Bosses in the Adamant Vaults

All three bosses can be stunned, feared, and crowd controlled just like the Floor 5 bosses in Torghast. Use this to your advantage if your toolkit has any of these abilities, as you can prevent some annoying casts or unnecessary damage with a well-timed CC.

Each boss has a Health % based trigger for their big mechanic. These occur at 70% and 35% health. If you use a stun right before they reach these health thresholds and DPS them down hard enough past that threshold, you can force the boss to skip the mechanic entirely!

Troz'igal the Oppressor

Boss Abilities:

Ceremony of Hatred
The caster splits their essence into 4 Fragments of Troz'igal, decreasing all damage taken by 99% for 2 min. This reduction is canceled once all fragments are destroyed.
Torturing Swipe
Inflicts Shadow damage to all enemies in front of the caster every 2 sec for 8 sec.
Soul Breaker
The caster channels harmful energy into a player, inflicting Shadow damage every 0.5 sec for 3 sec. Upon completion of the channel the player explodes, inflicting Shadow damage to all players within 12 yards.

Encounter Advice:

If the Ceremony of Hatred cast goes off, you will need to defeat 4 Fragment of Troz'igal. These will spam cast Blighted Essence, which are lots of slow moving white orbs. Dodge these and kill the Fragments so that you may damage Troz'igal the Oppressor.
Torturing Swipe is very easy to avoid and is a simple front cone attack, just side-step this move.
Soul Breaker can be avoided with a magic immunity ability if your class has one, or you can just interrupt it with an actual interrupt or some form of crowd control (Fear/Incapacitate/Stun/etc) if you want to avoid any extra damage taken.

Vault Aegis

Boss Abilities:

Ritual of Slaughter
The caster channels a shield on themselves, absorbing damage. While the shield is active an eruption is unleashed every 3 sec, inflicting Shadow damage to everyone caught within it.
Pain Bringer
Stuns all enemies within 8 yards, rendering them unable to move or attack for 3 sec.
Inflicts Physical damage to enemies within 8 yards.
Ritual of Pain
The caster channels a pain ritual causing spikes to erupt from the ground, inflicting Physical damage all player within 3 yards every second for 6 seconds.

Encounter Advice:

During Ritual of Slaughter the Vault Aegis will need to be damaged to eliminate its absorb shield, otherwise it will continue causing large purple areas of the floor to appear which will damage you if you stand in them.
Pain Bringer is a white circle that forms around the Vault Aegis. Move out of the circle before the cast finishes or you'll be stunned and take some heavy damage.
Ritual of Pain is just a series of gray swirlies that appear on the ground, so move as needed to avoid getting hit by them.

Vault Sentinel

Boss Abilities:

Soul Tormentor
The caster transforms into its Soul Tormentor form and summon 10 Deadsoul Wraiths. The Soul Tormentor form lasts 2 min or until all the Deadsoul Wraiths are destroyed.
While in Soul Tormenter form, all damage taken is reduced by 99%, and a missile is fired at a random location every 0.5 sec. These missiles explode inflicting Shadow damage to all players within 5 yards.
Tortured Stomp
Stomps the ground, inflicting Shadow damage to players caught in the effect.
Cries of the Tormented
Fears enemies within 80 yards of the caster for 5 sec.

Encounter Advice:

During Soul Tormentor, your goal is to kill all of the Deadsoul Wraiths as quickly as possible. Once these are defeated, the Vault Sentinel will be able to be damaged again.
Tortured Stomp has a very large radius, but also a long cast time. Use a stun or other form of incapacitation to prevent the cast if you don't want to run away from the boss, otherwise run out of the large circle on the ground before the cast goes off.
Cries of the Tormented should always be interrupted, as it is a VERY long fear with a huge range. If your class does not have an interrupt, use an incapcitation CC ability or an ability that removes fears. (IE: Will of the Forsaken, Tremor Totem, etc)

A small question about adamant vaults... Can you die in there? i.e. if you die will the run be over for you or can you just clear them at your own pace once you get in there?

Gilded Darknight does not appear only on Layer 12, I just had it drop from Layer 10 :D

Hey there great guide! Will be following closely to see your updates

From any preliminary testing do you have any info on the drop rates for the Conduit Upgraders or Season 2 Sockets?
Q1: Do you know if rewards are locked to a one-time weekly reward?
Q2: Related question, if you did get one reward, conduit upgrader -- could you still get a Season 2 Socket from subsequent runs?

