I found this in the Amber Quarry in Zan'vess. It was sitting on a flat ledge of white rock in front of a large pillar of white rock. ~~I didn't have a map coordinate add-on installed on the Beta so I don't have coords.~~ The Amber Quarry is on the southeastern tip of the Zan'vess island. I was level 87 when I found it, gained ~570,000 XP and got the Lost and Found achievement. I went back with Map Coords installed and got the coordinates 30.2/90.8.

This staff is in the Amber Quarry in Zan'vess. This staff is not a drop from a mob or looted from a chest. It is just on the flat base of the large pillar. It has the sparkle effect on it, just like a mob that needs to be looted.

Also your heart will start pounding when you first see it, and you will link it to guild chat immediately after you pocket this amazing level 86 BoA staff. The staff will last until lvl 90 without needing to be upgraded.

This staff took exactly 24 hrs after MoP launch to spawn. I set up my campfire and camped until the lil staff of awesomeness showed up.

Found staff at 30.1, 90.7 laying flat against the white Quarry "rock" (its on the white part of the ground below the solo steep platue/spire).

So, dose anyone know the re spawn time for this staff? I have been waiting for ~~6 hours~~ and still no spawn..?

Watch it with these items... I just was incredibly stupid. I'd been checking this one for the last few days, finally found it. Clicked it, got the achieve, but auto-loot did not take the item and I must have fidgeted my character so it just disappeared without looting. Definitely recommend you stand perfectly still to make sure it goes in your bag.

It's contained in Dissector's Staff of Mutation which is lying against the quarry.

I have just looted this, it was laying flat on the white rock floor at 30.22, 90.75.

But beware, I looted this but the loot didn't actually show for over 30 seconds,
maybe a bug (Build 5.0.5 (16057)).

If the loot doesn't show for you, be patient..

Got this today. Found it at exactly the coordinates given above. You can't miss it. It's literally laying flat down on the rock. If you don't see it, it's not there hidden around any where. Took a screenshot as I was looting it, so I'll try to submit it.

Decided to stop by this spot real quick to check if it was there, it wasn't; went to the bathroom, when I got back, it was lying there, taunting me, quickly screenshotted and picked it up, lucky me.
Been checking it before so it wasn't my first time I sought for it, Don't give up you relic hunters!

I found this the other day, looted it, got the achievment but the staff never went into my bags. I put in a ticket and they told me its a bug and they know about it but can't do anything to give me the staff even though I looted it. So basically "tough for you" so even if you do manage to find it good luck keeping it.

As a note to Druids. I recommend shifting out of flight form before picking this up. I did not and I was not offered the window choosing to bind it to me and it was not looted.

Obtained at 4:24am 10/29/12. Hagendaz - Argent Dawn US. (Though I obtained on my Pally - Unconcerned) Found on most South-Western island in Dread Wastes on a white stone slab which is part of a whole rock that looks like a pillar on the most South-Eastern part of the island. You can see what the staff looks like on the ground and the color of the stone by looking Here

If you get the no loot bug that others have mentioned then dont listen to them where it says a GM wont help. It happend to me and i put one in anyways and sure enough the GM gave me my staff. GMs are humans some help more then others....and some are arses!

Respawn time could be 6 days and 2 hours...

Somebody looted the staff right in front of me and after intensive camping (not 24/7 but close) I got the staff exactly 6 days and 2 hours later.

I got the no loot window bug and after 4 tickets I finally found a GM that gave me my staff.

I decided to stick it out and sit a character on the rock for the day. 18hrs later and still no staff. I am wondering if the timer is affected by the others around it, much like the rare-spawns of Northrend or Outlands? I will most likely do the same tomorrow and will update later. (Hopefully with staff and screenshot!)

Dates: Sun 11th Nov 9am - Mon 12th Nov, 3am - No spawn
Mon 12th Nov 6:30am - Tues 13th Nov 12:30am (so far) - No spawn
Server Restart is in a few hours so I'll probably stay up until then...

