After you kill Durumu, use this item in the same room.
Wait a moment, and candles will light up around the room. A fel fire circle will appear at one side of the room. Use the floating grimoire.

Candles will light up various lines connecting the candles.
Green lines correspond to the "Fel" , Orange to the orange , Purple to the purple located with in the fel circle.

This is where math comes into play. Count the number of lines that intersect one candle point to another.
3 Green lines means you have to click on the fel fire to imbue yourself 3 times. (See the counter at the top of your window).

Count the lines; click on the flame of the same color. For example, if you see 5 green lines and 7 purple lines, imbue yourself with the same amount.

After you have the correct corresponding number embed on you, then click on the grimoire to proceed to the next puzzle.

When you get to the point with a lot of lines. You can do math instead of counting.
Each line has 2 ends connected to a candle, so if you count lines from all candles, you have counted all ends and must divide the number by 2.

There are 16 candles. If all candles are lit, that will give 15 lines from each candle (you can't connect a candle to it self).
16 x 15 = 240 ends = 120 lines.

In my case the outer ring was made of green lines, which is 16 lines (32 ends).
There were 3 red lines (6 ends).
If we substract the red and green lines from the total possible amount of lines we get: 120 - 16 - 3 = 101 purple lines.
