Wowhead's Patch 6.0.2 Guide
This guide covers all the content and system updates coming in the Warlords of Draenor prepatch--
before
the expansion hits.
The Warlords of Draenor prepatch is coming on
October 14th
. This patch contains many system and UI changes for Warlords of Draenor--you just can’t access Draenor content or level to 100. You can access things in the prepatch like new character models, the 6.0 prelaunch event, the Toy Box, and new raid difficulties.
The prepatch also removes some Mists of Pandaria content, such as starting the legendary questline, finishing MoP Challenge Modes, obtaining the
Reins of the Kor'kron War Wolf
, and purchasing heirlooms for Justice Points. We’ve
put together a guide
documenting everything that’s going away if you want to obtain some vanity gear and achievements before it’s too late!
6.0 Prelaunch Event
Players can complete special events in the Blasted Lands and UBRS to prepare for the new story in Warlords of Draenor.
In the Blasted Lands, players can complete a short questline to receive several rewards:
The Iron Invasion
,
Iron Vanguard title
,
Iron Starlette
battle pet.
This version of the Blasted Lands is phased--low-level players can still quest as normal.
You can easily get to the Blasted Lands in 6.0 by taking the new Shattered Beachhead portals in major capital cities.
Players can kill several bosses in a new 90-only version of UBRS for ilvl 550 loot.
Click here to see all of the special UBRS loot
.

Bag Space Improvements
Players now have an additional Void Storage tab.
In your bank, there is now a separate
Reagents Bank
. You can craft items using materials that are in this bank--no need to put them in your bags. You can also click on the “Deposit All Reagents” button to automatically put all crafting materials into this tab. This includes ore, herbs, fish, meat, and enchanting materials.
Crafting materials now stack way higher. In Mists of Pandaria,
Tin Ore
stacks to 20, and in Warlords of Draenor, it stacks to 200. Wowhead tooltips display their max amount.
Junk grey items now have a gold coin indicating they are vendor trash.
Bags come with a "Clean up Bags" option to move all the empty slots to one area.
Quest items do not take up space in your bags anymore.
Items in your bag have a border around them indicating their quality, ranging from Poor (grey) to Legendary (orange).
There are new options to determine if you want items moved to the right or left when cleaning your bags, or if you want new items to appear in your rightmost or leftmost bag.

Character Models
Most races are receiving high-definition character model options in the prepatch--only Blood Elves, Worgen, Pandaren, and Goblin are untouched. New Blood Elf models are coming at a later point.
We have put together a series of videos highlighting character models and their animations with Wowhead’s modelviewer--
click here to view the playlist
.
You can still select your old pre-Warlords model by going to System > Advanced.
The barbershop offers in-game face recustomizations now, so you do not need to spend real money on face changes. The one thing you cannot change in game is your character's skin tone.
You can use Wowhead’s modelviewer to compare your old and new character models. Just go to
http://www.wowhead.com/list
and enter in your character realm information. A 3D model of your character will pop up and you can try out different animations as well as swap between Classic and New models.
We've put together a tutorial
on even more advanced and creative things you can do with Wowhead's modelviewer!

Class and Glyph Changes
All class changes are coming in the Warlords of Draenor prepatch, except Level 100 talents and Level 92+ Draenor Perks will be inaccessible.
We have put together a series of guides organizing the spell changes for each class. We’ll also have a series of updated class guides from our guide writers on how to play your class in 6.0:
Warlords of Draenor Death Knight Changes
Warlords of Draenor Druid Changes
Warlords of Draenor Hunter Changes
Warlords of Draenor Mage Changes
Warlords of Draenor Monk Changes
Warlords of Draenor Paladin Changes
Warlords of Draenor Priest Changes
Warlords of Draenor Rogue Changes
Warlords of Draenor Shaman Changes
Warlords of Draenor Warlock Changes
Warlords of Draenor Warrior Changes
Some glyphs are now classified as Exclusive or Specialization Specific.
An Exclusive glyph means that it is one of several glyphs that modify an ability, and you cannot have multiple active at once. We have added this information on glyph item tooltips and our Warlords talent calculator will not let you add two similar glyphs.
A Specialization Specific glyph offers no benefits when that spec is not selected.
Several glyphs are now automatically learned as you level up, and we have added that information to spell glyph tooltips.
Many raid buffs and debuffs have changed. Check out this
excellent guide by Zarac
to see what specs bring which buffs now.
While Multistrike and Versatility are currently not found on gear, several modified buffs provide these stat gains such as
and
.

