In
Dragonflight
, the newest World of Warcraft expansion,
Professions
are going through a massive overhaul that changes the system forever, adding new mechanics and ways to craft and send gear to people!
In this guide, we go through everything that is currently known about the Profession overhaul coming in the ninth WoW expansion.
Dragonflight Profession Changes in Patch 10.0.5
There are many exciting changes being introduced in Patch 10.0.5. Most of these changes should improve your overall profession experience!
General Profession Changes
Profession Specialization requirements have been reduced. Originally, professions with 3 specialization trees would unlock their third and final tree at profession level 100. This is now
reduced to 75
. Professions with 4 specialization trees will now unlock their third tree at profession level 60 and fourth tree at level 75 instead of 75 and 100.
Crafting Order Changes
Crafters will have a new daily limit of only
4 Public Work Orders
that do not continue to stack. This is a huge decrease from the current max of 20.
Crafters now have the ability to reject Personal crafting orders by simply right-clicking on them in the main Personal Orders tab.
Crafters will now be informed by a notification on their minimap if they have a pending personal order.
What's New with Professions in Dragonflight?
With the Dragonflights hearing the call of the Dragon Isles and returning to their ancestral home, Players will soar to new heights exploring, dungeon diving, and crafting their way through Dragonflight. No new expansion would be complete without system reworks, and this time, Professions are in the spotlight: boasting a slew of new features, a fancy interface rework, and a completely new Specialization system, the once-stale Profession system is now a force to be reckoned with!
Looking at the new systems is enough to make even a seasoned Crafter's head spin. While each Profession received its own tweaks and adjustments, there are some changes that were made overall to the entire system. To summarize, Players going into Dragonflight should expect to see some new things in their Profession windows and crafting processes:
Reworked Profession Interface:
The single, giant list we all knew and... well... tolerated, is gone! Instead, Dragonflight has standardized the Profession Interface in a few ways. Individual Expansions are now toggles, swapping the crafting list from one to another. Additionally, there are fun details for each Profession, including a reworked skill level bar: Blacksmiths, for instance, have a bar that looks like superheated metal, Jewelcrafters boast a glittering gemstone bar, and Alchemists have bubbling potions signifying their skill. Perhaps the biggest change, however, is the new Crafting Details section of the interface. Detailing Profession Secondary Stats, Craft Quality, and an area for Finishing Reagents, this screen will look entirely new to Players.
Profession Secondary Stats:
Speaking of things new to Dragonflight, Professions now have a Secondary Stat System similar to gear systems Players are already familiar with. Players can now increase their crafting effectiveness with Stats such as Inspiration, Resourcefulness, Multicraft, Finesse, Deftness, and more!
Profession Tools and Accessories:
Augmenting the Profession Secondary Stats, this new type of gear provides these bonuses, and adds some flair to Professions to boot. Players can work in style with new Appearances, from
草药学
baskets to
锻造
hammers.
Crafting Orders:
A flagship Dragonflight feature, Crafting Orders are a new way for Players to provide their services in an Auction House-like setting. The main allure of Crafting Orders is allowing someone besides the Crafter to use a Bind on Pickup item- be it armor, weapons, consumables, or more. Gone are the days of having to have a specific Profession on a specific character to use a specific piece of gear- simply place a Crafting Order, and have someone fill it for you!
Specializations and Profession Knowledge:
Last, but certainly not least, Dragonflight has added a massive, Talent Tree-like system to Professions. While similar to previous iterations of Specializations, the new system allows Players to choose how they wish to develop their own Profession: as a Crafter, do you want to focus on making top-tier Armor? As a Gatherer, is your focus collecting the highest quality materials possible? Or, do you want to focus entirely on something else? The great news is, given enough time and patience, Players can eventually learn
all
of their Specializations- but the journey getting there has never had more Player Agency.
The old Profession Window, top, vs the updated Dragonflight Window, bottom.
Perks of Each Profession in Dragonflight
