this is right by the alliance starting area, making them easier to catch right off if you're alliance rather than horde. However, the alliance start on the bottom left vs the bottom right, so as horde it's easiest to fly at 90 and farm a nice coral adder... but still do-able at 85.

As of 21/Oct/2012 the Coral Adder is not part of the Pandaria Safari accomplishment!

As far as I can tell, the coral adder doesn't appear as an add in battles in the Jade Forest, so it must be collected directly. It's fairly common in the Bamboo Wilds, but because it's such a small area, pet hunters looking for rare quality pets sometimes deplete it of spawns.(##RESPBREAK##)2056##DELIM##adashiel##DELIM##

I am not sure if it's a bug but i cant fight any of those. They are the same named ordinary critters. Beside of those i havent found a fightable Coral Adder pet...

When I got to The Bamboo Wilds I immediately saw two of these that were catchable. Both were poor so I ignored them thinking to get at least a common quality. some 45 minutes later, I've yet to see another catchable one. =/ I've been killing all the critters I've seen and they're all just respawning as non catchable.

I can confirm that clearing the area of any present battles will definitely force spawns. There weren't any Adders up for me when I arrived, however, after making a few rounds in The Bamboo Forest battling the current critters two Coral Adders popped up for me at 64, 81.

Looks like it always comes when you do not try so hard. I camped the area for about a day, killed critters and all and didn't see a sign of a Coral Adder.
Then, today, I went there without expectations, killed about 5 or 6 critters and saw a battle pet Coral Adder spawn right in front of me, at 63,85.

Update: I had just posted this here when another one spawned at 64,85.

I found this adder in a cave near a fountain in the Jade Forest at 66, 82.

Coral adder seems to be a rare battle pet but not rare as a critter, spent 20 minutes killing every battle pet/critter in the area, the cave is filled with Coral Adders and so is area outside.

But do not give up fellow tamers. after 20 minutes a uncommon coral adder finnaly poped up in my sight.

I am not so picky since it is a ugly snake so Uncommon is just great.

But if you want to capture it, fly around in the area marked on the map, kill every battle pet/critter you see and you will catch it no sweat.

Caught one in 10 mins of work. When I arrived, there were 0 spawns, up. Went to wowhead, realized they were "rare", forced a spawn with 10 mins of work.

First 8 min: Flying around staffing other battlepets in the vicinity to death.
Last 2 minutes: Return to zone only to see 3 spawns up suddenly.

Just to note.. you loose quite a bit of area if you complete the quests as an alliance in the moonwater retreat area. It CRZ's to no coral adders after you finish the final quests with the Pearlfin village guys. You can get right on the boundaries and see quite a few, but as soon as you go into the area they disappear.. Has been very aggravating. I was able to snag one who got to close, but I have yet to find more than a poor.

These will spawn as secondaries in the Timeless Isle, as well, whereas on the mainland they are primary-only.

As of Patch 5.4, the best place to farm this pet is on Timeless Isle. Instead of wasting your time trying to force a spawn on the primary pet in Bamboo Wilds, just go to Timeless Isle and battle any pet you find there. The Coral Adder spawns as a secondary pet frequently. They do NOT spawn as a primary on Timeless Isle, only as a secondary.
