Notable Characters

Merithra

Merithra is Ysera's daughter, and Aspect of the Green Dragonflight. Merithra has struggled with her leadership position in the past, but she's slowly growing into herself - with the help and support of her loved ones.

Despite feeling daunted by her role as Aspect, Merithra has always played a leadership role in the flight. As an example, it was she who established the friendship between the Green Dragonflight and the Maruuk Centaur.

Ysera

Ysera was the previous Aspect of the Green Dragonflight. Alexstrasza's clutchmate, Ysera fought Galakrond alongside the other original Aspects.

Ysera died during the course of Legion, and her soul was sent to Ardenweald, where she became bound to the realm. Though Malfurion Stormrage has taken her place in Ardenweald, allowing her to return for now, this is temporary. Ysera is still connected to Ardenweald and the realm of Death, and will have to go back to the Winter Queen sooner or later.

Gerithus

Son of Merithra, the Aspect of the Green Dragonflight, and grandson to Ysera, the Green Dragonflight's former Aspect, Gerithus is often seen by Merithra's side, and plays an active role in the leadership of the flight.

Recently, Gerithus was captured and tortured by Fyrakk. Though he has since escaped his ordeal, he remains badly affected by the experience.

Alexstrasza

Alexstrasza is the Queen of the Dragons. In recent times, Alexstrasza has come to express humility and regret for past actions - in the way that the Dragon Aspects dealt with the Primalist Incarnates, and her own order to infuse primal dragon eggs with Order magic.

Alexstrasza is still determined to perform her duty as guardian of Azeroth, and hopes to find a way to restore the Dragon Aspects' power.

Vyranoth

Previously the Ice Primalist Incarnate, Vyranoth's support of the Primalists was ideological, and even Alexstrasza has come to admit Vyranoth was right about some of the Dragon Aspects' actions.

Despite their troubled past, Alexstrasza and Vyranoth have recently rekindled their friendship, and are both determined to save Ardenweald from Fyrakk's assault.

Tyrande Whisperwind

Leader of the Night Elves, it was Tyrande who planted the seed that has grown into Amirdrassil, and the growing World Tree represents her hopes and dreams for the future of her people.

Tyrande has suffered a great deal in the last few years. Her home, Teldrassil, the last World Tree, was burned in the War of Thorns, and many of her people died in the flames. Those Night Elf souls are now infused in Amirdrassil, but Tyrande's love, Malfurion Stormrage, will not see the tree grow with her, as he is currently in Ardenweald in exchange for Ysera's soul.

Cenarius

The Wild God Cenarius is the patron of Druids. Worshipped by the Night Elves, Cenarius taught Malfurion Stormrage the secrets of druidism around the time of the War of the Ancients. He is also close with Ysera.

Like all Wild Gods, Cenarius' spirit is tied to the Emerald Dream.

Q'onzu

Q'onzu, the "Loa of Change", is a bit of a mystery. A Wild God who self-identifies as a Loa, they tend to speak in riddles and hints, and are said to have lived among the mortals of our world in the past.

It is unknown whether Q'onzu went by a different name while on Azeroth, or if we've heard about them before. However, we do know they adopted the title of Loa from their first worshippers - the Trolls.

Fyrakk

Fyrakk is the Fire Primalist Incarnate. He is already the most aggressive and hot-headed of the Primalist Incarnates, but he's gotten even worse ever since he absorbed the power of Shadowflame within Zaralek Caverns.

Now free of both Iridikron and Vyranoth's influence, Fyrakk is more aggressive than ever. He has allied with the Druids of the Flame, who helped him violently break into the Emerald Dream - where he intends to claim Amirdrassil's power for his own.

Fyrakk is the final boss of the Amirdrassil raid.

Igira the Cruel

The Warlord who first allied the djaradin with the Primalist Incarnates, Igira made a deal with Iridikron long ago. Like all Djaradin, Igira is a fierce dragon slayer. Her alliance with the Primalists is not motivated by a love for their cause so much as a hatred for the Aspects, and a wish to see all the dragonflights dead.

Igira is the second boss of the Amirdrassil raid.

Completed The Coalition of Flames in Patch 10.1.7.
Completing Chapter 1 at least once will grant the ability for future alts to skip The Coalition of Flames entirely, via Rapporto Esplorativo di Shandris when starting the quest Richiamo del Sogno.

Thank you for coming to help.
I see Merithra stand up as the leader of our flight, and I am proud.
Let us venture into the Dream one time. One last time, perhaps, and see the future of the world tree secured.
Remind me how you returned to Azeroth.