All of the general Dragonflight Profession changes are enough to occupy Players for a long time- but eventually, you'll need to choose Professions to play with! It's never a bad time to pick a new Profession, and the start of an Expansion is no exception. Players will be able to get in on the ground floor with an even footing, or stick with their tried-and-true favorites. Whether you're a seasoned Alchemist or looking to pick up Tailoring for the first time, there's a Profession for everyone, each with their own unique reasons to play them!
There are no real "bad" Professions in Dragonflight- while some may seem to offer more than others, each will provide bonuses to the Player in their own ways. In much the same way that you should play the Class and Spec that you enjoy, you should learn the Professions you enjoy as well- after all, exploring Azeroth is meant to be fun!
Alchemy
Players choosing this Profession will gain increased Phial duration, as well as additional and increased Healing and Movement Speed from consuming Dragon Isles Potions. Additionally, access to
元素究极强能药水
without having to create a Work Order will likely save significant gold, and Alchemist Stones will reduce cooldowns on Potions or increase duration on Phials, depending on which Stone is equipped.
炼金术
also needs the fewest Knowledge Points of all Crafting Professions to max their Specializations.
Dragonflight Alchemy Overview
Blacksmithing
锻造
allows Players to craft high ilevel Weapons, as well as Plate Armor.
锻造
also provides roughly half the Professions with their new Crafting Tools, increasing their Crafting and Gathering effectiveness.
Dragonflight Blacksmithing Overview
Cooking
Our compliments to the chef!
烹饪
remains a consistent staple among Secondary Professions, providing the same Stat Bonuses Players are familiar with. As always, the main reagents for
烹饪
are gathered by killing mobs in the world, as well as utilizing fish from
钓鱼
. Pair these two Secondary Professions together for a powerful combination of Crafting and Gathering. Feasts also make a return with new Dragon Isles variants - we hope you're hungry!
Because
烹饪
is a Secondary Profession that all Players can learn, regardless of their other Professions, it does not have a Specialization Tree.
Dragonflight Cooking Overview
Enchanting
Always a favorite,
附魔
allows Players to craft Enchantments for all types of Profession Tools, Weapons, and Armor. Along with that, Players can
分解
extra Armor and Weapons into Reagents to sell for gold (often for more than the vendor price would be).
附魔
also lets players craft fun Cosmetics- and a cute new Battle Pet to boot!
Dragonflight Enchanting Overview
Engineering
Goggles and
S.A.V.I.O.R.救世机器人
and Tinkers, oh my!
工程学
isn't just about Wyrmholes in Dragonflight- there's plenty of utility for Engineers to capitalize on. Not only do the traditional Battle Pet crafts make a return, along with an expansion of the Portable Crafting systems (
炼金术
and
工程学
stations join
锻造
anvils), but
工程学
boasts new Tinker abilities. These slottable skills can be used on Crafted
工程学
armor, and have some unique and powerful abilities. Add on a number of Profession Tools and Accessories to craft, and
工程学
shapes up to be a solid contender among a packed house of Professions.
Dragonflight Engineering Overview
Fishing
As a Secondary Profession, everyone can enjoy
钓鱼
. Equip a fishing pole into your Profession Tools and hit the inland and coastal waters all over the Dragon Isles for Fish, which are particularly important for
烹饪
. With your pole equipped as a tool, you automatically switch to your favorite fishing pole when you fish without actually "equipping" it, meaning that you're still armed with your normal weapons if you get attacked (no more hitting mobs with your fishing pole!). There are fish pools, special baits you can get from Skinners, and all kinds of fun stuff to fish up. There are magic coins to trade with a giant hornswog in Ohn'arhan Plains for valuable (yes, really!) prize bags, soggy packs of Darkmoon Cards you can rescue from the water, as well as Dragon Isles recipes and lost recipes previously retired in older expansions you can fish up as well!
Because
钓鱼
is a Secondary Profession that all Players can learn, regardless of their other Professions, it does not have a Specialization Tree.
Dragonflight Fishing Overview
Herbalism
草药学
is a gathering profession that concentrates on gathering valuable Herbs used primarily by
炼金术
and
铭文
. In addition, Herbalists can harvest Elemental-charged herbs for Rousing Essences, an important reagent required for high-end recipes in manufacturing professions. Herbalists can further specialize to maximize the number and quality of herbs they gather, refine herbs to improve quality, gather seeds to plant specific herb types, gather more Rousing Essences from Elemental herbs, and harvest herbs while mounted in the Dragon Isles.
Dragonflight Herbalism Overview
Inscription
Players choosing to focus on
铭文
