How often does this tremor? Does it do it constantly, making all party members virtually immune to fear, charm, and sleep for the duration? It seems like a very powerful totem, but I asked a shaman friend of mine the other day how good it was and he replied, "Whats a tremor totem?"...I got my answer there =P

Pretty good in PvP or WC.
The druids sleep in WC is really annoying but this clears it right up.

this totem looks extremly powerfull for fighting priests and walocks, but it will be working your way about 1 of 3 or 4 times, because unless you are slowed you will run away from the totems radius by the time it pulses. i supose this is to make a counter to the ally priests "fear ward" but that is ,even if it is one target only, way superior! i think blizzard cant be avare of this problem or they would buff/fix it.

Looking through the notes here, the tremor totem only removes the Charm effects of seduction and "mind control totem" Why would it not remove other "charmed" effects like the Priest's MC? or certain PVE mobs in the Coilfang Reservoir, I think the instance was Slave pens.

sorry if this has been stated before in the past, it's just honestly kinda out there to think that it doesn't remove those effects

3.0.8 patch notes say the duration on tremor totem will increase from 2 minutes to 5 minutes.

Someone was telling me that Tremor Totem breaks Polymorph. Is this correct? I was under the impression that it didn't, but I'll have to test it I guess. =P

ive been thinking. if tremor totem now pulses every 5 secs, then, if u got feared at the right time, then couldnt u range the totem before it ticked?

When I first saw this totem, I wondered what in the world was it good for.

Then I spent time in Wailing Caverns fighting the Druids of the Fang and their snakes that can put you to sleep.

There is nothing more worthless than a Shaman sleeping while the rest of the party is taking it on the chin!

So I changed my approach by using the Tremor Totem in order to stay awake with a Water Shield to pull mana from being hit and doing Lesser Wave Heals on the tanks using Set Focus while fighting hand to hand with anything that actually reached me by targeting the attacker and sometimes throwing down a Searing Totem in order to help nibble down the various attackers.

And if ranged weapon attackers can stay in the radius, that is even better.

Can somebody help me! I can use Tremor Totem if i am enhancement shaman?
I put Tremor Totem but it didn't works.
When i put Tremor Totem i can see it in the game but it doesn't see it like other buffs in the top right corner of the screen.

Excellent totem for the Paletress encounter in Trial of the Champion. It breaks the Waking Nightmare, preventing a lot of damage from going out to the entire party. This can save you from a wipe.

For 4.0.6, this totem is being redesigned. As it stands right now:

Summons a Tremor Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster that shakes the ground around it, removing Fear, Charm and Sleep effects from party members within 30 yards. Lasts 5 min.

According to the new patch notes, the following will change:

The totem is now usable under Fear, Charm, or Sleep effects, and pulses much more rapidly, but lasts 6 seconds and has a 1-minute cooldown.

People are so quick to assume it's a nerf, when it's clearly a buff for both PvE and PvP. The issue with the old Tremor Totem was that you had to pre-empt a fear -- even when you had Tremor Totem out, it's not always going to be on the appropriate tick when the fear hits, so you may have to wait out most of the fear for that pulse to work. In Dungeons and BGs, you were giving up an Earth totem slot whenever it was out, and in general PvP, it's difficult to predict when a fear/charm is going to hit. (There are two awesome totems you're already trying to manage in PvP: Grounding Totem and Earthbind Totem.)

Because of the new redesign, it's now, officially, an instant party-wide dispel AoE. It's on a one-minute cooldown, but it's so powerful that it doesn't matter; I'm pretty sure the cooldown is only there to raise Warlock self-esteem. In PvE, you aren't likely to face a fear every minute, but when you *are* feared (or a party member is feared and finds they're running toward a large batch of mobs), you can drop this and remove it. In PvP, one minute makes this one of the shortest guaranteed anti-fear cooldowns available, allowing you time to rotate between Grounding and Earthbind.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or actually intended,
apparently you cannot drop this totem on the ground when you are "Horrified" by a shadow priest.
Since this mechanic in my eyes works just like a fear I'm surprised that I can't drop my totem while under that specific effect.

Also, I'm almost sure that the totem removes the "Horrified" effect if the totem is placed on the ground BEFORE the spell is cast.
- This is unconfirmed, anyone able to confirm this?

Now you can place this totem, while you are UNDER the effects of Fear, Sleep or Charm. Very useful, but I am curious as to whether the effect will be cleansed immediately, or if you have to wait for a pulse? Considering it now lasts for 6 secs, either way it would have to activate rather quickly I assume.

Has tremor totem always been able to be deployed AFTER the sleep/fear/charm effect has taken place?

This strikes me as being extremely powerful in a PvP context - it's essentially Will of the Forsaken for your entire party with a 1 minute cooldown and not sharing DR with anything?

I remember the legions of QQers claiming WOTF was breaking arena resulting in it's nerf. This is considerably more effective than that racial to the point where it can effectively marginalise the CC of multiple different classes, such as Priest, Warlock, Hunter for instance.

Is it too much to ask that it can't be placed while afflicted by the spells mentioned perhaps, or adding it to the DR on PvP trinkets - seems to make sense that something that can remove fear on 5 people should at least trigger the trinket of the casting shaman? Hell even a longer CD would be appreciated.

If the shaman had to calculate the correct moment to drop this to "soak" the fears for his team that'd be much more appropriate rather than being a get-out-of-jail-free card for a large number of CCs. As it is now, he can simply ignore them and drop it when they're used which requires no skill at all.

This seems particularly OP in PvP.

Consider the QQing over Will of the Forsaken - for those not aware of the history it never used to share CD with the PvP trinket - and because 1 race in 10 could remove 3 different (spammable) CC effects it was deemed so broken it warranted a change. e.g. forsaken could break mind control, or the succubus charm, or Hunter sleep, or priest/lock fear. Once, every two minutes. Now it triggers a 30 second cooldown on the PvP trinket.

Consider then, this totem. It is to all intents and purposes WOTF for your entire party but without sharing a CD, or triggering the PvP trinket. No longer do you need to perhaps *think* about the correct usage of this totem, you can simply drop it when you are feared, or cleanse your team mates. Not only does it instantly remove this effect, it prevents the effects being reapplied for the duration of the totem.

So a WOTF effect which can effect anywhere from 1 to 40 people.

Earlier replies claimed that it's needed because you'll be subjected to 54 seconds of "spammable fear" is absolute garbage. Shadowpriests can't spam fear. Locks can - so you totem out of the first one, then DR means the second one lasts barely any time at all. I fail to see your logic there, CC can only be spammed for so long and when you have an arbitrary get-out-of-jail-free card for your ENTIRE PARTY for the first longest one, that strikes me as being, frankly, churlish to suggest you are somehow at any form of disadvantage.

As has been mentioned you have wind shear to interrupt enemy casts/CC, grounding totem to negate casters if they DO manage to cast past wind shear, hex as a further interrupt and purge to remove any CC that hits your teammates. And this. Oh, and ghost wolf to give outstanding mobility. And the ability to cast while walking. Oh and earthbind totem so any melee that gets in your face won't be there for long!

You have *no concept* how lucky you are right now, there's a reason shaman are elbowing all other healers out of competitive PvP and this is one of them. I genuinely struggle to understand how any shaman can look at their class and honestly spot a flaw.

Shaman fanboys downrating doesn't make this any less true.

With Totemic Persistence talent, you can use this macro to break cc and reduce the cd of this totem to 35 sec without wasting a gcd:

In WoD tremor totem is going to be nerfed: You won't be able to use tremor totem while CC'd, so pretty much like the pre-cata version of tremor totem.
