At first glance, I thought this will be very useful at the start of 5.4, when players need 5000 Timeless Coin to complete Secrets of the Timeless Isle and proceed on the legendary questline.

However...a late PTR build added a reputation requirement. So, while you might grind out Shaohao Honored at a decent rate, you'll probably get a fair number of coins along the way too. Might still be useful, just not an instant solution.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##

I thought I'd throw in a few useful points below to save those from purchasing this, and wasting those precious Valor Points! Even if I only save one life, my work is complete! :-)

Pouch of Timeless Coins can be purchased from Mistweaver Ai in exchange for 500 Valor Points only after reaching Honored with the Emperor Shaohao faction.

However It is strongly advised you avoid purchasing this and save your Valor Points! Unless you are swimming in Valor with no items left to upgrade, or are significantly under-geared to the point you are unable to farm Timeless Coin; as Timeless Coins drop in very large quantities throughout the Island from mobs, quests, Ordon Supplies, tons of hidden treasure chests, elites, pet battles, and more.

Aside from item upgrades, this is the only new item in the 5.4 Siege of Orgrimmar that can be purchased with Valor Points - There is no Siege of Orgrimmar raid-quality Valor Gear Vendors this time around. Valor will be the only way to upgrade current gear, so it is important to save it for item upgrades if RNG is not in your favor, as I believe most everyone can fall into this category.
It will take you, on average, 5 to 10 times longer to earn 500 Valor Points (with a weekly cap of 1,000 per character) than it will to earn 3,500 Timeless Coin (with no weekly cap at all).

Think of the Pouch of Timeless Coins as the vendor in 5.3 who sells Blood Spirits in exchange for Valor. Sure, it's a means to an end, and you could get that outdated iLvl epic piece of gear faster, but in the time it took you to earn that Valor, you could have farmed any mob in the entire game for 15 minutes and bought one with gold, as they're much easier to come by now-a-days.

EDIT: Now that the Timeless Isle is Live, it's even more apparent how easy it is to get Timeless Coins. Ex: The hourly Rare Shark Evermaw along with the Pirate Ship summoned with his loot has given me ~2,500 Timeless Coins each time (for both combined) with a total of about 5 minutes spent.

Like many raiders I went into patch 5.4 valor capped, and given the lack of valor gear this is pretty much your only way to spend valor in this patch. This obviously isn't ideal if you have gear to upgrade, but it can be a good source of 535 epic gear. By purchasing Burden of Eternity and using it on Timeless tokens, you get yourself a handy piece of loot that is equivalent to a heroic piece from the previous tier. ~~For trinkets, which are notoriously hard to come by, this is a great investment.~~ Can no longer be used on trinkets, but still works on everything else

On a side note, make sure you purchase Kukuru's Cache Key if you're hunting for Burden of Eternity, you get a ~~better~~ chance of looting one from the treasure chest, along with some timeless coins, than just spending 50,000 on Burden of Eternity. May no longer be the case since the nerf, but having tested this on 3 toons, I managed to get between 2-4 burdens for the 50k coins spent, plus Bonkers and a LOT of timeless gear, so still well worth it.
