If you run your pet out of range while this spell is active, upon cancelling the spell, your pet will despawn.

Also, makes ganking lowbies easy.
1) Tame a creature from the area you will be ganking in - get a boar or wolf from Westfall, for example - leave the name as is!
2) Flag yourself for PvP.
3) Cast Eyes of the Beast and force your pet to walk (usually the / key on the NumPad).
4) Walk like most mobs do, walking in a straight line and then stopping before turning back.
5) Anyone not paying attention will attack your pet, flagging themself, at which point you can cancel the spell and Aimed Shot them into oblivion.

Great fun in AB, especialy for beast mastery specced hunters. You can guard a flag while attacking another node, just cancel when the pet gets low health and it should never die.
Since people generaly ignore pets, it is the ultimate opportunity- I once killed a warlock (full health, looked like she was in blue gear) with this because she was too busy running around looking for me than actually attacking my pet. A priest friend of mine (who was also guarding a flag with me at the time) had put up mind vision on my pet and we both had a good laugh over it.
Works best with a wind serpent, as dash will help you get there quick and lightning breath ignores mana sheild.

You can use this ability to control your pet if pathing is a problem. For instance, I've seen several wipes in dungeons due to a hunter not using this ability. The hunter jumps off a ledge with the other players as a shortcut. The hunter's pet does not recognize that as a proper path, so it runs around the long way aggroing any uncleared mobs. In a dungeon these mobs will of course follow the pet any distance to the hunter usually wiping out the whole group.

The hunter can stop before jumping and cast Eyes of the Beast. You manually jump the pet down with the rest of the party and put him on Stay. Then you cancel the ability and jump down after the pet. Remember to put the pet back on follow if needed.

The main thing my friend(the hunter) and I(the rogue)(both 60) use it for getting everybody in Orgimmar PvP enabled so I pop up kill and vinish...it works great.

You can have a great time with this running into opposition factions' towns and cities - attracting the attention of guards, and attacking players - the best thing is that if you have a fast running pet (eg cat) then you don't take that much damage and you just disappear when the spell wears off

well you dont just disappear... if your pets in follow mode it runs back to you, trailing an army of very pissed guards. unless its really far away it doesnt disappear, although you can dismiss it if it doesnt. if the pet does survive all the way back to you and bring all the guards it would be very handy for pvp attacks

its also a really good tool to have in warsong when playing againest players of low experience. u can send ur pet in to scout ahead or cause a distraction, they might all focus on ur pet and then u strike. or u can use it to see what is going on inside the other factions base. or to scout for the flag.

I use this to run my pet into a (camp, building, area) and circle the waggon, then run him off and start attacking a different mob all together. At this point, I do a snatch and run on the objective (chest, quest item, path way). It works swimmingly provided I dont run the pet so far he loses aggro or de-spawns. It's also good to run a train on someone (is not considered grief play)as long as you stay your pet, and Feign death immediately after dropping Eye's of the Beast.

As everybody knows, some times your pet may not follow the path you want it to take. This spell is excellent for making it go where you want it to.

If you really want to stay hidden while you are doing it, you can do so for a little bit of time by just having some potions or cloaking devices with you, dont know why you would want to though, I would just aspect of the beast and hide in a tree or something like that.

This just sounds more for entertainment. But my stupid opinion. Now if only when you /dance'd with this on the pet would start.
Marksman/Beast/Survival Hunter if I want to PvP often? Not as a twink, but atleast once or twice a day.

I use my pet in Darmassus and make it jump of the cliff, its pretty funny and takes a while to hit somthing to.

I found out a way to make it last longer, i dunno if anyone else figured this out.. when u use eye of the beast thing make sure ur charcter can see ur pet when ur moving. Anytime u want u just click the spell and it will start going. It will flash to ur person doing the thing, Then it will flash back to ur pet was. My Directions are werid =-/. but i had fun last night doing this!

Oh and yes when ur in the eye of the beast, you can attack with ur pet. And both ur person. But its kinda tricky.

i have used this mainly when i am in the barrens fishing for deviate fish. on my rotation through the 3 lakes i pass by XR and do my hourly ganking. My pet can solo atleast 4 lvl 40 guards without dying and kill all of them (it takes 4 minutes) and usually some stupid lowbie will think "ooo look an enemy. me attack enemy" and they initiate the attack doing what little damage they can actually do to my pet, and flag themselves thus giving my pet the right to 3 shot them. But one day i was browsing some google videos and saw this horde taming low level coyotes in westfall and using this spell to move it around some lowbies like it was a regular mob. Being how alliance are mostly 12 yr old and under, they ignore the fact that it says it's somebodys pet and attack it. the Hunter then goes and 1 shots then in the face. I am an experienced hunter and am suprised that i have never heard of this form of ganking b4 and plan to try it out daily now! beware all ye lowbie horde on DETHECUS.

O ya this spell is good for scouting instances when your pet has prowl.

I use this skill in Feralas to scout out fishing spots instead of walking around looking for Stonescale Eell pools. I sent out the pet, check out ahead, if there's crap, then I just turn it off and do something else.

I remember seeing a vid somewhere of a hunter using EotB with a boar with the same skin as the boars in Elwynn, He would walk around like a mob, then when the noobs attacked the boar, the boar would gank them. Was pretty funny. I plan to try it out when I get 6 more lvl's.

for me i use it to check where horde r in BS in AB wen i have cover from other alliance players and walk my pet up to theflag and if there r enough for me and th other player to handle we ruch the BS and take it over.

Im thinking this spell is good in WSG where you look for the flag carrier and then report back to your team. Similar to what rogues do really, but with your pet.

That is what this spell is for.

Also, watching pets run around in circles is funny.

at lv 14 go to thunder bluff it will cost 12 silver you have to have a pet though

I use this in PvP sometimes because the tracking I have on follows my pet so I get a head start to see if Allience are coming to get our flag. If I see them, just cancel spell, call my pet back, and lay down a frost trap.

Just got banned for using this while beeing on the Stormwind wall and annoying low levels in the auction house :/
Early times in WoW, players just put their PvP flag off while beeing in the capital city, but nowadays you get banned for 7 days :(

I think it's fun that blizzard had to create jumping animations for all tamable pets for this one single ability. Pets don't normally jump otherwise, so you'd never get to see it.
