I have the legs and I think the belt. Level 39 shaman. Why are the boots and chest such low drop rate? I mean, by the time you get them your char will prolly be a lot higher anyway and have found better. BoP too, so you cant even pass down to a alt.

I think I have seen one person who won 3 parts of the set and used them at once (friend of mine, different runs) including the pants, and have heard of someone who was a couple of levels higher than they should be for with the full set... seems he had tanked there and always rolled need on pieces he didn't have, even if someone else needed it way more.

I got 3 parts and I'm lvl 40: the pants, the wristguards and the belt. I'm not running SM anymore to get the rest. It seems to be a pain to get full set and its probably not worth it since there's better items waiting in a couple of levels.

Leggings, chest plate, and boots are really the best ones. Make sure to get herod's shoulder and helmet, and you're set for those armor slots till 50.

This set is godly in 30-39 PvP i had one and almost had full set (didnt have chest or boots) but i owned and got from nothing to sergeant major!

I use this set on my level 40 hunter and it pwnzors, defintiely a wise choice for mail wearers 30-39 and mail wearers 40-45 (hunters, shamans) hehe

I have a hunter that ran Sm about 7 times just so the pants would drop. Then on the 7th run and it did I was jumping for joy. Everyone knew I wanted it so I rolled need.. but so did a pally. He won it with 50+ higher roll than me and I just stared at him. He was from my guild and I was talking to him for a while about how I badly wanted them. He said they where extremely good for a pally. He was level 40.. I was 42.. the chance of me going back where much less.

Moral of the story - Pallies can where plate so don't roll on a mail item if a hunter is in your group and both of you are over 40.

im a lvl 40 mark hunter, i started running SM at i think 33 i got the helm/legs/belt/bracers really fast. took a few tries the get the hands(i ended up with 2 sets of belts/hands) it took the longest to get the shoulder off OG in ARM. i have yet to ever see the chest or the boots even drop.

This set as a whole is pointless to get, However parts of it, such as the pants, chest, and boots, are the better pieces, the rest are easily replaced, I would also recommend getting the Gauntlets of Divinity (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7724) Herod's Shoulder (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7718)and the Raging Berserker's Helm (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7719) This is very much a twink Warrior/Pally set, Hunters that roll on these are retarded, Boots are the only real thing that help and even then should be passed to a Warrior/Pally. Also a great set for Enhancment Shaman. If you plan on twinking a Warrior/Pally I recommend getting the Pendulum of Doom (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9425) It also looks nice with the set.

I had the full set with my paladin. Really great set! Only thing is that the belt, gloves and waist is so much lower level so you can change them for better before then rest od the pices even drop for you.

The drop rate for the Scarlet Chestpiece and Boots are extremely low. You'll most likely find yourself checking the AH for those 2 pieces.

If you're interested in having a Level 39 Twink Warrior/Paladin, you'll definitely want at least the Chest/Legs/Boots. The overall set bonus isn't the best, but for RP purposes or for those who want to go the whole way, as earlier suggested, you'll want to also get Herod's Shoulders (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7718), Raging Berserker's Helm (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7719), and Aegis of the Scarlet Commander (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7726).

Helm and Shoulder can't be equipped until Level 37, Leggings at 38, Shield at 39.

Almost all stats associated with this set are for aimed for Warriors, Paladins, and Enhancement Shamans in the low to mid 40s.

i have gotten all of the drops except for the chestpiece that is all i need.i have ran cath like around 100 times trying to get the piece but it never dropped.remember when ur trying to get the chestpiece make sure u have alot of patience remember paience is a virtue!

I got it for my warrior who still doesnt have the chestpiece, the legging i tried to compare to Duel Reinforced Legging http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9625 but it adds nothin, i actually chose the legging,
BTW the axe is a rare drop, i got mine at 5th run. and the drop rate is about 9%. so the set in order are(wutever the monster drops it): 3%, 0.7%, 2.5%, 1%, 60% and 20%

IMO the best armor and weapons you can have from the SM for twinking a 39 ret pally is: Raging Berserkers Helm, Herod's Shoulder, Triune Amulet, Scarlet Chestpiece, Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade(just for fun), Gauntlets of Divinity, Scarlet Leggings and some good high lvl 30's rings...and for weapon: Ravager or Mograine's Might...All this is from SM, which is a great place to twink a lvl 39 ret pally...