have a new category of crafts in Dragonflight: Dragon Riding Customizations! Create new Appearances for your trusty, scaly steeds with this Profession, as well as a host of other classics. Contracts, Missives, Darkmoon Cards, and more all make return appearances in Dragonflight, making
铭文
as strong as it has been previously. To add a cherry on top, however, there's one new craft that will cause Players to seek out Scribes- Draconic Treatises, which give Profession Knowledge, a valuable currency in Dragonflight.
Dragonflight Inscription Overview
Jewelcrafting
The Dragon Isles wouldn't be complete without a new hoard of Aspect-themed Gems! Crafters choosing
珠宝加工
may have an easier time leveling to Skill 100 than some other Professions, due to the nature of how long their Trainer-learned recipes continue to give skill-ups. Additionally, the amount of potential sockets on gear in Dragonflight means that the demand for Gems will likely be high, opening up the likelihood of high profits. Finally, Jewelcrafters will provide high-quality glasswares to other Professions, making them fairly integral to the crafting scene in Dragonflight.
Dragonflight Jewelcrafting Overview
Leatherworking
Leatherworkers will have access to the only Profession to craft two types of armor, Leather and Mail. Along with that, Leatherworkers craft Profession Tools and Accessories for seven different Professions (more than half).
制皮
will also be in-demand for Drums and Leg Armors, consumables that have traditionally sold very well.
Dragonflight Leatherworking Overview
Mining
采矿
harvests ore deposits across the Dragon Isles for
锻造
,
工程学
, and
珠宝加工
. There are only two base ore nodes for the entire Dragon Isles, but there are many Elemental-charged versions that also yield valuable Rousing Essences for high-end professions. A third valuable ore,
卡兹格罗金矿石
, is a rare side gather from the existing ore nodes. Miners can further specialize to maximize ore yields, improve the chances of valuable rare side gathers and Rousing Essences, increase ore quality, discover gems directly in ore deposits, and mine while mounted in the Dragon Isles.
Dragonflight Mining Overview
Skinning
剥皮
has gone through a welcome change for Dragonflight, and this change applies to all zones: more than one skinner can now skin a kill, as long as they've all tagged the mob in question. Skinners can also immediately skin kills that were tagged only by non-skinners, whether the mob has been looted out or not, without jeopardizing the ability of the non-skinner to loot their kill. Being grouped or ungrouped does not change any of these behaviors. Skinning still provides valuable Leather, Hides, and Scales for
制皮
, and is a great source of steady income. Skinners can specialize in various aspects of
剥皮
, including increasing leather and scale yields, crafting Bait to attract and gathering new side items such as meat, species-specific reagents, and items for fish-specific Fishing Lures. You can also specialize in Baits to attract skinnable, elusive monsters that may include Elite and Rare mobs that are otherwise unobtainable.
Dragonflight Skinning Overview
Tailoring
裁缝
typically enters new Expansions with a bang, or, more appropriately, with bags. Dragonflight is no exception- Tailors will be able to craft both the standard bags, as well as new Reagent Bags. Other bonuses of
裁缝
include the ability to craft Spellthreads (Intellect enchants for Leg Armor), high ilevel Cloth Armor, and new Toys and Banners for collectors and Gatherers.
Dragonflight Tailoring Overview
Profession Crafting Work Orders in Dragonflight
The main new feature for professions in Dragonflight is
Crafting Orders
. Crafting Orders are a new interface that allows you to request another player to craft something for you, even if you do not have the right profession or specialization to do it yourself. You will be able to browse through recipes that can be crafted and pick the one you want for yourself.
You can either meet with your desired crafter face-to-face, or you can go to an NPC, which will show you an Auction House-like interface to send the order out. By using the NPC, you will be able to send an order, and a crafter that knows the recipe you want can pick the order up and craft it for you! You can also send optional reagents that you have gathered to help them craft the gear for you. Optional reagents can be provided from both you and the crafter, to further customize your piece of gear.
With Crafting Orders, you can also send an additional payment via commissions, and even send notes to the crafter! You're also able to choose who's able to see and fulfill your order: available to anyone, members of your guild, or even a specific individual alone.
Crafters interact with the Crafting Orders system in the following manner, once they receive and accept a Crafting Order:
Fill in any missing and optional reagents;
Craft the item;
Collect the commission (with a small cut taken by the Artisan's Consortium);
The crafted item is then delivered directly to the solicitant in the mail.