Group Finder
With the new Group Finder, players can create or find groups for Dungeons, Raids, Scenarios, Legacy Raids, Arenas, Skirmishes, Battlegrounds, Rated Battlegrounds, and custom content. Arenas and RBGs will not be available in the 6.0 prepatch as the season will have ended.
To access the Group Finder, just click on the Group Finder button (looks like a green eyeball). This merges in the functionality from the old Dungeon Finder and PvP buttons.
All of these types of premade groups let you start or specify a group, specify a location or instance if applicable, and a Voice Chat system.
Most interestingly, you can require a minimum item level for your group but it cannot be higher than your own.

Guild Leveling Removed
Blizzard will be changing how guild perks and leveling work in Warlords of Draenor.
All guilds will essentially be level 25, and some perks will be streamlined, such as flight path taxis moving faster instead of requiring
Ride Like the Wind
.
Due to some unintended poor behavior among players, the Cash Flow perk will be removed as well. To compensate for this, there will be more lucrative ways for guilds to finance their costs, such as having more BoE epic drops in raids.
These are the remaining guild perks:
Mount Up
,
Hasty Hearth
,
The Quick and the Dead
,
Guild Mail
,
Mobile Banking
,

Item Changes
Items are receiving a stat squish in the prepatch. You will not feel weaker, your stats will just be scaled down for visual purposes. You will still be able to solo old instances.
Several stats are being removed:
Hit and Expertise are removed and have been converted into Critical Strike, Haste, or Mastery on existing gear. In addition, all players now have a 100% chance to hit and 0% chance to glance when fighting creatures up to 3 levels higher.
Dodge and Parry are removed and have been converted into Critical Strike, Haste, or mastery on armor pieces, or Bonus Armor on non-armor pieces. In addition, all players now have 0% chance to be dodged and 3% chance to be parried. Tanks receive an additional 3% reduction in chance to be parried.
Several stats have been modified:
Spirit is only found on non-armor pieces--necks, rings, cloak, trinkets.
Bonus Armor
is only found on tank-appropriate Non-Armor pieces (necks, rings, cloak, trinkets, shields). This increases the tank's armor.
Weapons, while classified as non-armor, do not have spirit or bonus armor.
Gems, enchants, flasks, and food are also affected by the stat squish and itemization changes. For example, all +hit gems (Rigid) are becoming
+crit
, and all all +expertise gems (Precise) are becoming
+haste
.
You can swap between the Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor versions of items by clicking on the expansion names to the direct left of the search box at the top of a database page.
You can still upgrade Mists of Pandaria epics, even though Valor Points are going away. Each upgrade will take 50 lesser Charms.
Reforging is permanently going away and currently reforged gear will revert to its pre-reforged state.
Many additional item changes are coming in Warlords of Draenor, such as new secondary stats and gear that changes stats based on your spec. We’ve covered them all in our
Guide to Item Changes in Warlords of Draenor
.

Raid Changes
Garrosh Hellscream has a 100% chance to drop an heirloom for your loot spec if you have not acquired one yet.
to see a list of Garrosh heirlooms.
Siege of Orgrimmar will still have four difficulties, but the names are changing. There is LFR, Normal (currently Flex), Heroic (currently Normal), and Mythic (currently Heroic).
Normal and Heroic raids will be flexible size and scale between 10 and 30 players. Mythic raiding is fixed at 20 players. On Wowhead, you can see how a boss’ ability scales by visiting the Dungeon Journal section on a boss' WoD page, clicking on a spell (example:
Molten Torrent
), moving the slider, and then selecting the raid difficulty.
All Siege of Orgrimmar Heroic achievements will automatically convert to Mythic achievements in the prepatch.
The Dungeon Journal now features a quick list of things each role should know. We now display this information in addition to the existing spell info on our boss pages.
Siege of Orgrimmar raid drops are being refactored in Blizzard’s data. Their post-6.0 versions have received new pages in the database, so as part of our 6.0 database maintenance, we’ve duplicated all comments and screenshots onto these new pages and marked the old pages as unavailable.
Each difficulty will have its own weekly lockout. Heroic and Mythic are not on the same lockout for social and technical reasons. Read
Blizzard's Warlords of Draenor Raiding Plans
for a more in-depth explanation.
Warforged Seal
no longer caps at 10.
You can now solo queue for LFR Dragon Soul from
Auridormi
.