Fyi, it's not the chestpiece that's BoP. It's the leggings and the boots. Note that the leggings drop off Herod and the leggings drop off the mage boss of Graveyard (forgot name) and various mobs.

This armor set does not include Herod's Shoulder, Raging Berserker's Helm, Aegis of the Scarlet Commander, Mograine's Might, Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade, Hand of Righteousness, or Ravager; those are all boss drops from Scarlet Monestary that players with the armor set frequently equip,- and they aesthetically match the look of the armor set- but they are unrelated. So don't be confused, since most screenshots also include one or more of these items.

The stats are meant for an all around warrior, thus, it is good for both prot and ret paladins, however, the set bonus seem to suggest that the set was meant for tanking

the reason you can tell it's not pure ret paladin gear is it has agi rather than crit

agi contributes to damage migation where point for point, crit rating would be better for DPS

Well you know what guys you dont have to go buy everything from the ah just do a lil farming and get the xp while your at it. I have had the full scarlet set including ravager, herod's shoulder, raging beserker helm, the tabard and every other boss drop since lvl 33 on my ret pally. I even got the Chest and the legs dropped in the same run.

Actuallty, none of these items can be classified as twink items for lvl 39 warriors or paladins.

Bracers, belt and gloves are out of the question. For the legs, you'd be much better of using Firemane Leggings or Legguards of The Vault with a legpatch of your choice (I know some of the above comments were made pre BC).

Though Blood-tinged Armor is only available to Horde, it has superior stats to the Scarlet Chestpiece, and furthermore it's item level is above 35, so you can put +6 stats or 150 health on it. For boots, I would go with these and put Boar's Speed or Surefooted on them. So yeah, it's a nice set, but not twink. ;)

Guys: The Scarlet Set, whilst *okay* at the moment, NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED!!

In Patch 2.3, all old world loot was meant to be revisted. Two entire SETS got missed out - the scarlet set, and the defias set. Both are all static drops from one or two mobs inside the instance, and yet neither were upgraded!

We need to push on the forums that in patch 2.4 this set, the Chain of the Scarlet Crusade, gets upgraded into a 'real' set. Not some #$%^y set with crappy pieces (ie boots...belt...wrist), crappy item levels (ALL of the BOE's are below level 35..../cry) and even crappier set bonuses (+10 armor?!?!? What is this!?!?!). A real set, which can actually be reliably used at this level.

Please, create topics on the forums to push for this. I already have, and am waiting for more supporters of this set to create topics to the devs, so that this set (+ defias) will get upgraded.

In my honset opinion, this set is best for protection paladins, 5+ shadow res., 15+ attack power to undead, and 10+ armor. this set is best for pallies before they get plate.

This is an excellent set for an Enhancement or Elemental Shaman to start of with at level 40. I personally play Enhancement and I'm gonna get it asap. This amount of strength and stamina will help me tank for sure.

yeah, hunters don't use STR for any reason other than being Survivalist.. which is when you arenas. Even then, most real PvPers don't use STR either. Lawl.. hunters complaining about mail items that they should get.. think about it. Who needs STR that wears Mail after level 40.. who? Shamans.. they're built like Fury Warriors/Ret Paladins/Armored Rogues that is able to wear mail items.

So, if you're a hunter that rolls for this.. you should stop playing this game and play.. uh, Trickster or go back to Maple Story. Stop playing Blizzard games where the big kids play.

Ok, let us see what i mean about this:

1. as a MM hunter with agility enchants granted by my friend, i got an insane Ranged AP, really, the bear can't keep the aggro away at 40 even as it have growl rank 4 (which u learn at 40, i quess) so i did decide to get these pants, why?

