Recolours and a trading post mount. This has got to stop. 😪

评论来自 jecia

I've just finished the first one and come out with the mount, I was around 260 fishing with both green 3 star quality hat and pole - my only advice is bring a lure for the Specular Rainbowfish! And probably be a bit lower fishing for the Cursed Ghoulfish chance

评论来自 Wildcupcake

If you've lost the buff and want to complete the quest, how do you get it back? I've tried abandoning the quest and retaking it. Nothing?

评论来自 NaThuRe

Don't waste your time fishing on open water to complete the weekly quest. Go straight to the specific pools of each type of fish. This first week:

Glimmerpool (for Bismuth Bitterling) pools at Isle of Dorn and The Ringing Deeps
Royal ripple pool (for Regal Dottyback) pools at Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet
Stargazer swarm pool (for Whispering Stargazer) - pools at Isle of Dorn,The Ringing Deeps and Hallowfall

It actually only require to get one fish of each type.

If you dont have find fish, instead of going back to an old expansion to try to fish up the weathered book... the fishing supplies npc next to the fishing trainer in Dornogal sells the book you need to learn it.

Can you not get the buff again on alts? I can't seem to get the buff on any of my alts.

OP, please edit the article to add the fact that the Fishing Derby timeframe is based on server time, not daily game reset time. Yes, the article does state the event runs all day Saturday, but that is a little misleading, because people (like me) assume that means it starts with Saturday's normal morning reset time.

The Fishing Derby actually starts at 12:01 AM Saturday morning server time and ends at 12:00 PM (midnight) Saturday evening server time. It does NOT start at the normal daily reset time Saturday morning, which would have it ending at Sunday morning's daily reset. And if you complete the quest after Saturday midnight (server time) and your quest timer is still up, you can't turn it in because the quest-giver disappears at midnight (server time).

评论来自 Juusanban

I did complete the derby today. But I got only 3 Mereldar Derby Marks?

评论来自 Trianthe

For anyone else wondering, you keep the buff after you turn in the quest. It lasts until the timer runs out - again real-time timer, so logging out does not stop the timer.

This event has just been hotfixed:
https://www.wowhead.com/news/september-26th-hotfixes-for-the-war-within-hallowfall-fishing-derby-marks-df-346929

Hallowfall Fishing Derby

Derby Marks for catching each fish while the Derby Dasher aura is active are now character-specific, instead of shared between your Warband (20 Marks per character).
Captain Oathmyt's “Hallowfall Fishing Derby” quest is now character-specific, instead of shared between your Warband.
“Hallowfall Fishing Derby” quests now award 10 Mereldar Derby Marks per completion.
“Hallowfall Fishing Derby” quests now give the option of either 2 Soaked Journal Entries, 2 Algari Seekerthreads, or 2 Algari Anglerthreads per completion.
Fish specific pools such as the Royal Ripple and Swarm of Slum Sharks will now persist longer when found.

This means that all characters on the account can do the weekly quest and get 10 米雷达尔钓鱼大赛印记 plus 2 Warbound skill items (as well as any Marks from unique fish).

评论来自 Alustriel

I got the version that required the Crystalline Sturgeon, Specular Rainbowfish, and Sanguine Dogfish. The Specular Rainbowfish is found in Glimmerpools. In the course of the hour I had, I got 5 pools only and each had another player already there. Failed the derby, and realized that it is best to do it in the wee hours of the morning as most players should be asleep and thus it would be easier than competing with dozens for the same object. Better yet, just skip it as it really only gives recipes I'll never use.

WARNING:
If you have the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff active on another character and you accept the 陨圣峪钓鱼大赛 quest(s) on your current character:
Then you do not get the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff ~~and can not complete the 陨圣峪钓鱼大赛 quest(s) on your current character!~~
Edit: Your might be able to complete the quest without the buff by catching the first non-gray fish.
This DOES reset all the fish-all-fish-once (米雷达尔钓鱼大赛印记) quests on the character that still has the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff active!

If you see that you don't get the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff, then relog to your previous character and start fishing each fish to recuperate 米雷达尔钓鱼大赛印记.

