If you belong to those who combine raising fishing and cooking at the same time, this is the fish to focus on for getting your cooking started (up to 50), as it is a 100% catch if you neglect those rare boxes/potions you occasionally fish up aswell.

Much better and faster than to focus on Raw Brilliant Smallfish.

Working on the Oceangrapher achievement, I fished one of these up just outside of Ratchet. I'm sure there are many other places that work but I picked a low level area for this low level fish.

Also doing Oceanographer achievement, got it on first cast and again and again. Easy to catch.

Raw Slitherskin Mackerel sell price 1c. If you cook it you get Slitherskin Mackerel sell price 1c. What a rip off, it should be at least 2c.

For Alliance, it's definitely worth your time to sail to Rut'theran village by Darnassus. Fishing on the coast there brought in many many of these fish tonight!

If you fish in the water between Ammen Vale and Azure Watch, you'll catch nothing but Raw Slitherskin Mackerel. (Once your fishing skill is up to about 25 so you no longer catch weeds, sickly fish, tattered cloth and driftwood.)

This seems to be the only fish you can catch in the Goblin starting zone, The Lost Isles

The North Coast (North of Solliden Farmstead) & Whispering Shore (North of Garren Haunt)
both in Tirisfal Glades are also great spots to fish up Raw Slitherskin Mackerels