Throwing a data point for any help. Ran with 3 people, A, B and C
A had Adamant Vaults unlocked
B had Adamant Vaults unlocked (was party leader)
C did not

A got a Conduit Upgrader
B got nothing
C got nothing

Where do you actually have to go to access them? Do you go into a run of torghast or what? I dont see a separate entrance or anything like that

Having done like 6 vaults this week, I can say with confidence that you only get O N E chance at a backpiece / shoulderpad. Once you obtain a piece, thats it, you cannot get more probably until reset.

First run I did, I saw a backpiece I wanted but didnt have enough phasma, so I killed the boss and left.
Second run I saved up phasma and bought another backpiece thinking I can just come back for the one I want.
Third to six I never saw anymore transmog items whatsoever thorughout either my Torghast runs of the Vault runs from any of the vendors or bosses.

So if you done a vault run and gotten a transmog item, there is absolutely no reason to keep doing vault runs anymore.

In my opinion it is utter bullcrap that you cant get anything from vaults once you gotten a single piece.

I can confirm that the boss will not always drop something, first run of the vault and the boss dropped 6 gold and nothing else

A little bit of advice:

Mort'regar is quite easy to get a flawless clear on Layer 9 since it's short and everything is packed tightly together. If you want to farm Adamant Vaults, it may be a good option. Of the four wings we've had access to in the past two weeks, it's probably the easiest. I'm not sure if higher Layers increase drop rates on the final boss, but it's effective for farming the vendor Transmog.
There is a randomization element to what transmog items will be on offer, seemingly depending on which vendors show up in your run, so you might have to run it multiple times to get them all.
Make a macro or macros for targeting Ashen Phylacteries and Bound Souls. If there are any left nearby you'll be able to spot them instantly, and if you target one that doesn't appear on your minimap it means you can move into the next area. This will help ensure you get through with a high completion level.
Use Torghast Empowerment in areas with a large amount of Ashen Phylacteries and weak enemies. Don't save it for elites or bosses. You get bonus score for how much completion percentage you generate with it active.
Speed is a factor, but completion is far more important. Getting 95% of Phylacteries, 100% of Souls, avoiding trap damage, opening chests, and completing the rescue events will get you more points than just speedrunning. If you need to step away, do it at the start of a floor or on floors 3/5 when progress is halted.
The back slot items cost 1000 Phantasma. I would recommend making sure you enter the Adamant Vaults with at least 850 Phantasma, as Floor 6 seems to offer about 200 Phantasma on average in my experience.
You might consider running with the Stable Phantasma Lure Legendary if you want to ensure a solid supply of Phantasma in your run.
In Mort'regar you can purchase the Ravenous Anima Cell on Floor 3, use it on the first Mawsworn caster you come across, and get the Marrow Scooper Anima Power, which will increase the Phantasma awarded by skeletons of Floor 4 by 1000%.
If you're using the Stable Phantasma Lure and the Unstable Phantasma Torment is active, you can wait around after killing a boss for the Coalesced Phantasma to spawn. The Legendary increases Phantasma looted by 25%, so every time it steals your Phantasma and you kill it, you'll gain 25% more than it stole. This allows you to farm Phantasma infinitely, with the amount stolen and looted increasing for each subsequent kill.
You "need" to run Torghast every week to farm Soul Cinders, so there's no real rush to farming this stuff unless you really want it now.

The Adamant Vaults could seriously use a rewards table like the Island Expeditions.

Just make a bunch of new recolors of previous sets and put them in there, at the least.

Really good guide. Was just wondering, Wowhead put out the post saying that the Conduit drop was only a potential from the first run of the week and I just wanted to see if your data backed this up?

Just a heads up the Broker that spawns in the adamant vaults can be the same as one of the earlier ones, so after finally unlocking it but killed one of the earlier brokers the one in the vaults was dead so was unable to buy any special items from it.

Are the Brokers supposed to have transmog available every time they show up in the Adamant Vaults? I have bought a couple of things before, but this time the Broker only had Anima Powers.

Out of interest, does anyone know if Alloy-Warping Facetor can drop in Adamant Vaults? The IcyVeins guide seems to suggest so, but I've not got confirmation of this.

Definitely not a lot of appeal, for me anyway, to do this. I tried it once and got absolutely nothing other than 10 Tower Knowledge (big whoop). If I'd planned ahead I could have bought a cosmetic back piece.

Just seems like yet another low drop chance waste of time, which is pretty much the motto for this expansion.