I've not tested it but before accepting the quest on your alt, first dismiss the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff on your previous character

评论来自 DogstarPhoto

I had an oddity today with the Hallowfall Fishing Derby quest on alts.

I completed the quest on my first character and then logged in a second straightaway, I then acquired the quest, made sure I had the Derby Dasher buff, and was surprised when I completed the quest after my first fishing cast. Perplexed by what happened I logged in a third character and got the quest and buff on them. They also completed the quest on the first cast and I noticed that they weren't getting Marks for catching fish.

I then started checking Wowhead and other sources to see if I could find out what was going on. After finding nothing I then logged on a fourth character and got the quest and buff again. This time I had to fish up all of the required fish and was getting Marks for other fish too.

What I think is happening is that if you do the quest on a second character while the buff is still active on your first character then the quest completes after the first cast - this means you could run lots of alts quickly to get more marks. It seems you can't complete the quest normally, and get the Marks for catching new fish, until the buff expires on your first (and second/third/etc?) character(s).

评论来自 ptarjan

This has been bugged for alts ever since they changed it to be doable by alts. I've reported it weeks ago and nothing has been done so I'm fairly confident it is not in "exploit" territory.

If you complete the quest on one character and then log out, for the entire remaining duration of the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff, every alt will instantly complete the quest when they catch their first non-grey fish. The flip side is all alts will NOT get any extra marks for unique fish caught with the derby buff until the 1 hour expires on your first character.

If you'd like to use this to get your 100个阿加寻猎之丝 and 100个阿加垂钓之丝 you should park as many alts as you wish next to the quest giver, do the quest on your main as fast as possible, log out, and then with the remaining time on your hour quickly complete the quest on your alts. You get two 阿加垂钓之丝s or 阿加寻猎之丝s for the quest turn in and 10 米雷达尔钓鱼大赛印记s which can net you one more. So 3 per turn in which requires around 66 alts (or multiple weeks). They are warbound so just put them in your warbank and you only need one character with the enchant on their rod to use them.

Glimmerpools can also be found in Hallowfall for fishing up Bismuth Fish, etc.

评论来自 JElmore

As of the writing of this comment, the Hallowfall Fishing Derby is bugged when completing it on alts. When I start the quest on an alt after completing it on my main, I get one of two effects:

Catching any fish gives credit for the quest and it can be turned in immediately. If this happens, you cannot fish any 米雷达尔钓鱼大赛印记 up and can only get the 10 from completing the quest.
The quest must be completed normally, by catching the required fish, but you can fish marks up normally by catching one of each fish while you have the buff.

This has been consistent for the past 3-4 weeks regardless of which quest is offered; I have not figured out what determines which version you get.

EDIT 2024-11-30: At least part of the condition is that you have to be level 80. I had an alt that was getting the normal fishing quest at levels 70 and 71, but they are now level 80 and they got the expedited version today.

评论来自 Bechstein

I can confirm that the autocompletion "bug" for alts still works. I completed the quest today, December 7 2024, on 26 characters (70+) in less than one hour. That gave me approximately 261 米雷达尔钓鱼大赛印记 and 52 浸湿的日志条目. (I am already at 100/100 with my threads.)

Here's my method:

I parked all my alts at the nearby platform at /way 43.00, 58.93, mounted and ready to go.

(Based on another comment I saw earlier, I made sure to log in on all my characters before I started, apparently you need to in order for the autocompletion to work.
Also, I had to make sure that the "find fish" ability was on, for some reason this has a tendency to uncheck by itself on some of my characters.)

I finished the quest as quickly as I could with my engineering mage, HS set at Mereldar. The combination of a mage portal, wormhole generator and HS saved me some time.
Then I logged in on my next character, flew a few seconds, took the quest, found the nearest pool, through it in, and the quest was automatically completed on my first successful cast. (You need to get a real fish, doesn't work with grey items.)
Handed it in, flew back to the platform for a quick logout, rinse and repeat. When I was finished I had approximately 20 min left of my mage's buff, so I could easily have done it with many more alts, if I would have had more.