-i got Nightblade for some unknown purpose in my bag, used.. i dunno why, so now i use this IF the enemy come's marching to me

-the strength gives Meele AP, which i need in BG for grinding honor to earn my PvP rewards

-the armor make me survive longer, so i can run alot more before i have to Feign deaht

and for SERIOUS roleplayers, (that can wear mail, and can spend around 10-30 hours getting the best of the best roleplaying armor for a purpose) can get this and Cursed ashbringer, then you can sit down around in SM, pretending to be a:
Bodyguard
Champion
Lord

I got the full set for my lvl 38 (atm) warrior. I want the bracers of divinity, and the bracers from first boss in uldaman and hope they have of the tiger or of the bear, and the waist i want the one from Razorfen down. right now I havent enchanted anything of the set. Ohh and for weapons I want Vanquisher's sword in main hand with mongoose and I want Dazzling longsword for offhand with crusader.

EDIT- I did. Just made a Draenei DK and got the armor. Patrolled up and down Stormwind for about an hour, and got about 5 /spit, 7 /slap and lots of /insult.

This set is definetly one of the hardest to find I got lucky on my first run to have the boots drop and after 5-10 runs more i was surprised by the low drop on many items. I had 3/6 after 10 runs I checked in the auction house and was just bluffed and to my surprise my 3 missing parts where in the auction house for less than 50g alltoghether. I guess i was just lucky the chestpiece is not easy to find with its 0.1drop rate which amazed me... blizzard makes a nice set with some of the lowest drops ever

If you're just leveling, it is almost entirely pointless to try to get this entire set.

The leggings are the only part that you will see dropping consistently from a boss (Herod and Morgraine, to be specific,) and is probably the only really one that is viable to try to get for leveling.

The belt, gauntlets, and wristguards all drop from a couple of different mobs with reasonable regularity, so if they drop by all means get them if they're useful to you.

The chestpiece is a very rare drop from a specific mob, and the boots are an even rarer zone drop. If either of these drop for you on a normal instance run, it's going to be better to just put them on the Auction House: they both sell for around 200 gold.

If you're making a twink, by all means go for the boots and chestpiece, but if you're leveling, it's really not worth it, since you could easily buy an instance run or five with the gold you get from auctioning one of them to get an item that is equivalent or better, but is just slightly above the level 49 bracket.

The armor set is very hard to get, even the chest piece and i mean, com'on a 0.2% chance of picking it up from a scarlet champion! the set is still really awsome. I'm a level 38 warrior and i have the wrist guards, hands guards, belt and leggings and also have the raging berserkers helm a herod's shoulder. i always think you look like a scarlet trooper with the set, and herods helm, shoulder, and axe

kill me if you have to but i use these on my hunter because i was getting boost for the helm and shoulders when it dropped (the tabard dropped aswell) and it was better than what i had before but i think that just because a hunter uses somthing for a warrior or paladin doesn't meen there noob it might have been better than the thing before

I'm working on a warrior atm (lv33), and got 4 peices of this set. Good set, worth enchanting some of them since your be keeping them until lv40 when you start to get plate, maybe even after that.

But something I realised about this set. For 5 peices, you get the buff 'increases attack power by 15 when fighting Undead'. After looking at the zones around where someone wearing this set would be leveling, I realised there are like no undead mobs for you to use it, lv 30-40 zones have almost no undead mobs, making this buff kinda useless (except a few in stranglethorn). Most of the undead mobs really start appearing in plaguelands after lv50.

But, for the 10 points of hit rating for all the set, its worth it.

For those of you who are looking to be a scarlet-lookalike then I suggest you go farm the Blood elf starter area for SHODDY armor. Keep in mind that the gloves and boots are not exactly like the original set and that the chestpiece does not hold the scarlet emblem.

My level 39 fury warrior hasa lmost the whole set, he just needs the boots and chestpeice, been farming sm for a long time, no luck on the chestpeice and boots there's been none on the AH on my server, sadly.

