each 23 for a couple rounds, then finish with anubeseth idol (lv25) for the xp on the 2 lower levels. Not much point in killing it, since it can't be captured, unless you get some pet xp off it.