Vyranoth

Speak if you must.
Why are you here?
Fyrakk has lost sight of our true aim. He seeks power and fire, not the liberation of dragonkind from the Titans' corruption.
Alexstrasza and I have spoken at length. We have achieved understanding and, I believe, trust.
Therefore, I am trusting both her and you as I endeavor to stop my brother from undoing all we have fought for.

Alexstrasza

Our flights have come together to stand against the fiery forces that would threaten the Emerald Dream.
For so long, my sister was the Aspect of that realm. And now, her daughter leads us. It is a bittersweet feeling.

Tyrande Whisperwind

The kaldorei will stand and defend this tree. We have lost too much to lose hope.
Where is Malfurion?
He rests in Ardenweald.
When the Primalists threatened the Emerald Gardens and attempted to find the nascent tree, he took Ysera's place in order to fulfill the bond with the Winter Queen.
I can sense his presence is very near, though. Just out of reach. I know he is with us in spirit.
I swore that the tree would be kept hidden and safe in the Dream. Now all we have worked for is under threat by flame.
I will not fail. I must not fail. If you do not fully understand what is at stake, I can show you.
The Dream as we know it might change forever...
How do you feel about this moment?
So much has been lost by the night elves, and so quickly. Now there is finally a chance to heal and to grow.
First we face Fyrakk. Then my dearest wish is that there will be opportunities for new growth... new life... and a new future.

I am the cool. fresh scent in the air just before the rain. I am the face you can't quite remember.
I am the harbinger of change. I am the reaper of consequence.
I serve the unending flow of Life, and I am the victim of its stagnation.
Do I speak the truth, mortal? Or do I deceive you with my grandeur? I was hoping you would tell me.

Q'onzu says: Now why would I want to stop the Dream from changing? I think I will wait and see what happens. Try not to die, mortal.The flowers slowly turn to flame. The petals are not consumed, but they burn brightly.
Who are you?
I am an elder dryad, one of the defenders of the Dream.
For ages, I have protected and nurtured these groves. Yet they never seem to grow more verdant. They merely... remain.
They hibernate. Would it matter at all if we were not here? Would these fields stay exactly as they have? Or must something dire happen for them to finally renew?
Merithra requests your aid in defending the World Tree.
Elder Cassaphine says: To aid a friend... or to seek renewal?

Chasing fire like flittering moths. Oh, how I have longed for you to witness it, Alexstrasza. This world tree, the heart of its great power, filled with shadow and flame. But now that you and your champions have gathered... Why wait? I should just end you now!
Ashendir Hartwood: The defeat of this treacherous queen would be a glorious battle. But the plan, Fyrakk! Remember your brilliant plan to humble, humiliate, and break them? Open the way to the temple. Then the tree will be yours!
Fyrakk: <Frustrated roar> Yes! And once I take what is mine... my foes will perish in flames!Vyranoth: Fyrakk will return. He cannot control himself for long, not even with guidance.
Alexstrasza: Merithra, this is your realm. Where shall we send our flights and our people to aid you?
Merithra: We most know what our enemies seek in the Dream. There are other places of power, such as the Wellspring Temple and the Eye of Ysera.
Tyrande: And the Druids of the Flame have opened the way for them all. I must know why they are here.
Merithra: Then we will begin there. Tyrande, seek them out and uncover their aims. Vyranoth, let us speak of the primalists.Chapter 2 - Druids of the FlameTyrande Whisperwind says: Fyrakk's Primalists are terrorizing the local wildlife. Show them the error of their ways.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: Help is on the way, Rest assured, we will save as many as we can.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: The Druids of the Flame may be traitors to the Dream, but they still possess the requisite knowledge to cross into it. No doubt that is why Fyrakk has made allies of them.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: I will remain here and tend to any wounded that you send me. The safety of the barrow's denizens must come first.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: Take care , These fanatics are as dangerous and unpredictable as the flames they seek to spread,Norana Morninglight: So you've arrived at last.
Norana: I had hoped to meet you, before things began in earnest.
Norana: An unassuming adventurer, free to act as you please.
Norana: We were free once. Unbound by the fetters of mortality. Perfect beings, blessed by the world's stewards.

Tyrande: I knew Norana once, Champion. I hesitated. It will not happen again.
Tyrande: Join me on the surface and we will attempt to track her down.Tyrande: Immortality... Is that truly what this is about? Is that the lie these zealots have sold them?
Tyrande: My people have suffered so much. I will not allow these sycophants to sell them a seeming eternity, built upon a pyre of innocent lives.

