Is it just me or does anyone hope to see the Bobber's from the fishing vendor in dalaran to turn into toy's like this rather than 5 usage ones ? I would really like the murlock bobber but too expensive in time considering it's short uptime.

Hmm... if it's a toy, why does the text say "Max stack: 20"? That would seem to imply it's a consumable, so how would it be both? Would suck to get that as a toy, then lose it after 20 uses or something O.o

The next patch shall bring the 6 lures of the fishpocalypse. This shall bring the wooden pepe, known as pepo to it's malevolent creator, and is the lure of impersonation. The fish shall believe it is simply their old friend, pepe, coming to visit, only to be proven wrong at the fatal moment.

Fished this up in Highmountain, Sylvan Falls (the large lake at the top). For the record, I'm at 800 fishing, and using the Underlight Angler.

edit: bad news, folks. This bobber is currently bugged. The bobber lands in front of you like it should, but the fishing line goes far off into the distance somewhere. The bobber never actually moves, so you can't fish anything up. Also, it's HUGE. I'm assuming it's not supposed to be so large.

Received this today from Azuna. Couldn't really fish with it since it was bugged and never "caught" any fish with it.

Also, not stackable with the Oversized Bobber. :(

I fished this up in open water at Nar'Thalas Academy in Azsuna. It took me about ~90 casts. Beware this bobber is bugged. Fish never bite (you won't see the bobber sink animation) and your line is way off in the distance.

6+ hours, 5 cans of worms, 3 tugboats and 2 cat heads later i finally fished up the Pepe crate.
Conclusion: These bobbers are NOT Smart Loot so you will get duplicates while trying to get your last crate.

Had 1160 fishing (800 skill, +60 artifact pole, +200 lure and +100 hat from WoD fishing shack) the entire way and i only fished in open water. I fished for 4 hours in the druid order hall, 1.5 hours in Highmountain (Sylvan Falls) and finally an hour in Suramar (pool next to Shal'aran/memorial) where i eventually got the Pepe crate.

They are both sold from Conjurer Margoss, the Drowned Mana can be fished up at the little floating isle where Conjurer Margoss stands on. You can reach the little floating isle with a Goblin Glider Kit, just go to the little hole in the wall between Magus Commerce Exchange and The Violet Citadel. (for some reason i can't make a waypoint to it, TomTom just points it in wrong direction) But should be "/way Dalaran:Broken Isle 33.0 35.0 Dalaran " if it get fixed at a time.

I was fishing for a long time in Stormheim and caught Crate of Bobbers: Wooden Pepe. Few minutes after I caught Crate of Bobbers: Cat Head. So I think it's totally random about when and where you're gonna fish these things.
(and for the record: 1020 fishing lvl without fishing artifact)

So far I fished up 2 cat heads, 4 can of worms, 4 tugboats and 0 pepe ... not sure if just unlucky or if it has smaller drop chance

edit:over 9000 casts and still nothing ... :(

edit2: finally got it, take me about 9000 - 10000 casts ... for info I fished up 14 Tugboats, 7 Can of Worms, 9 Cat Head and then finally Pepe ... so kinda unlucky i think :D gl all

Just curious if this could be fished up from Margoss's Retreat. Since Margoss's Retreat is technically in the Broken Shore I think. I'm not sure because I've been in a large group for a few hours today farming drowned mana but i haven't seen anyone get any of the bobbers there other than the ones you purchase.

Not sure if this was just a coincidence, but I fished up both Crate of Bobbers: Cat Head and Crate of Bobbers: Wooden Pepe within minutes of each other while fishing at the little spot that looks like a floating wreckage pool (but isn't an actual pool) at 42.8 17.1 in Stormheim. I was working on the rare fish achievement (some claim this is also a good spot for those).

