As with any new expansion, tons of new gear will be available in Cataclysm. Blizzard has stated that they intend to bring dungeon gear back down to the appropriate "Blue" level (Rare quality), but end-game raids will (of course) still drop epics. The most important of these new items (so far) include new Tier 11 armor sets, which will be available via token drops as well as purchased with Valor Points! As usual, each class has a five-piece tier armor sets available, with multi-specialization classes having different sets based on role.

Tier 11 armor set items are available in both Normal and Heroic versions. These items are, as usual, interchangeable with their Heroic versions to support set bonuses.
New Armor Tokens
Normal and Heroic Mode armor tokens drop from Cataclysm raid bosses. Heroic mode tokens can also be purchased with
Essence of the Forlorn
.
Normal mode tokens include
only
shoulders and helm.
Heroic mode tokens include shoulders, helm, gloves, legs and chest.
Normal (iLvl 359)
Normal Tier 11 is purchased using
Valor Points
(Hands, Legs, and Chest) and by using the appropriate armor tokens (Shoulders, Helm).
Heroic (iLvl 372)
Heroic Tier 11 is purchased using a Normal Tier 11 piece plus the appropriate armor token. All five pieces have corresponding armor tokens.
Essence of the Forlorn
can be used to purchase any Heroic armor token.