She stands with the so-called Prophet of the Flame, just beyond the terrace.
Tyrande Whisperwind says: We have a chance to behead this foul serpent, and I intend to take it.
Whatever ritual they seek to invoke, we must put a stop to it. Ashendir Hartwood says: As Teldrassil entered its first bloom, Archdruid Staghelm humbly asked the dragons to bless the home of the night elves, to restore what was lost.
Ashendir Hartwood says: The treacherous wyrms turned their backs upon him, denying us our immortality, denying us a home.

Tyrande Whisperwind says: Traitors! Apostates! This madness ends here!Tyrande: Though it pains me to say so, I understand how these zealots have swayed so many of my people to their cause.
Tyrande: The Kaldorei have suffered time after time. Tragedy after tragedy. The Druids of the Flame promised them relief. Purity. Salvation.
Tyrande: But it is a lie. We cannot burn away the scars we have suffered. They will forever be a part of us.
Tyrande: We must return to Amirdrassil. Our fight is not over. Not while Fyrall yet remains to threaten all we have worked for.

Merithra: If Fyrakk's aim is to take the tree, why is he holding back?
Merithra: And why place his troops so far from his goal?
Vyranoth: Fyrakk craves power. The power to subjugate.
Vyranoth: Whatever he is planning, it is a means to this end.
Alexstrasza: We must go, observe his soldiers, and learn what they are up to.
Merithra: But Queen Alexstrasza, I must--
Vyranoth: Fyrakk is my responsibility now.Chapter 3 - Ice and FireBuri says: Vyranoth? You have returned.
Vyranoth says: Buri? I had not expected Fyrakk to put you on the front line.
Buri says: I had not expected him to let us live.

During my time with the Primalists, I commanded an elite squadron of primal dragons. They were called the Claws of Vyranoth.
The four Claws were my most trusted soldiers. They all possessed extraordinary talent, which made them quite useful.

As a member of the Claws of Vyranoth, my loyalty lies with her.
Who are the Claws of Vyranoth?
Vyranoth had a squadron that consisted of her most trusted primal dragons. There were four of us. Me, Suzska. Lethka, and Terro.
Originally. it was purely a tactical decision. A general who knows their soldiers well can better apply their talents.
But beneath her cold exterior, I know she cares for us more than she lets on.
She came back. didn't she?Lethka: Vyranoth neglected my power, but Fyrakk will not. If I prove myself here, I could become as mighty as the Incarnates.
Lethka: How dare he? I alone am worthy to receive this power. Fyrakk chose me!
Lethka: I will be the one to smash the barrier to pieces! Then Vyranoth will see how wrong she was to leave us!
Lethka: Cinder Summit will serve our needs. Only I am strong enough to harness the power within that mountain. Not these... servants.Vyranoth: Buri, what did Fyrakk say of his plan?
Buri: He separated any of us he feared would be loyal to you early on.
Buri: Fyrakk is fixated on the Wellspring of Life, that is all I learned.
Buri: Terro was with Fyrakk in a cave to the west not long ago.
Vyranoth: Thank you, my friend.Vyranoth: Lethka! What have you done?
Lethka: I removed an obstacle.
Lethka: You abandoned us to your regrets. Fyrakk continued on the path to victory.
Lethka: Now, I have a mountain to explode.Gangshe: We waste precious time. Dream Render could cleave this barrier in an instant.
Fyrakk: Is this simple task too much for you? Once the Wellspring is filled with flames... my flames... it will set the entire realm ablaze. Then through that tree, all Azeroth will burn. Yet you would have me squander my power to make up for your failures?
Gangshe: I only thought... Forgive me. We will bring this barrier down.
Fyrakk: No. You will not. Fyrakk is a poor leader. His mission is doomed to fail.
Who are the Claws of Vyranoth?
By now I am sure you have heard of the Claws of Vyranoth. I was a member as well.
When we were separated, Fyrakk found me to be the most capable. He left me in charge of his troops attacking the barrier.
His mind is scattered. He cannot lead an army in his current state.
This plan was doomed from the start.
Suzska: After Vyranoth left, Fyrakk separated any who might be loyal to her.
Suzska: I was sent here to attack the barrier. I do not know where Terro and Buri are.
Suzska: But Fyrakk still trusted Lethka, and sent her to detonate Cinder Summit. She readily accepted.
Suzska: Once the barrier is gone, Fyrakk will reach the Wellspring and convert its life magic to flame.
Suzska: Lethka was always trouble, now she is dangerous.
Suzska: We have damaged the barrier, but I think we can undo some of it.
Suzska: The wayward barrier magic can be channeled to restore it.Buri: Vyranoth should be back by now.
Suzska: Where is she?
Buri: Vyranoth pursued Lethka to Cinder Summit.
Buri: After we saw what she did to Terro...
Suzska: Lethka is more dangeorus than Vyranoth knows.
Suzska: We cannot allow Lethka to detonate that mountain. If Cinder Summit explodes, the barrier will fall.Vyranoth says: Mortal! Quickly!
Vyranoth says: Go now!
Lethka says: I will enjoy burning you to ash, then melting your precious ice incarnate!
Lethka says: You threw away power for ideals. I will not!
Lethka says: The Cinder Summit's Power will crush that barrier!
Lethka says: Fyrakk... will end you...
Vyranoth says: Lethka. I failed her.Vyranoth says: You both have my thanks.
Vyranoth says: I know it was not easy.

