Equivalent to 230 critical strike rating at level 80, but only applies to 2 spells (albeit the two most important ones).

This has two major effects on boomkin damage output--first, it makes eclipse proc more quickly, and second it makes you even more likely to crit with whatever spell you spam while eclipsing.

Although there are tons of crit bonuses flying around during raids (moonkin aura, elemental oath, focus magic, totem of wrath, etc), more crit is always welcome. This set bonus also makes arcane mages more willing to give you focus magic.

As shamandalie27 suggested, this allows for stacking of haste over crit. Some current boomkin spreadsheets suggest that haste is flat-out better than crit, while others have the two stats on roughly equal footing. There is a soft-cap for haste at about 400, where wrath's cast time goes to the global cooldown and it becomes difficult to chain-cast the spell, and some folks argue that once your haste is this high, crit becomes more valuable again. Whether haste or crit is better is also dependent on whether you use solar or lunar eclipses in your rotations. .

Whatever the case for the worth of stats relevant to your particular gear and spell rotation, this is a very powerful set bonus. Current theorycrafting puts 2pc T7 & 2pc T8 a paltry 100-200dps above 4pc T7, making it clear that this bonus is a painful one to lose.