Happy fishing!

After the 11.0.7 patch Alt still appear to be able to get the quest but not the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff to be able to "autocomplete" the quest.
I search the patch not for documented changes and found nothing. Guessing this was a bug they fixed? Shame, i was having fun doing this on multiple characters.

*Update* The 阿拉希治疗者 buff seems to interact with the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 buff. My 4 Alts with the 阿拉希治疗者 buff didn't get the 钓鱼大赛猛冲者 when i started the quest.

To the OP author: the price of the diver transmog is actually 500 Mereldar Derby Marks and not 250 as shown in the article. The correct value is listed on the Ensemble: Cerulean Dredger page.

OK , don't know if this is a bug or Not... picked up the Hallowfall Fishing Quest... flew off and saw an Arathi Treasure Chest.. clicked on it and BANG.. Quest completed! RNG, WTF.. I have screenshots of the Quest being completed in 3 minutes, just don't know how to upload them

Important: You must turn in the quest while you still have the buff!

评论来自 Mimsyuwu

I've failed this one so many times for various reasons. My last was so disheartening. I have my Vulpera racial to hearthstone right to the the turn-in and had already completed the prerequisites to turn in the quest. That said I was desperately looking for my final fish for the mount.
I had 15 seconds left to get back and what I did not factor in the 10 second cast time and 5+ second loading screen time.
When I arrived the quest changed from gold ? mark ready to turn in to failed and the quest giver / turn-in was nowhere to be found.

That last fish is a real headache to try to catch. Only ever caught 1 once from an ichor pool in a time the event and buff was not active. Best of luck folks this quest, achievement and vendor can be something else sometimes. Ah well will try again in 7 more days with how I've failed in t the past in mind.

评论来自 Prismaticlysm

This really isn't worth the headache. Bloody pools get taken as fast as they spawn and even then their spawn rate is as abysmal as their drop chance for the Sanguine Dogfish. You're better off doing something enjoyable than this...I don't even know what this is.

Can say you probably need to be decked out in every piece of fishing gear imaginable with every buff imaginable. Don't bother otherwise.

How to Quickly Complete the Quest on Multiple Level 70+ Alts in a Single Day
Many players mention that this method sort of works for them, but after extensive testing, I’ve found a reliable way to ensure it works on every alt.

Preparation:
Move All Alts to Hollowfall – The day before (or the day of) the event, relocate all your level 70+ alts to the Hollowfall area, right next to the derby.
Log Into Each Alt – Before completing the quest on your main character, log into each alt while they are in Hollowfall.
I believe there is some kind of server-side caching that tracks your "warband" when checking quest completion. While I don’t have access to Blizzard’s backend, my testing suggests that logging in on the same day is crucial. It might be that an internal cache resets after 24 hours, which is why this step matters.
Quest Completion:
Once all your alts have been logged in, switch to your main character and complete the quest as usual.
After finishing the quest on your main, log back into each alt, pick up the quest, fish one pool, and the quest should instantly complete.
Just make sure to accept the quest before fishing!
This method will help you accumulate Derby Marks much faster, allowing you to obtain collectibles more efficiently.

Hope this helps! 💖

Algari Weaverline, question.

So we had fishing poles up to last expansion, and now we have fishing tools. The poles cannot be equipped in the hands anymore so everything is based upon whatever is put in the "tool" slot in professions. Does Algari Weaverline attach to the tool or just pole? And if so, does the quest reward to increase perception then apply once you have applied Algari Weaverline to your tool?

Amazing guide, but has one incorrect statement. The derby now only awards 10 marks and the quest is repeatable per alt per week.

评论来自 Incandio

What is this Special column in the fishing guides, e.g. Fresh Fillet and Chum? Do you need them to catch the fish? Without an explanation this is a bit confusing.

For the alts strategy: alts don't even need to learn Khaz Algar fishing. Just classic fishing is enough, one cast in any school autocompletes the quest. Still valid as of 12.1.

Since Patch 12.1.5

I had 2 auto-complete, out of 25 turn ins.

Tried same server, already in zone, etc nothing was consistent. But, it's still possible!
