I pulled a few hundred vines before I got the three items ( 幽影茄子, 不寻常的土豆, 徽记 ) and the pet 夜垦蔓芽. I was in flight form the whole time. As an anecdote I was coincidentally in combat with something every time I got an item.

Because the Darkroot Vines are involved in summoning 巴拉赛迪乌斯 there is an unusually dense amount of Darkroot Vines (and respawn rate) in the four fields directly surrounding
