1-35: All points in Mining Process. At the end of this tree, you'll open the ability to mine while Dragonriding in the Dragon Isles.

When you hit Mining (50), don't forget to pick a second tree. You will get immediate benefits from doing so and you don't spend any points to open a new tree. We recommend opening Mastering the Elements first to get the Overload Elemental Deposit, as this will give you the means to learn up to +5 Knowledge through Overloading different types of Elemental mines (but you'll have to go into War Mode to get that last point!)

Don't forget to open all the sub-specializations as they become available at 10, 20, and 30. Surveying

Mining Process: Choose this to extract more base ore and rousing essences, uncover gems, find more rare side gathers, and increase your mining speed. This is the best build for generating gold.

Mastering the Elements: Choose this if you want to specialize in Elementally-charged ores to collect more Rousing Essences and get special effects from Elemental nodes. This is also a good support build for generating money, although Mining Process is better for overall yields.

Metallurgy: Choose this is you want to learn to refine and upgrade all types of ore from Quality 1 through Quality 3 . This is not a recommended build since Refining is a huge money-losing proposition.

Surveying increases your chances of gathering valuable side gathers such as more Khaz'gorite Ore by giving massive bonuses to Perception. It also includes the 30-point ability to find Illimited Diamonds (very rarely) in Rich ore veins.

Sorting, is a straightforward "get more of the straight gathers" tree. Not only does it give huge bonuses to Finesse which helps you gather both more ore and more Rousing Essences, its 30-point ability gives you the ability to extract even more ore.

Industrialization has two benefits. It focuses primarily on Deftness, so if you're really wanting to get your mining speed up, pick that. The most important thing is that finishing out this tree lets you find Gems when you mine, not just by Prospecting. If you do Jewelcrafting , this will be of great interest.

Points 1-30 We recommend Sorting to improve your collection rate of both ore and Rousing Essences. Finesse helps with both.

Next 30 points: Invest in Surveying. Since you also get +1 Perception for every point you put into this tree on top of the bonuses, you want to get everything out of this that you can.

If you're a Jewelcrafter, you might wish to develop Industrialization earlier. If Deftness and/or the ability to extract gems isn't that important to you, you may wish to shift out of the Mining Process tree to one of the other specializations, such as Metallurgy.

Molten: Decreases damage from mining Molten deposits by 50%. This is huge for those without a natural immunity or ability to dispel magic.

Hardened: +25 Deftness when mining Hardened deposits. Given that Hardened deposits naturally slow down miners, this mostly just counteracts its major negative effect.

Titan-Touched: Allows you to create a return portal when you Overload a Titan-Touched node.

Primal: Primal deposits have a chance to contain Rousing Air or Rousing Frost, essences not traditionally found by miners.

1-50: Mastering the Elements. Open the sub-specializations at 10, 20, 30, and 40 (probably in order of Primal, Molten, Titan-Touched, and Hardened.

Refining isn't just turning one ore into a higher quality ore; it takes 5 ore combined to upgrade to , and then 5 combined to make . On most economies, and are selling for nearly identical prices, and is selling (at best) for 2-3 times the price of . To make converting to worth it economically, you'd need to have a market where was selling consistently for more than five times the price of . Your regional auction house may vary, but it's not worth investing in upgrading if that's the only reason you're taking Metallurgy.

The only reason to take this is for the bonuses, or if you want to make certain you have a consistent supply of ores available for your own use. In most cases, however, it's foolish not to sell the lower-quality ore to buy the higher-quality.

Points 1-10: Metallurgy. Opening this tree gives you the ability to upgrade Serevite Ore from to . Getting to 10 points allows you to upgrade Draconium Ore from to , and opens your first sub-specialization.

Points 11-30: Open the Serevite tree and invest a total of 20 points. You can now upgrade Serevite Ore from to .

Points 31-40: Metallurgy. You can now upgrade Khaz'gorite Ore from to .

Points 41-50: Stay in Metallurgy. This opens your second sub-specialization and gives you a chance to uncover Awakened Order when you refine Khaz'gorite Ore. (Since you probably won't be refining Khazgorite much, this isn't that big a deal).

Points 51-70: Open the Draconium tree and invest a total of 20 points. At 70 points, you will be able to refine Draconium Ore from to .

Points 71-80: Metallurgy. You can now upgrade Khaz'gorite Ore from to .

SereviteDraconium

Finishing Serevite gives you more skill for mining Serevite, and extra Finesse and Perception for mining Rich Serevite Deposits. The final 40-point ability gives a small chance of mining Gems in from Serevite deposits, which will be of interest to those with Jewelcrafting.

Finishing Draconium gives you more skill for mining Draconium, and extra Finesse and Perception for mining Rich Draconium Deposits. Since you mine Khaz'gorite Ore as a rare side gather more from Draconium than from Serevite, plan to focus on specializing Draconium over Severite if you want to maximize your Khaz'gorite Ore yields. The final 40-point ability gives you a small chance of looting Rousing Essences when refining Draconium Ore.