There are some good fallback items if you get discouraged looking for the whole set. The leggings are the best part anyway. Here's some alternatives selected based on looks, stats, enchant restriction, and reasonable attainability (only the bracers are rare; since they don't show, you can swap for whatever you can find):

Chest: Gelkis Marauder Chain (matches the set better even than the Archon Chestpiece does)
Cloak: for DPS, you can go with the Destroyer's Cloak (yeah, it's blue instead of red, but it's easy to get and is lvl-35+ for enchantment restriction; Khan's Cloak is Horde-only). Tanks probably prefer the Silky Spider Cape.
Feet: For tanks, the Dusty Mail Boots are good enough to make it worth some disruption in the look. However, the Ravager's Sandals match perfectly and look great on Draenei, Tauren, Troll, or Undead races. If you are any other race then you may be bothered by how odd it looks to wear sandals with full mail armor.

The full Scarlet Crusade gear has a stat advantage due to the set bonuses until you start to consider that many of the Scarlet Crusade pieces cannot be enchanted with Lvl-35 restrictions. The Mixed Set doesn't have this problem. Oh yeah, plus it's vastly easier to obtain the pieces for the Mixed Set. Did I mention that? Comparison including enchants.

Why do hunters keep needing on my items? Whenever a piece of this set drops a huntard comes and says: Oooh nice blue strenght it help me kill with axe I have it ok ? then he rolls need and of course he gets it.......

All of the Chain of the Scarlet Crusade set is obtained from the Scarlet Monastery, 4 level 32-35 dungeons at about 83,35 in Tirisfal Glades

Scarlet Belt (BoE) from Scarlet Defender (1.8%*) and Scarlet Myrmidon (1.7%), both found within the Armory and Cathedral wings
Scarlet Boots (BoE) from 22 different NPCs from all 4 wings (0%**)
Scarlet Chestpiece (BoE) from Scarlet Champion, a dungeon mob within the actual cathedral of the Cathedral wing (0.3%*)
Scarlet Gauntlets (BoE) from Scarlet Centurion, a dungeon mob within the Cathedral wing (1.8%*)
Scarlet Leggings (BoP) from Scarlet Commander Mograine (14%*), the human male boss from the Cathedral wing, and Herod (14%*), the final boss from the Armory wing

Another option for the shoulders is something like Big Bad Pauldrons, which I actually like better than Ragesteel Shoulders. And I absolutely detest the look of Raging Berserker's Helm, so I use any helm that's a Blood Knight Helm, which in my opinion looks FAR better. For the sword I've got The Horseman's Baleful Blade (Which is also on fire!), along with the Aegis of the Scarlet Commander. If you don't like the looks of the helm, another good option is the Champion's Lamellar Headguard, which only costs 5000 honor at the Horde PvP vendor.

As shown in a screenshot, THIS is probably the best looking combination between the chain of the scarlet crusade and other items. I like herod's shoulder and the Raging Berserker's Helm, but the blood knight helmet and shoulders do the set more justice.

For those of you looking for the perfect RP/Transmog Scarlet Crusader set, I believe I have concocted one of valued merit. NOTE: This is assuming you are a high-level paladin, warrior, hunter, shaman, whatever that can use mail armor that has the time for farming all of this. I did, and I ended up with a fine set, but you might not have the patience. If you do, happy hunting.

Head: My choice was Crown of Destruction, but you can choose what you wish. It drops from Ragnaros in MC40 for a 14% drop chance. One of the more difficult pieces to aquire, but it looks very good with the set.

Shoulders: Felstone Epaulets. They drop from Morcrush in Outlands (more specifically Blade's Edge Mts.) for a somewhat-tough 1/5 (specifically 22%) drop chance.

Back: Dragon's Blood Cape. Matches the Tabard almost perfectly, and like the Crown of Destruction, it drops from Ragnaros. Like Crown of Destruction, it is also one of the more difficult to aquire in this set, with a drop rate of only 13%.

Chest: Crimson Mail Hauberk. A fine looking chestpiece that matches the shoulders perfectly. Rewarded from a chain quest in the Outlands.

Shirt: I recommend a red shirt. I chose Red Linen Shirt, but any red shirt will do. Just get it from the AH or from a tailor.