Profession Specializations in Dragonflight
Profession Specializations are making a return in Dragonflight! In Dragonflight, you will be able to earn Knowledge Points to deepen your understanding of a part of your chosen profession and become better at crafting or gathering that part of the profession. As an example, Blacksmiths will be able to become Armorsmiths, and craft more powerful Plate armor.
Unlike past iterations of Profession Specializations, you will be able to earn Specialization points in multiple ways, like finding an old book on a bookshelf at some long-forgotten ruin or meeting up with a hermit in a cave who can teach you more about your chosen profession - even finding special consumables nestled into the herbs you pick.
Profession Specializations are a way to differentiate your crafting and gathering abilities from other players, opening opportunities for players within the same guild to specialize in varying aspects of the profession, thus adding more value to the guild as a whole.
Earning Knowledge Points in Dragonflight Knowledge Point Treasure Locations
Earning Experience with Gathering and Crafting Professions in Dragonflight
Herbalism and Mining have always given small amounts of experience from mining nodes and picking herbs (Skinning has never given experience, and this has not changed). However, Dragonflight adds a considerable amount of experience gains to Crafting Professions as well!
When you create a new item in a crafting profession, you are credited with what's known as a First Craft Bonus. There are some processes that don't give this, but most items you produce will give you First Craft credit. Not only does this give you +1 Profession Knowledge and a small amount of
匠人之勇
, but it also gives you 11,330 experience each time you create an item for the first time. Just for perspective, at level 60, this represents 6% of a level.
You can use the Crafting Interface to filter for any items that will give you First Craft experience. This will filter out anything that does not give such experience or that you've already created:
You are limited to a maximum of 30 First Crafting completions for gaining experience.
While you'll continue to get Knowledge and
匠人之勇
, you will no longer get experience after doing 30 First Crafts.
Players who may want to take advantage of this system for leveling characters quickly should probably pick one of the cheaper professions such as Tailoring or Enchanting, and perhaps even switch among professions to keep the cost outlay low. You cannot repeat the same profession for First Crafting gains; if you've done First Crafts on Tailoring before, you can't drop Tailoring and then relearn it to reset this. The system will still know that it's not really your "first time". Of course, players who have invested a great deal of time and effort into existing professions won't necessarily want to do this.
草药学
and
采矿
do not give First Gathering experience, although they do give Knowledge and
匠人之勇
for new discoveries. The amount of experience you get from these is more modest (2,300 per herb or mine), but there is no limit to how often you can get that.
New Crafting-Specific Stats in Dragonflight
In Dragonflight, besides your primary Crafting Skill, you have access to several secondary stats. These new stats are only applied in crafting Dragonflight items, and you can specialize in them. These are the secondary Crafting Stats in Dragonflight:
Inspiration
: You have a x% chance to be inspired, crafting this recipe with extra skill.
Inspiration is basically a dice roll for getting bonus quality on crafted items. It is also a way to craft items of higher quality than what you're able to obtain at the moment (or boost items a little bit above maximum Quality).
Resourcefulness
: You have a x% chance to use fewer tradable reagents.
Pretty straightforward stat, allows for a chance of using less materials when crafting.
Multicraft
: You have a x% chance to craft additional items. Only works on recipes for stackable items.
Multicraft has been a thing in some shape or form for many expansions, such as the
药水大师
specialization from Burning Crusade or
希拉斯的兴盛药水
from Battle for Azeroth. Granting a chance to craft extra items is a great way to increase profits!
Crafting Speed
: Crafting is x% faster.
This stat allows for faster crafting, great for mass producing items for the Auction House or just save some time.
New Gathering-Specific Stats in Dragonflight
Crafting Professions aren't the only ones that were changed - Gathering Professions boast their own set of secondary stats. These will come into play for
草药学
,
采矿
, and
剥皮
.
Finesse:
You have a x% chance to gather more of the primary reagent found here.
Similar to the Rank system from Legion and Battle for Azeroth, higher levels of Finesse allow you to gather more of the reagent from whatever node you are gathering. For instance, while a Player may only gather 1-2
龙银矿石
from a node originally, with higher Finesse you might gather 4-5
龙银矿石
instead. 10 points of Finesse gives +1%.
Deftness:
Increases your gathering speed.
A fairly self-explanatory stat, this is similar to the old Racial bonuses to gathering speed. The more, the better- especially for long farming sessions! 3 points of Deftness gives +1%.
Perception:
Increases your ability to spot rare reagents while gathering.
This increases your chance to find rare side gathers when mining, herbing, or skinning. This includes not only rare reagents, but also valuable Knowledge-enhancing items. 10 points of Perception gives +1%.
Quality Ranks of Crafted Items in Dragonflight
In Dragonflight, a new profession system called
Quality
is being added to crafting progressions. Quality comes from crafting specializations and is obtained as you progress deep down your Crafting Specialization. As the name implies, crafting something with higher quality means the end result is going to be better. Crafting pieces of gear of higher quality can mean a higher item level or better effects, crafting higher-quality potions means you can get more powerful or additional effects, etc.
Crafted items will have five possible levels of quality, while other crafted items like potions and ore will have three levels of quality.
