For some, crafting a weapon is worthwhile. This is because weapons are the biggest damage scalers. That being said, there is a big risk to crafting a weapon if you have access to the raid. A Heroic item level Jan'thrazet, la Zanna Spiritica with a halfway decent off-hand will beat out this staff, so only craft this if you do not have access to raid weapons for the first couple weeks. Crafting an off-hand with Pietra Rituale del Cacciatore is an option, but will not be crest efficient due to how poorly Critical Strike scales you as a stat.

Replace Low Item Level Pieces.

Early on, it is best to craft in the biggest slot you have missing item level. If you are unsure which slot to replace a safe bet is the belt or bracer slot.

If you have access to a Myth track main hand weapon, crafting an off-hand with the Pietra Rituale del Cacciatore embellishment will be the better option since it allows you to use it with Jan'thrazet, la Zanna Spiritica (via Heroic Ula'tek, the last boss of the new Raid).

Ula'tek (Heroic & Mythic)

As Fire Mage, rolling on Ula'tek is the best option but your success may vary. All of these items drop at increased item level on Mythic. On Heroic they cap out at 334 with upgrades. You are chasing Jan'thrazet, la Zanna Spiritica and Copricapo Orripilante del Custode Velenoso. Loot from bonus rolls will prevent you from getting a duplicate on the same track later, so if you go this route commit to it until you get these items.

Coiled Altar (Mythic)

The Coiled Altar also drops items at a higher item level than usual on Mythic. On Heroic they cap out at 334 with upgrades. Ideally, you roll this boss on Mythic since your early coins can go towards Ula'tek heroic. Lama Malefica Bieca is the only one to avoid. If you have all the other loot, move on.

Early Mythic Bosses or Dungeons

This is general advice, but the best thing you can do early in a season is to try and raise your item level without spending crests. Try to target Raid bosses or Mythic+ dungeons (depending on the content you are able to complete) that only drop upgrades for you, based on your current gear. If you aren't sure what to go for, try these items:

One notable exception is the Inscrutable Quantum Device, which is very strong. If you see this trinket, it's probably worth picking. Choosing a neck or ring slot item with hgih haste isn't a terrible option if your current jewelry is low item-level or poorly itemized.

Why is Servan Svincolato is rated so low? I thought it is one of the best trinkets in M+ for fire mages since we need haste.

Why is it always recommended to craft MH/OH? Takes 2 sparks either way versus the staff, but staff only takes one crest to upgrade versus 2 crests for the MH/OH.

Hello Fellow Fire Mages i came here to let you know that the Neltharion Class Trinket is a Solid A+ at minimum, i can provide 18 screenshots of the the buff procing for the 18 sec duration and also a details screenshot where it shows a total uptime of 5:38 (min,sec) in a 25 minute BH run, had a better uptime than Vessel, It literaly proc off on everything that firemage does , Phoenix flames, Ignite spread, Meteor , and Flamestrike, it is INSANE on trash and multibosses, also, Literaly procs on ever fresh combat, so please update the list so we dont get flamed in raids for needing on it as firemage