I just fished this up in Val'sharah. So unlike wowhead states it can only be fished in aszuna, highmountain, suramar and stormheim, it can be fished up in all the zones. I got it around 52:67.

got mine at 46.9, 52.5 in stormheim after 18 casts using the artifact fishing pole, weather beaten fishing hat and the hat buff. no lures (other than the hat). caught on the same hook as a mackerel and was using the murloc bobber. i read all the posts on these guys and tried a couple locations. i've fished up probably 50,000 or more fish this expansion and had not seen a single bobber crate. when i went back and looked at the locations, i found out that 85% or more of what i had been catching was at one of the supposed locations to fish up bobbers in suramar (while leveling my fishing pole). so, i caught literally thousands of fish at one of the listed locations. my theory? has nothing to do with locat1on. i think it just has a chance to happen in open water. looking through other ppl's posts, it either hasn't been caught out of a school or it's very slim. i don't remember seeing any posts where someone caught a bobber from a school. if they did, it's hard to say without being there if that's what happened. it's possible someone could have caught one and -thought- it came from a school. sometimes you cast out again after catching the last fish. i'm sure sometimes your cast lands outside the school and you don't know whether it was in the school or not. i think ppl are catching them at the locations posted because ppl look them up and that's where they go because someone else caught it there. i picked a random spot in stormheim because it wasn't listed as a location for catching these things and i seem to have caught the rarest one judging by comments.

anywho.... i think your best bet for bobber crates is to just pick a location you like with fish you need and start casting in open water.

Seems 7.2.5 increased the droprate of these toys, I fished up all the crates within 1 hr today on patch day, I had never caught any before this but I fish alot. Caught all but pepe in stormhiem ( flew to azuna for change of scenery and caught pepe). All in open water.

In 7.2.5 the drop rates for the following toys have been massively increased.

Crate of Bobbers: Wooden Pepe
Crate of Bobbers: Tugboat
Crate of Bobbers: Cat Head
Crate of Bobbers: Can of Worms

You can fish them from any open water in the Broken Isles but also at Margoss's Retreat in Dalaran.

I think they added 7.2.5 that you can fish up these from the ''Margoss's Retreat'' lake (Drowned Mana lake). Fished pepe/cat and worms from there like in 3 minutes.

Fished this up in open water in Val'Sharah. Then 3 casts later I fished up Crate of Bobbers: Tugboat and 5 more casts later - Crate of Bobbers: Cat Head. Considering I have several characters with maxed fishing, that have been regularly fishing all over the Broken Isles, and I hadn't seen any of these toys until today, the drop rate increase in 7.2.5 must be pretty massive.

I got all four bobbers in under 10 minutes of fishing. All I did was, go to the quest area for Slippery Stormrays when it was active in Stormheim, I then instead of picking up the boom item to throw at the pools, I fished out of slippery Stormrays pools. A. They never go away, so you can fish in them as long as you please, B. I got all four bobbers in under 10 minutes fishing in these pools. I hope this helps you get your four bobbers including the Pepe ^^

I have just fished this up at Margoss's Retreat standing next to Conjurer Margoss in Dalaran after the 7th try.

Just fished up Crate of Bobbers: Can of Worms as well.

Also got: Crate of Bobbers: Cat Head and Crate of Bobbers: Tugboat after each other within like 5 minutes.

Fished up this and Crate of Bobbers: Can of Worms from open water (no pool) in Stormheim at the Bilgefin Shore (80.7, 56.4) within three casts of each other, with about 380 fishing. The RNG gods are never as kind as this, so I think it's safe to assume that the low drop rates listed for these items are not quite so low, in reality.

EDIT: Less than 10 minutes later, I now have Crate of Bobbers: Cat Head as well, still in the same spot. If you're wanting to get any of these, and are put off by the listed drop rates, don't lose heart! They don't seem to be less than 1% as Wowhead implies, certainly.

EDIT(2): Again, less than 10 minutes later, fished up Crate of Bobbers: Tugboat too, and still in the same spot. Maybe I found some sort of magical square of open water that's filled with bobbers, who knows? In any case, this might be a good spot to try! Starting with under 384 fishing (only supplemented by Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000), I went back and counted; it took me just 55 casts for me to get all four non-vendor bobbers, putting me up to just 399, and netting me a bunch of Silver Mackerel and about a dozen Stormray in between. Either the catch rate on these has been buffed, or the 0.2% drop rate is the result of a lack of reporting.

Fished this up in the Agatha cave, the cave where the quest leads you to save Levia, took me 5 throws with a fishing skill of 24, didnt know they could drop so was probably just insanely lucky, got both pepe and tugboat at the same time.

Well, I think I just was extremely lucky. Fished up the tugboat bobber and then fished up the pepe bobber back to back. Fished the both up on the island where Conjurer Margoss lives.

I fished up 3 different crates in 10 mins from the giant Mossgill Perch school in Moonclaw Vale with 615 fishing, with two of those caught with one cast! Pretty handy spot to level fishing too as it doesn't seem to end