Tabard: Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade, because, well, it's the Scarlet Crusade's tabard. Need I say more? It has a 3% drop rate off Scarlet Trainees, which spawn right after Herod's death. Should be easy to get, since around 20 of them spawn at a time. EDIT: No longer drops. Saddening, but perhaps you could have your guild make a mock-up of it for their tabards?

Wrists: The original set was wiped out, and so far, I cannot find decent mail wrists to match.

Hands: This item was wiped out, and so far, I cannot find decent mail hands to match.

Waist: The original set was wiped out, and so far, I cannot find decent mail waist to match.

Legs: The original set was wiped out, and so far, I cannot find decent mail legs to match.

Feet: Mercurial Greaves. A very tough piece to get, with a 1.2% max drop rate from the Dreadlords in the Blasted Lands, and 0.something% for other mobs across Azeroth. Best bet is to go to the Blasted Lands, set up camp, and farm those Dreadlords like there's no tomorrow.

Weapon: King's Defender. A little clunky looking (I prefer sleek and swift-looking swords IMHO), but hey, it seems to fit with the rest of the set, and it gets points for practicality since I am a Protadin, and this appears to be, from my judgement, a tanking weapon. Drops for a 16% chance from the chess game reward chest in Karazhan.

Shield: Bloodforged Shield. A look-alike of the now-unobtainable Aegis of the Scarlet Commander, and it's just so fricking obvious why you should get this for your set. I mean, the Scarlet logo is on the shield itself! It can't be more obvious! It's one of those famous world drops, so basically farm whatever you can in the level range of 45-55.

Though it doesn't consist of scarlet chestpiece or leggings or belt, but it looks more completed and more "Scarlet" because all gear is in the same style.

Here is what I have assembled for my Scarlet Huntress set:

Head: Stylin' Crimson Hat (Leatherworking crafted item, pattern drops in Sethekk Halls)
Shoulders: Herod's Shoulder (Herod FTW)
Back: Praetorian Cloak (Random world drop)
Chest: Inferno Forged Hauberk (bought in Shattrath, no need to farm the Scarlet Chest)
Tabard: Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade obviously
Wrist: Scarlet Wristguards
Gloves: Scarlet Gauntlets (though Gauntlets of Divinity work as well)
Belt: Scarlet Belt
Pants: Scarlet Leggings or Inferno Forged Leggings (the latter matches the Gauntlets of Divinity better)
Boots: Marshcreeper Sludgeboots (random world drop) or Boots of Savagery work reasonably well. Both look better than Revlosh's boots (which are too purplish), and are much easier to find than the Scarlet boots.
Ranged weapon: Shell Launcher Shotgun for a gun or Long Redwood Bow if you prefer a bow.
Melee Weapon: Still hunting for a good one, though Demonshear looks ok. I'm open to suggestions.

What's nice about this set is that it's ALL mail, and will be good for transmogrification for hunters. Go snatch a Scarlet Tracking Hound for a pet and you're ready to purge the taint of the Scourge.

With Transmogrify Paladin healers can use this look for quite a while. Still, finding healer gear for a lowbie pally isn't an everyday thing and my banker got my SC pieces and healer chain (incomplete) over the course of time. Still the dishwasher tabard speaks desertion from 'the cause' and I love to hang out 'RP'. Level 47 - going to try casting as this in the BGs.

I'm really disappointed about this set. I wore it when leveling my warrior and I wanted to transmog back to a scarlet set. Once I hit level 40, I was able to wear plate. Now because of them being mail, and all my current gear is plate they are ineligible for transmogging. =(

i find it strange that despite this being a set for warriors and pallies pre level 40 mail.... we cannot transmog this onto high level gear because its mail and not plate...

I put together a guide, which has much of this same information but prettier formatting and way more pictures. Feel free to visit it and give me many many stars. =P

Quite a few people have suggested various substitutions for the Scarlet set, due to the following problems:

1) The boots and chest have a very low drop rate, making them hard to find and often prohibitively expensive.
2) There's no "official" helm or shoulders to go with the set.

