Can someone confirm this item dropping multiple times. Both enchants that drop in this area dropped for me about 30 minutes into farming, and now 2 hours later I still haven't gotten it again. The enchants do not say unique, etc.

I believe the drop rate was nerfed. Initially people were reporting find this pattern extremely fast. I got mine in 5 minutes followed by another pattern in 3 more minutes of farming. But now it's taking hundreds of kills to get one.

I have a theory about these enchant drops.

I think these are supposed to be unique and bop, but something went wrong.

If I have one or more on my person or in the bank, I will never have the same enchant drop again, even after 4 hours of farming. But as soon as I put the one I own in the auction house or mail it to a friend, another one drops within 10 minutes. I've repeated this 4 times now and I'm quite certain this is the case.

It's also very wierd having an enchant that's not bop drop off a specific mob, leading it to easily be farmed and flood the market.

On a side note I've been making quite an easy profit selling these to people, since few seem to know about this common drop.

Update: and now that I've learned the enchant, I've never been able to get it to drop again.

I got this enchant while leveling, but have no managed to get it again after hours of farming the Damned Apothecaries. I'm thinking that it's not possible to get again after learning it. I am also killing the Cult Alchemists and am not getting another Superior Nature Resistance one either.

I farmed this up with a buddy of mine on Undermine. I'm an enchanter and he is not. When this dropped he couldn't see it and he couldn't roll on it. This will only drop for enchanters and it will only drop if you don't already know the enchant.

Here are the mobs that drop resist recipes for Alchemy (mighty protection potion), Enchanting (cloak enchant), and Leatherworking (fur lining):

Damned Apothecary (Frost)
Cult Alchemist (Nature)
Cultist Shard Watcher (Shadow)
Skeletal Runesmith (Fire)

While you're there, make sure to kill the Cult Alchemists they drop the Nature resist enchant.

The only danger here is the rapid respawn rate. Don't get caught sitting around.

I got both this and the one for 20 nature resistance within 3 minutes of killing the cultists in the area to the east of Chillmaw. It was unintended and happened while me and another player were waiting for a third member to do the group daily with. I am also an enchanter.

What's interesting to note is that while this does not bind on pickup, and (from what I've heard) can also drop for non-enchanters, it was not visible for the other member in my group and he could not roll on it.

What's even more interesting is that they both sold for over 250g. Is it just me or does 20 resistance to a school of magic seem slightly underwhelming? Is there any reason for any class/spec or role to enchant their cloak with 20 resistance or is it purely a collect-em-all enchant for obsessive enchanters?

Sells for quite abit on the Auction house, because of the rarity. Sold one for 500g according to Auctioneer Scan data, may be worth more on your server.

I think that does actually have a very low drop rate for non enchanters. However, I think if you are an enchanter the drop rate increases ALOT until you have picked up the enchant for yourself, thats if you have it on your person, whether thats in your bag or bank. If you mail to an alt or give to a friend you can loot it again! I plan on confirming this with a GM later, I'll post back if i get more info. But thats been my experience with this and other boe enchants that are mob specific. Also, it may be while an enchanter is in the group, the drop prioritizes, only letting the person with enchanting roll on it, so as to avoid ninjas, or people to benefit from the drop rate boost of an enchanter in group.

Still drops off the Damned Apothecaries for Enchanters. I got the Frost and Nature Resistance within about 10 minutes of farming.

This enchant and all 4 other Formula: Enchant Cloak Superior ******** Resistance have been removed from the game in 5.0.4. These are the ones that dropped from the Icecrown mobs. A GM confirmed this for me when I ticketed regarding auctions of these that I had up on patch night that were returned to me as a blank mail. I also checked my enchanting plans ingame and the 5 of them are no longer in the list.