Edit: Got it! The spawn was at Tues 13th Nov 1:27am!

This means the re-spawn time is at least 19+ hrs, maybe up to 40hrs if it did not spawn during the 3hrs I was sleeping.

Since nobody has mentioned it - I'll ask what may seem a daft question. Are these items B.o.A. in the same way as heirlooms - in other words, once they've been equipped by one character can they be transferred to another or are they bound to the first character that equips it ?

It might be that at least on low-population realms the spawns for the Klaxxi relics are linked. I say this because I just picked up 4 of them in one run on my druid, including the staff, after 3-4 days finding them not there after several checks per day.

I'm not sure what the baseline respawn is but it is probably several days.

Most of the Klaxxi weapons are pretty hard to come by, because they are all sitting in questing areas, and respawn on a pretty leisurely schedule. But the staff is probably the hardest of all of them, because unlike the other Klaxxi weapons, which are for the most part at least a little hidden, it's just sitting on top of a rock twinkling at everyone who might be flying by.

When I looted it, it didn't go into my bags right away and my character was sitting there in the loot position as I alt tabbed to come on here and check the comments to see if it happened to anyone else and when I tabbed back in my character was standing up so I checked my bags and there it was. I don't know if it will happen to anyone else but just thought I'd leave a comment and let everyone know. Just wait and see if you loot it. Also I do not have auto loot on.

An awesome way to keep track of hunting these treasures (and anything else, really) if you have TomTom is to change your ‘Clear waypoint distance’ settings for TomTom to 0 (via the Interface option). This makes your waypoint permanent until you right click the point and select ‘Remove Waypoint’. Just keep in mind that you’ll have to define the waypoint location to a specific area and define what you’re looking for. For example: /way Dread Wastes 28.8 41.9 Blade of the Poisoned Mind

Add as many as you like and they won’t disappear each time you pass over them. You can also drag the Waypoint Arrow that’s in the middle of your screen to an area that’s less annoying since it’ll pretty much be there until you clear all your waypoints. Hope this helps!

I just camped this staff for 10 minutes, using the same coordinates as posted below. Came back from a smoke break, and the staff was laying on the ground directly in front of me. Looted with no issues.

Just looted this staff, 2:14 Server time - Illidan, 12:15 PM PST. It is server reset day, so I decided to give camping it a go since they always say the best time to camp things is after server restart. Did a BG, came out to this laying on the ground. Just about 2 hours after servers went live again this staff spawned. I've camped it before and had no luck, camping all day long. Keep your head up and happy hunting! - Also, I had turned off my auto loot as others had suggested so I didn't bug out and have to open a ticket. It was very successful.

Just got this on my lvl 86 fire mage. Yah buddy! Crit good!
1. Just cruised West down the road in Valley of Four winds.
2. In the little town just before Stoneplow (and the nasty black tar pit), you’ll want to cut over South/West and run along the wall as high up as you can to avoid danger (like green kitties and grass hopper dudes Klaxxi) .
3. Go all the way South ‘til you hit the ocean and swim West. Helps to have swim speed potion or mount (like a turtle ;-)
4. Head towards the Southeastern tip of the Zan’vess island found off the South end of Dread Waste. You’ll find a ramp up to the island on its back side.
5. I ran almost to the top and then turned invisible to avoid the beasts there.
6. Turn right heading East and run along the outer edge of the island until it’s clear.
7. Wait for your invisible to reset (1.5 min). You should see a huge white pillar…turn invisible and run around the back of that pillar to take the small ramp up.

Sweet Jesus! There it is! (Or if not…you’ll be safe to camp there.)

...and after all this I found out I can just whip these boys anyway...however, they do attack in groups and that proves a bit harder. So, best to be safe. This baby should do me well all the way to 90 or until I get the Cloudscorcher Greatstaff! Now...just need to find out where to get that little darling.

Got some luck in WOW for a change, flew over to Amulet and picked it up then flew over to staff and it was there to, makes up for the 3 days i spent camping the rogue dagger.