I've made an attempt at a comprehensive list of the viable solutions. I'll add any others that come to my attention.

Chest: This is by far the easiest piece to cover for, because the Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade is both easy to obtain and an obvious part of the set. All you want, then, is an AH green that doesn't have visible arms that look out of place in the set. You can do this on your own AH, probably for less than 10g. If you're using a chest with no visible arms, I highly recommend one of the 3 red shirts in the notes below as well.

Boots: There are several workable boots that can stand in until that magic day when Scarlet Boots appear. However, most of your boot options pick up the red/chain look of the leggings rather than matching the red/gold of the actual scarlet boots.

My favorite option is Boots of Savagery. Even better, Horde can get an identical pair, Earthbreaker's Greaves, from a quest in Auchenai Crypts. Alliance will be stuck watching the AH, though... suckers!
Fleetfoot Greaves/Flame Walkers are a good alternative to the Boots of Savagery, from BRD/BRS respectively.
Raider's Boots/Marshcreeper Sludgeboots aren't bad, but I don't like them as much as the above options. They're shorter and leave a gap on female toons btwn the bottom of the leggings and the top of the boots.
If you want a narrower boot, Wolfrunner Boots/Blackened Chain Greaves are quest items that match the Scarlet art.
Finally, Revelosh's Boots are easily farmable from first boss in Uldaman. They're the only non-red/chain boots in this list and a quick substitute, but most of the above are better matches.

Helm: Raging Berserker's Helm is the most obvious helm for the set, since it drops out of SM off of Herod, but not the only option.

Blood Knight Helm will give you the look of Scarlet Champion, but is a bit too pink for my tastes.
For a simple bucket-style helm, there's Khan's Helmet/Triumphant Skullcap or Magnificent Helmet in red/gold and Crimson Barbut in red/steel.
What I love here is Helm of the Great Chief. It looks amazing with the set, but it's a BS crafted item with an extremely rare vanilla pattern. Expect to troll trade for quite a while to find someone who can craft this. (Or you can use armory to stalk some of the older guilds on your server, looking for an old-school or collector BS.)

Shoulders: Herod's Shoulder, like the helm off of Herod, is an obvious shoulder to use, but there are other options here as well.

The best option by far, imo, is Drakesfire Epaulets. It's awesome looking and, unlike Herod's, covers both shoulders. It's a vanilla world drop, but appears occasionally on the AH since it has a higher drop rate off of vanilla Nef and Rag.
Ravager's Mantle is very similar to the Drakesfire and may be a bit easier to find on the AH. Another great possibility.
For simple red/gold shoulders, you have quite a few options: Blood Knight Pauldrons with 1 tier, Magnificent Shoulders and Bloodlust Epaulets/Mercurial Pauldrons with 2 tiers, Fiery Chain Shoulders with 3.
I don't personally like the red w/ rivets look for shoulders, but there are options here as well: Diluvian Spaulders and Felstone Epaulets/Engraved Pauldrons/Earthmender's Crimson Spaulders.

Additional notes:

A great place to start your search for weapons is Blackwing Lair. Many of the weapons feature red/gold/flame designs and look awesome with the scarlet set; a few examples: daggers (Dragonfang Blade), two-handed swords (The Untamed Blade), axes (Doom's Edge, Draconic Avenger), and maces (Lok'amir il Romathis, Spineshatter/Bleeding Hollow Warhammer). If you're not into the BWL designs, though, there are other options.

