This is one of 3 new Jewelcrafting Profession Knowledge items in 10.2.

Espoir pétrifié is on top of a cut tree in the Smoldering Copse.
Poignée de petits gravillons is on the side of a cliff in an object called Défaut non poli.
Pierre onirique coalescente is in the middle of a circular tree branch just off the ground.

The Hidden Quest ID is 78283 so you can check to see if you've already looted it by running the following command.

If it returns true, you've looted it. If it returns false you have not.

If you are using the 'Rare Scanner" add-on, this showed up for me are 'Unpolished Blemish' initially, when I left clicked on the purple high-lighted stone, part of the stone wall/cliff face behind the tree where it was at way point 43.5, 33.4 - it became the 'Handful of Pebbles' for me.
