I was crazy excited to use it! It sounded so awesome with the whole blending thing and summoning the scout to do my bidding and that whole blood thing just added to the excitement of the carnage I would no doubt witness. Imagine my reaction when used that it's just him running away like a big baby, arms flaying, train pulling everything in sight and when he vanished (which he does after a few seconds) all those mobs just turn back onto me.... FML ** So hot tip is if you're going to unleash this move away from your original spot . **

Drops from Salyin Warscout (a rare elite in Valley of the Four Winds).
When you use this you cast Distrazione di Salyis and spawn a Saurok in front of you that runs away in the direction you were facing for about 60 yards before disappearing.
While running it will constantly spam an aoe taunt that forces everything near you (and anything in it's path) to attack it instead.
At the same time you will be given 1 second of steath dropping you out of combat.
This is slightly better than shadowmeld as any incoming damage during and after stealth still hurts you, but doesn't seem to pull you back into combat. Obviously a poor comparison to vanish though.
As you would expect, only 1 second of stealth isn't enough to allow you to walk anywhere meaningful, so you have to make sure when you use it already you're standing somewhere that wasn't the spawn point of anything you just reset.

Much like Giglio Appassito it can only be used in the outside world on Pandaria and wont work in instances or pvp.
Not a bad item seen as you dont have to equip it and can just keep it in your bags for a moment of desperation.
Has even more potential when used with Scheggia di Arcipietra which requires you to be out of combat.

Got this about a week ago and found a rather awesome use of it was to click it, which makes you vanish and go out of combat, then use the engineering item - Campo d'Invisibilità, which can only be used out of combat, effectively turning this item into Mage invisibility for every class that uses engineering.

EDIT: Also, since this takes you out of combat, this might also reset the potion cooldown timer to. Will have to test it later to confirm.

As Warscout runs away, he will reset RARE ELITE mobs too! Which gives you quick chance to steal mob from poor and unfortunate person <3

Ok, fellow non-Night Elf Druids, this is what we've all subconsciously been waiting for.

You know that thing where a Night Elf druid is ganking people, so you go to kill them and they Shadowmeld+Swift Flight Form and /lol at you from above? Well this item lets us do it to now. It only works outside in Pandaria though so make use of this gem before the next expansion!

Managed to kill this guy three times straight. The third time netted me the Stendardo da Battaglia di Salyis. A great spot to camp for this guy is right in the middle of his patrol path, along the edge of the east side of the river at about 71.60, 51.00. That puts you about 85 or so yards away from 3 of his known spawn points and that is well within NPCScanner's detection radius.

7.0 Legion Beta - Stendardo da Battaglia di Salyis has become a toy, but the Pandaria restriction has been re-added unfortunately, making this item almost useless.

NOT changed in WoD, works just like it has since 5.3.
As of Sept. 3rd 2013 Hotfix - The Salyin Battle Banner can no longer be used inside of raid instances. The item can still be used in regular dungeons and in non-instanced areas.
As of the Feb 8th 2013 5.2 PTR patch, this no longer has an outdoor or Pandaria requirement listed on the item.

One of my favorite thingamabobbers. Not a trinket - just put it on your action bar. Now when you swoop down to mine a node, only to be attacked by pats, you no longer have to worry about some jerk flying down to mine your node while you are dealing with the issue. Also, when you attack a rare surrounded by npcs you no longer have to worry!

For instance: Omnis Grinlok, who is surrounded by three goons and a turtle, needs to be kited by melee. As you kite him, everything around comes to help him squish you like a bug. I don't know why, but I've seen npcs running from four different directions to help him, maybe he has some sort of call for help. Oh well - NO PROBLEM! I just click on the Battle Banner and all the mobs run off but Omnis stays put. Where do they go? I don't know! Into the "distance" has no meaning since they don't come back. This is an under-rated thingy which is a MUST HAVE.

Salyin Battle Banner appears to have been buffed in 5.2. It now works anywhere, rather than just outside in pandaria.

E: Later it was nerfed to not work in raids. Sadness. No more stealthing and ressing your friends.

E: With Legion, Salyin Battle Banner is now a useless piece of garbage. You will be missed, my friend.