Axes: Fel Iron Hatchet is a handsome 1H axe transmorg.
Maces: Runic Hammer is a possibility, crafted by BSs for only somewhat unreasonable mats. Hand of Righteousness doesn't match the red color, but does fit the SM theme (drops from Whitemane in Cath). I mostly like it because I love how it looks with power torrent enchanted on it.
Daggers: Dagger of Suffering, Kubit's DaggerH/Kubit's DaggerA, and Lightning Dagger are good caster dagger options.
Shields: The Aegis of the Scarlet Commander is an obvious shield transmog for resto/ele shamans.
Staff: There are lots of options here, but I like Glowing Brightwood Staff/Invincible Stave which matches the colors and fits the theme.
Polearm: Blackhand Doomsaw/Lantresor's WarbladeA/Lantresor's WarbladeH is a unique matching polearm.
Ranged:
Bow: Talbuk Hunting Bow is by far the best red/gold bow.
Crossbows: Options aren't great, but there's Under-Arm Crossbow if you prefer a gold look and Shooter's Glory/Sinewed Crossbow/Bloody Crossbow if you prefer red.
Guns: lots of options here, depending on what you're looking for.

single-barreled - Ricochet Blunderbuss/Nesingwary Longrifle
double-barreled - Shell Launcher Shotgun
long scope - Megashot Rifle/Houndmaster's Rifle/Sniper Rifle
short scope - Stonifying Gun/Bound Musket/Flintlock Gun/Tracker's Musket/a bunch of other Wrath lvl uncommon guns (The first is a horde quest item. For alliance, I've listed the few you're most likely to see but if you like this particular model, check your AH for the whole list. Only the Wrath lvl guns are red; the lower lvl ones are brown.)
red/wood - Bloodwarder's Rifle
and finally, a ridiculous one - Magnetized Projectile Emitter

Shirts: There's Red Shirt, Stylish Red Shirt, and Scarlet Filigreed Doublet, but I prefer Sawbones Shirt or Red Workman's Shirt, (because of their slightly darker color) to cover up unsightly bare arms.

Cloaks: There are just a *ton* of red/gold cloaks out there, and there's no way I can link to them all. I've recommend a few common cloaks below, but you can also check the Icy Veins shaman and hunter pages, respectively, to see all your other options.

NB: If you're lucky enough to have a Horde-only ToC A Tribute to Insanity (10 player) (10 or 25) cloak (such as Sylvanas' Cunning or Cloak of Serrated Blades) left over from Wrath, they look stunning with the Scarlet set but can no longer be obtained.
Other options:

Kharmaa's Shroud of Hope - long, white with red/gold border; many with its model, but this one is available for Justice Points from a vendor
Bloodmoon Cloak - long, red with gold/steel border; quite a few with this model as well, so pick one that seems easy for you
Khan's Cloak - short, red with gold border
Silvermoon Royal Cloak - short and split, red with gold border

This set took (minus the boots and chestpiece) about 4 days to collect. With the proceeds from all of the cloth and greens that I found, I was able to buy the boots and chest on the auction house. I made around 14,000 gold off of the greens and other stuff I found in SM. (around 600 auctions or so) So, I still run SM a couple of times a week just to sell the trash that drops.

If my screenshot is approved, I'm the Tauren wearing the full set! I know, a Tauren Crusader, LOL!

A word of warning: if you're planning on obtaining the Chain of the Scarlet Crusade set (including the tabard), you may want to farm/buy them sooner rather than later. With Scarlet Monastery being revamped in MoP, there's a strong possibility that at least some of these pieces will be removed from the game. For example, the complete Defias leather set is no longer obtainable since Deadmines got revamped in Cataclysm.

Edit: As of patch 5.3, they've added the tabard back to SM (drops from Armsmaster Harlan now). As far as I know, the rest of the set still remains no longer obtainable.

I have the belt, boots, chest and gloves currently for sale on kael'thas horde, in-game mail gobsofgold. Last chance to own as complete as you can get, one-of-a-kind mog. A true classic piece of Vanilla.

Why did they even remove this set? It's just plain stupid.
Such an awesome Paladin set and it's no longer available, altough considering it's mail and you can't Tmog mail onto plate that just makes it even worse.

It seems that the uncommon items of the scarlet crusade set, are now dropping from the Big Crate of Salvage. I myself have seen the Scarlet Belt drop, and people in the wowhead comment sections have seen the Scarlet Gauntlets and Scarlet Wristguards drop as well. From the rare items there is still no sign of though.

I really think blizzard should allow warriors and paladins to transmog to this set, since it was originally ment for them right before they could get plate gear.