Galenori says: A new djaradin general and his forces area laying siege to the Eye of Ysera!
Ysera says: The Eye of Ysera must not fall to fire. Merithra...
Merithra says: If the Eye has been breached, our enemies are stronger than we anticipated.
Merithra says: Do not worry, Mother. We will go there at once to defend it.Galok Wingslicer says: At last! Merithra, daughter of the fallen Dreamer.
Galok Wingslicer says: Your dream is death, and your tree will be ash!<Gerithus is laser focused on the fiery orb.>
I will not fail. Fyrakk may have beat me once...
<Gerithus roars>
I will not fail!
Merithra says: For all his bluster, he fled when he saw we had gathered here.
Merithra says: But that does not mean he will not return. We must--
Gerithus says: Go, Mother. Check on Grandmother. I will hold the defense here.
Merithra says: Thank you, son. , come with me to the temple. Ysera is inside.
We've stabilized the fire, but it threatens to overwhelm us given any opportunity. With Merithra's imbuement, the preservers and I can hold the line for now.
But my grandmother, Ysera. is the key. If Ysera is compromised, this shield will most certainly fall. This is Ysera's domain, but I only sense a tiny fraction of her power being utilized.
<Ysera's hands shake. Her forehead is lined with sweat, and her jaw set with effort.>
Please leave me, <player>. I must stay attuned to the Eye to maintain our shield.
Merithra: Mother? Good news. The Eye is stabilized, but--
Merithra: ... Mother?
Ysera: It is not... working. Why does it reject me?Ysera says: The Eye is my problem to solve, dear daughter.
Ysera says: Faithful Bodwin brings news. Follow him. Lead your flight.
Merithra says: All right, Mother. Buy me a little more time. We'll have a plan.
Merithra says: Show us, Bodwin. We'll regroup outside overlooking the djaradin base.Igira the Cruel: Galok. You have returned from your hunt. I trust the weapons I supplied you were effective
Galok turns and murders a prisoner, Brathia, a green drakonid.
Igira the Cruel: Good. Now go. Take the Eye. But briong me any prisoners you capter. Fyrakk may want them for more... "testing".
Galok Wingslicer: It will be done!Meritfra says: We don't have the forces to breach Galok's base of operations.
Merithra says: We also can't hold this defense indefinitely.
Merithra says: He wants the Eye. If we line it with traps first and then lure him here...

Gerithus

We are struggling to keep up the protective barrier. Every moment that passes, the enemy's magic just burns hotter.
Galok knows this. He expects us to fall.
What do you think about Merithra's plan?
Gerithus: All the suffering that has been endured here... We must act.
Gerithus: I will busy myself conceiving strategies for Lord Itharius and Somnikus. I believe that is where I am most useful.

Somnikus

Whether we like it or not, there will be battle--and we must face it headstrong.
I've begun rallying the Eye's defenders to anticipate this. Let us execute the plan swiftly and surely.

Somnikus says: Merithra is right. Our enemy has shown they can breach our most well-defended strongholds.
Somnikus says: I have rallied the druids here to help us, It is time to be proactive--not reactive.

Lord Itharius

I've sounded the horn for additional allies. I'm not sure how many will come to our aid in time. The Dream is under siege on all fronts.
May their arrival be swift.

Lord Itharius says: I have already sounded the horn to bring our flight here.
Lord Itharius says: On your command, Merithra, I will have them descend on the djaradin. We will prevail--together!

Ysera

Kalecgos and Jaina finally run into each other, and we get to see the two former lovers reunite over soup.

I missed this, and I am trying to find a video of this interaction. I find it frustrating that it is put in, but is so easy to miss. And no way to go back to it now that the questline is over.