The taunt doesn't seem to be an all powerful one. I tried it for the first time on a group of wolves near Sunsong Ranch (near a persistent spawn of a green tea leaf node). They aggroed on me, I dropped the banner, the saurok taunted them and ran, they followed him for a moment then turned back to me, and he re-taunted and pulled them away. So it's not a 'get out of battle free' total thing, but is rather useful.

And funny. :D

Got me out of an attack by a pack of the lightning-death wolves in the Vale just now. So it's more than paid for itself.

This can be quite useful in PvP. If you use it, it will untarget you from people exactly like feign death or mirror image

So I noticed this is usable in arena and as a rogue you can stealth right away after using it. My arena partner is a feral druid and we both have this item for extra vanishes! It's also pretty lol to see the warscout running around the arena.

Warning: The Saurok runs in a straight line and despawns if he hits a wall. This kinda seems obvious in hindsight, but I found out the hard way. So learn from my mistake: make sure to aim properly when using this item!

Rogue ghetto vanish since it works in BG's now. Makes a nice emergency escape for nasty situations. 9min CD.

this is an awesome disengage for all classes plus an easy way to get the heat of you and confuse the enemy id say this is definitely a must get along with shell that dismounts people and crystal of insanity the one draw back of this item (beside the absurdly long CD but how often do you need to vanish anyway?) is that you have be far away from the spawn point or you will just reengage when you reappear plus all those angry mobs that the scout pulled will come straight for you still for classes without any DE (pretty much every class but hunter, mage, rogue) this is immensely valuable worse case scenario you just need to run like hell when you reappear

I have wanted this item ever since I saw a guildie with it. I play a tauren druid, and have always been extremely jealous of the night elves and their ability to exit combat whenever they like.

So, I have two macros. One for vanishing from combat:

And one for getting out of sticky situations straight into flight form:

The exclamation stops cancelling of prowl/flight form should you find yourself spamming the ability.

Not sure when this was changed, but I could not use this inside Throne of Thunder, and a message saying "this cannot be used in raid instances" pops up now.

The supposed reason for this Hotfix was to prevent a raid exploit that would cause Durumu il Dimenticato and Lei Shen to bug out on both Normal and Heroic modes and not use many of their abilities, essentially turning them into target dummies and granting free kills. Also works REALLY well when used with a Pozione di Rocciafonda as a quick emergency escape route. The banner takes you out of combat, long enough to use the potion which will instantly teleport you to Deepholm right next to a portal to either Orgrimmar or Stormwind.

You can activate it in random BGs, and the Saurok npc spawns, but does it make opponents lose you as a target?

For anyone wondering...
1. You can realm hop and keep killing him until he drops it. (These rares aren't the type that give you loot only once a day.) My pally just killed him about 10 times before I got one that dropped it.
2. Doesn't matter if the group you join is a party or raid. (I joined an SoO raid and it dropped)...so, feel free to server hop in those garrison groups.

New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!

Not only has this item been nerfed to be useable only in pandaria as of legion, but now it doesn't even work any more.

Its effect should be to get you out of combat, reset the mobs or whatever, well, it doesn't, so absolutely pointless now.

With MoP Remix around the corner, it might be worth looking into some of these items that are limited to Pandaria only.

Corno da Battaglia An AoE that does no damage but will aggro everything in a 40-yard radius around you. Useful for rounding stuff up
Stendardo da Battaglia di Salyis Works a bit like a Rogue's Vanish, if you find yourself in a tough spot, and will drop you out of combat
Suggello dell'Eterno Guerriero 90% of health and mana regen over 6 seconds
Elmetto da Sgobbone Maledetto Makes you swim really fast and gives underwater breathing
Gioiello Verde Acqua An inferior version of the above
Essenza della Brezza Whenever you press jump you go forward about 5 yards. Makes you a little bit faster and useful if your class lacks mobility

Has anyone been able to confirm if these toy items can drop of their rares in MoP remix? Killed the warscout like 6 times already and so far nothing. I know it's available from the vendors, but anything I can get elsewhere is less bronze I'll have to farm later.