In the crafting UI, you will be able to see stats specific to your profession, showing your current level of quality.
Quality Levels Affecting Crafted Gear
For crafted gear, a higher quality will primarily modify the level of the item, with each level of quality increasing it by a small amount. As an example given by Blizzard themselves:
At Quality Tier 1, an item would be
ilvl 270
.
At Quality Tier 2, an item would be
ilvl 272
.
At Quality Tier 3, an item would be
ilvl 274
.
At Quality Tier 4, an item would be
ilvl 277
.
At Quality Tier 5, an item would be
ilvl 280
.
For crafted items, the goal is for Quality to matter enough to be worth the effort to actively strive for higher quality gear, but not having the gains from Quality being so large that the lower-tiered items just aren't worth it.
Quality Levels Affecting Consumables and Reagents
For other crafted items such as consumables, Quality effects will be a bit more varied. For most items, higher Quality will result in more powerful effects, but in certain items it might provide results such as more duration, more charges, etc.
It is to be expected that low-quality consumables will sell for less, but these can serve as a niche for those who aren't willing to spend a lot of gold but still want to use the items to some effect. Of course, lower-quality consumables will be cheaper to craft.
Use Finishing Reagents to Further Improve Crafting in Dragonflight
Finishing Reagents are a new type of Reagent that is used to improve aspects of the crafting process - The reagent is not applied to the crafted item, but instead used as a "booster" of sorts to increase your Crafting Skill or Stats, resulting in an even stronger item in the process. Finishing Reagents are also affected by Quality, and higher-quality Finishing Reagents will provide stronger bonuses when crafting an item:
It is worth noting that not all gathered reagents have Quality attached to them. Core reagents gathered by primary professions such as ores from Mining, skins/hides/scales from Skinning and herbs from Herbalism will have Quality, as well as reagents crafted by the primary professions like cloth bolts from Tailoring or metal alloys from Mining. Common reagents that can be looted by anyone, such as meat, cloth, fish and elements will not have Quality.
The Crafting Process in Dragonflight: Determining Item Quality
When crafting an item in Dragonflight, the
Recipe Difficulty
determines how hard it is to craft the recipe at a higher quality. Recipe Difficulty is also changed when Optional Reagents are include, which can either add or remove some of the recipe difficulty depending on the effects and quality.
Your base Crafting Skill is determined by your profession skill, but can be modified by many factors, like the quality of used reagents, Finishing Reagents, profession gear with skill bonuses, consumable bonuses, and your profession specialization. This does seem a bit complicated at a first glance, but the new crafting UI in Dragonflight shows clearly what Quality you're expected to craft the item at in the Crafting Details menu.
When crafting a new item, there will be a small amount of randomness that will make end results vary a little. In addition, if you have any Inspiration, you have a chance of receiving a significant amount of bonus Crafting Skill. In the end, the Crafting Skill accumulated is compared to the Recipe Difficulty - If your Crafting Skill is higher than the Recipe Difficulty of the item you're trying to craft, the item is crafted at maximum Quality. Otherwise, the item is crafted with the Quality where your skill falls comparatively.
Item Recrafting in Dragonflight
A new addition to professions in Dragonflight is the ability to
recraft items
- You can bring an already-crafted item to the crafting window, and by using a special reagent, plus a portion of the mats used for the original recipe, you will be able to recraft the item.
Recrafting the item allows you to change optional reagents, as well as allowing you to increase the quality of said crafted item, if your quality level is higher than when the previous piece was originally created.
Item recrafting will also be available to non-crafters, via usage of the Crafting Order system - You will be able to send out an order to have an item recrafted with either different optional reagents, or simply have its quality increased.
Recrafting System Guide
Accessing Crafted Soulbound Profession Items in Dragonflight
Thanks to the Crafting Orders system, previously Bind on Pick-up profession crafts are no longer limited to people who can craft these items! As the Crafting Orders system delivers the item straight to the person who requested it, you can send out a Crafting Order for a previously BoP-only item, and have it delivered to you.
Profession Crafting Tables in Dragonflight
In Dragonflight, you will see Crafting Tables in Valdrakken, the new city hub of the Dragon Isles. The Crafting Tables will serve as a hub for crafters to meet up in the zone, or for players to request item orders face-to-face.
Profession-Enhancing Gear in Dragonflight
In Dragonflight, Crafters and Gatherers can obtain new types of gear for their profession. These gear pieces do not occupy any bag slots, and your character will automatically swap to them once doing anything profession-related, like mining a node or crafting items for that profession. If the new appearances aren't your style, you can even speak to an NPC to have them hidden!
Crafters and Gatherers will need to obtain these Tools and Accessories from other Professions. For example, Blacksmiths craft a variety of Profession Tools (for Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, Leatherworking, Tailoring, and Blacksmithing itself), however for their last Accessory, Blacksmiths must seek out a Leatherworker. It's a fairly balanced split as to which Professions make what, with each being able to provide some type of Tool or Accessory (with the exception of Alchemy, which creates no Profession Gear).
These new pieces of gear will grant secondary stats (Crafting or Gathering, depending on the Profession) that will help you improve at your profession. While Accessories have set Secondary Stats per item, Tools can be custom-made using Draconic Missives during the crafting process, to guarantee certain Secondary Stats.