Skirmishes
First introduced during the Burning Crusade as a form of un-rated arena, and replaced by Wargames in Cataclysm, Skirmishes are returning for patch 6.0.2.
Blizzard discussed Skirmishes in a
blog about Warlords of Draenor PvP
, for more information on Skirmishes in Warlords of Draenor, see our
PvP in Warlords Of Draenor Guide.
.
Key Facts

They offer 2v2 and 3v3, but not 5v5

Toy Box
The Toy Box is a popular collections tool that lets you store an account-wide array of vanity items.
There are 222 total toys and you can collect a
maximum of 156 in the prepatch
.
Collecting 150 toys rewards
The Toymaster
and
Robo-Gnomebulator
.
You can access the Toy Box panel via the Collection button in-game.
To add an item to the Toy Box, all you have to do is click on the item in one character’s bag and then it’s automatically learned and saved across all characters.
Toys cover a variety of vanity items--disguises, special spell effects, summoned objects, banners, items that make your character emote, Trading Card loot.
Toys do not cover mounts, pets, gear you can equip with cool effects, stackable items, and teleports.
Several unobtainable items are in the Toy Box. These increase your total, but if you do not have this toy, it will not show up in the UI to frustrate you.
We have an extensive
Toy Box Guide
with screenshots and information on how to obtain every item, and we also have a
Toy Box Items Hub
with a special image gallery mode that you can filter by source, expansion, etc.

Transmog Improvements
In Mists of Pandaria, polearms could only be transmogged to staves. 2H axes, maces, and swords were handled separately.
On the Warlords of Draenor beta, all of these weapon types can be transmogged over each other. We tested this with a premade level 100 character buying all the 2H PvP weapons and using them at the transmogrifier.
Several unobtainable or incomplete PvP sets are having items return to PvP vendors.
Season 1
bracers, belts, and boots are once again available in Area 52.
Pandaria PvP vendors now sell Season 12-15 gear for Honor. The return of
Season 13 gear
is most notable as there is currently no way to obtain that look in game.
Elite PvP sets are not returning to vendors.
With the addition of solo queueing for Dragon Soul LFR, several
Tier 13 Transmog Sets
are once again easy to obtain. LFR gear has unique colors and was previously quite rare to see during Mists of Pandaria.

Undelete Character
Undeleting a character restores all enchantments, gems, and items. The following characters cannot be undeleted:
Characters under level 10 and Death Knights at level 55 are not eligible to be undeleted.
Characters between level 10 and level 29 will no longer recoverable after 90 days.
Characters between level 30 and 49 will no longer recoverable after 120 days.
All other characters level 50 and above are eligible to be undeleted at any time.
You can only use this option once every 30 days.
Deleted character names can be reused by the player for a limited amount of time.

Unified Auction Houses
The Auction House will be merged between factions in 6.0 on a given server. The Neutral AH has been merged in as well and now sells the same items:

Zone Changes
Orgrimmar is free of the Kor’kron presence. The Troll area is once again free and there are new Tauren and Troll guards.
Blasted Lands portals have been changed to Hellfire Peninsula Portals.
New Portals have been added in capital cities to the Shattered Beachhead in Blasted Lands. This is where the 6.0 prelaunch quests start.
Three old instances are receiving updated bosses and art. You can visit the Warlords of Draenor versions of these zone pages to see their new bosses and screenshots:
Blackfathom Deeps
,
Razorfen Kraul
,
Razorfen Downs
.

Additional UI Improvements
There is a new graphics setting specifically for Raids and Battlegrounds as well as Anti-Aliasing. These are found under Systems > Graphics.
Instead of one long list of keybinds, there are separate panels when you open up the Key Binding section: Movement Keys, Chat, Action Bar, MultiActionBar, Targeting, Interface Panel, Miscellaneous, Camera, Target Markers, Vehicle Controls, iTunes Remote, Movie Recording.
Outline Mode is a new setting that places an outline around important NPCs and objects so you can glean basic information about them without having to look at nameplates or tooltips.
When you move with the map open, it remains open but turns transparent.
In addition to displaying a model, each's mounts page in the Mount Journal now displays additional information. All mounts have fun flavor text and some also display their source, related profession, or related achievement. If you visit a mount page on Wowhead's Warlords of Draenor site, such as Mimiron's Head, this special information will show up on the page.
A “What’s new” screen pops up when you first log on, alerting you to popular additions such as the Group Finder and New Character Models.
Check out a complete list of UI improvements in our
Warlords of Draenor UI Guide