Are there level requirements for the entry level green crafted gear yet? I liked crafting gear for unleveled alts that sit at the previous level cap. Crafters Marks are being replaced by quality levels but there's nothing that works like a Novice Crafters Mark making something a lower ilvl but also letting you equip the item at an earlier level.

is there any news on whether crafting orders will be available to alts? Like say I have one character that's a blacksmith, will it be able to fulfill crafting orders for one of my alts. If so, I think this will be a very valuable asset to alts and having specific characters for specific reasons

Admittedly, I want to mainly know if Inscription will actually have any value this time around? Ever since Glyphs were removed, the profession was lackluster at best, even with Missives and the other things which popped up in Shadowlands making it a very powerful profession. It would be nice to actually see its value finally return in Dragonflight.

In the end, the Crafting Skill accumulated is compared to the Recipe Difficulty - If your Crafting Skill is higher than the Recipe Difficulty of the item you're trying to craft, the item is crafted at maximum Quality.
I'm not sure if it's a bug, but I'm finding that this statement isn't true, especially of Inscription. My Skill exceeds the Recipe Difficulty (and even has ~32% Inspiration), all of my Inscription Accessories and Tools are maxed out, and I'm still crafting items at a lower Quality than expected.

So I noticed today, when trying to fish - I right-clicked my Underlight Angler and it disappeared out of my bags... apparently this action is now equipping these tools to the new equipment tab for professions. Cool. The issue is that now my Underlight Angler is no longer an item I can physically equip. If I remove it from the fishing equipment tab, it just turns into a "tool" in my bags. Also, I can no longer attach certain lures to it. When I find a lure I
can
use with it, it no longer displays a buff like it used to. So in order to see how long I have left on my lure, I have to open the fishing equipment tab and hover over the fishing pole...

Hey guys !
I am quite lost to be fair and some help from you would mean a lot for me !
I decided to prepare with professions for Dragonflight, got myself to 300 classics skill of leatherworking. Do i need anything else to be able to start Dragonflight leatherworking as it drops?
Same goes for other professions, as i am considering preparing tailoring on my alt as well.
Thank you !

I posted this under herbalism guide and how i see this page. OMG!
Did they make proffesions a little bit too complicated or is just my lazyness to read this guide in detail? And if you are an altoholic and end up doing all proffesions in the game all this reading to do before you even start its like you are in college again and you have a ton of homework.
I mean i wanted some changes, like personal beneffits. Once upon a time it meant something when you had a proffesion: a buff or an extra enchant etc. Its too much now!
I was so happy that they gave up on borrowed powers and systems ovver systems on top of "hero azeroth needs you,, she bleeds and..."
So they went off and made other systems to deal with. The amount of work for this is worth at leat 2-3 new dungeons and a raid or so.
When Blizzard will understand that players what content not idiotic puzzles the you need a manual to learn to use them.

I have looked everywhere for this information with no luck and thought I'd try here.
You have 3 categories of quests listed in Dragonflight, "Campaign", "Quests" and "Profession".
These "Profession" quests seem to change all the time and if I do them there seems to be absolutely zero response. The quest doesn't go away, I get nothing from it, etc.
What are these quests for? I must be missing something pretty basic.
Edit: I finally got an answer for this. It's a way to track things you're making. For some reason it was turning on for me, it seems to have been fixed.

Does anyone know if professional secondary stats effect old world (previous expansions) gathering? In particular I'm curious about if perception helps out with fishing in old expansions for things like mounts, lunkers, or lunarfall carp.

Crafters will have a new daily limit of only 4 Public Work Orders that do not continue to stack. This is a huge decrease from the current max of 20.
Seems to be wrong. I completed 4 orders, next day when it says 2 orders available I completed one more—and it is 0 again. Repeated on 2 characters.

Dragonflight 9.0.5 - Go Back In Time!
I am not sure if this happens in ALL the professions but I am going to tell you what happened in Engineering. I had leveled my night elf warrior from 1-60 over a period of three years - most of it during the end days of Shadowlands. I actually started her back in BfA but never paid much attention to her. Especially when it came to her professions - Mining & Engineering. I had mostly used the mining as a way to get extra experience points in the beginning and later kept it up because I could supply ore to main toon for jewel crafting. Even that was half-hearted because it was easier to just buy ore from the auction house. I had learned maybe 1-30 points in all the expansions with the exception of Cataclysm and Outlands. Those three I had not even bothered with engineering.
I get to Dragonsflight and saw "upgraded" versions of several items that we did not have in Shadowlands but I missed - Neural Silencer MK3 - The original worked well even through a good portion of Shadowlands. I bought two from the auction and they were back to working the way they used to, sometimes even in dungeons. (BONUS!).
I decided I had to get my engineering up. I set a whole day aside. To make things easier I moved gold from all my characters to my engineer so I could just buy all the supplies for it. Thank you,
WoW-Professions
for the handy guide on leveling up!
My skill number was improving and then with one quest (engineers will know which one!) I found I had to go back to Draenor to get one specific part, one I had only done ONCE. Something I forgot was also on a cooldown schedule. I didn't even have the tool required to do that one particular part. I go looking EVERYWHERE for the tool (bank, toons) because I need to continue. Somewhere, somehow I had gotten rid of the tool. To get the tool, I had to go all the way back to Vanilla. The first time, I only made it as far as "15" when I first started way back when I just decided on the profession but had only gone back to get the exact same tool. I remembered I had noticed the tool on the auction and it was easier to go that way. I paid two gold in 2020. Checking the auction really fast, it was now 80 gold and I could not find one of the Engineering or even the trade goods vendors selling the tool. Went all the way to Gadgetzan. It's like the game knew I needed it and was making me work for it.
I decided I'd put it off for too long. I bought the stuff I needed to level my Vanilla engineer. I know for a fact, I had allocated all my points in Dragonflight. I started doing the back and forth between trainer and anvil. What I didn't expect was by the time I got to 190 in Vanilla engineering, the ever-annoying "You have unspent ....." in the bottom right of my screen. (Using the same cadence as "You've got Mail" - Now I have to go watch the movie!) I have 5 unallocated points. Okay, I'll take it. By the time I'm at 250, I've got 7 points.
Summary: If you haven't completed/done previous expansions, especially if it's time to do some spring cleaning of your bank, bank toons, etc... you may want to try it. You will get the achievement but then you may get a small number of points to use in Dragonflight. That specialization may not be as far away as you thought. It's worth a shot. I'm almost to 300, pulling all 17 schematics I've collected in three years out of my bank finally! I currently have 9 pts to allocate. Not a lot but it will help me get a little further down the line with what I want.
Happy questing, Everyone!

Have blizzard managed to screw up ONCE AGAIN with this whole "Crafting order bull!@#$s"
u get to sin half a day looking in trade for a crafter u ask for a craft in a specific item in a specific rank (5) someone says they can do it at a reasonable price (5k)
then after u send it they scam you and only give u a rank (3) item then they want MORE mats and money for recrafts
wasn't this new system to get rid of scamming ?
would be sooo much better if we could get to SEE before hand that the crafter actually CAN make it before you send it "in hopes" that you get it
