5G a pair is not an unfair price for these, considering your time and efforts, and because you are making a blue item with good stats that will probably keep a leather wearer happy for a long time.

Basically what makes these gloves a little difficult to make are that they incorporate FOUR professions (skinning, leatherworking, then herbalism/alchemy for the Elixir of Defense). And since no one person can have 4 professions, making this involves either purchasing the elixir outright from the AH, or making arrangements with someone to provide the elixir for you.

Spider's silk isn't cheap at the AH. It's considerably more expensive than thicker spider's silk because it is used for blue crafting items like this, and the Spidersilk Boots that tailors make. And since spider's silk isn't a guaranteed drop on spiders, it takes time (and you notice, you can't skin spiders, so you aren't getting that from them, either).

On our server I've seen it go anywhere from 5 to 7G on the buyout price.

My leatherworking dwarf hunter has made a few of these. I can get all the ingredients except the Elixir from drops, then buy the Elixirs for an average of 50 silver each, and sell the resulting gloves for 2-3 gold. Sweet. And of course, kept a pair myself.

I bought them over this weekend for 2g buyout. There was another set in auction for 1g 98s so I figured I might as well just take the other set at a pretty low buyout price.

My lvl 25 Rogue will be using these for another 10 levels I bet.

I sell this nice gloves on Nathrezim, and i normally get 2-3g for them.
The "Elixir of Defense" is 1 for 20-30s, but the spider�s silk is very expencive, althoug its easy to get.
Try to push the prices and make the gloves up for more then 3g...these babys are worth it ;)

5g starting and 7g is good buyout since one it took me foreever to get the skill lol two it tooke me like 5 days to farm the spider silk three the elixers arnt that cheap on ah and they are really good gloves for leather wearing classes

I have found that a good way to get the pots for these is to barter with an Alchemist.

I generally post an ad saying that I will trade one pair of these gloves for FOUR Elixirs of Defense. On my server 2 Elixirs go for 1-2g (because people have realized they are needed for these gloves) and these gloves go for 2-6g (or more). An Alchemist usually jumps on this after a spam or two of Trade and you're set. Technically speaking this costs you nothing so if you sell the gloves its pure profit plus you get the skill from having crafted 2 pairs.

Now that I have this system up and running I usually keep a spare pair of gloves on hand to trade because if not then you have to find someone who will invest a bit of trust in you by trading you the elixirs up front for nothing (first time I did it I asked for 2 elixirs up front then traded the gloves for the other 2).

This obviously doesn't get you the silk but I have yet to have a problem aquiring the silk via farming.

these sell very easy for 10-12 G so please don't be dumb and sell them for less than that on a weekend I can sell at least 4 pairs. If anyone on Deathacus wants a pair send matts and i can make em for 7 Gold. Yes i know the ironey of me selling them for 7 gold but the materials cost about that much. and i can cure the hide for you free of charge.

Real nice for the level. Look wise however, it's no different then the Fletcher's Gloves. Would've been real nice if the 1% crit was on these bad boys too eh? That would be asking too much I guess. Oh well.

....on how much money and effort you put into them I'd say. Either buying the mats or farming them, it's all relative("Time is money friend!" lol). I'd sell em for 4-6g and that's a rather good markup for me 'cause I farm all my mats. I have guildies that make me Elixirs of Defense. You do have to watch the market though. Some people tend to get overly greedy and that'll leave you room to undercut them well and still turn out a decent profit for yourself. Remember, get too greedy and you make no money.

they rip you off. find a herbalist in your guild or just on a server, they usually make for 25-30s apiece. don't get ripped off by the AH!

on other hand, you can find spider's silk at AH for relatively cheap, usually if you bid when you think it's going to end you can get some silk pretty cheap, i got silk x8 for only 1.5g :)

The only thing i have to say is these are lvl range 24-32 and paradise for all leather wearers.

my best friends brother he is a 45 and has these gloves but saw him at 35 with them to he says he got them at 23 by guildy and got them for 1g but i dont belive him an oz :p

First off any arguments about who should wear these and who should not is irrelevant. They are nice gloves for anyone that wears leather and can get their hands on them. If it was something that gets rolled on, then start arguing. I am aware that this is a response to and old argument up above, but hell... I am always late.

As for price... economies are different. I started making these on an alt whenever I could farm or buy the materials. That is, when they were cheap enough on AH. I had to jack my prices way up to match. At times, they were as high as 15g a pair. I leveled up other alts with gathering and trade skills so I would not have to depend on anyone else to make these. Now I can keep my prices lower... when the competition comes too close, I have leveled a low level enchanter and offer them on the trade channel for competitive pricing with a low level enchant. Stacked with the rest of the Stats on these gloves I have no problems with beating competitors.

Read all the commentary and just want to say that I play with a bunch of cheapskates on Vashj then,cant even get 2G per pair and mats almost cost that. Suggestions on how to improve price rec'd via AH would be appreciated.thanks feldwin.

So i went farming spiders in duskwood and killed like all of them, and out of say 40 kills/run maybe 10 spiders silk dropped, sold tons of vendor junque and then sold stacks of these on the AH and made more money selling these than the stupid gloves! again i say great gloves i just play with cheapskates!

Medium lather is simple to get lol. The Medium Hides will come as you get your leather. The Spider Silk might take a little bit to farm, so I buy at at no more than 1g a piece. The elixirs, to make 2 of these elixirs, I never pay more than 1g. Then, I turan around and sell these things at 7-10g all day lol

These gloves dont fly so well in Zuluhed, forced to sell for 2g 50s, when supplies were 2g 20s. I can reccomend Hillman's Shoulders for good profit.

My servers full of crack heads.
Elixirs of defense fetch 75s, spider silks 70-85s.
And Im glad to say the gloves I put up to day bought out in under 4 hours for 15g.

These gloves sell for 2g to 1.5g as a buy out at Auction House and they sell fast. The Elixir of Defense can be bought from another player or Action House. The Spider's Silk is known to be rare but if you let friends know you need it they will give it to you or sell it for a good price. Elixir of Defense sells for 40s at Action House and Spider's Silk sells for 25s.

Components on Warsong cost about 1g80s through AH. Gloves sell for almost 5G.

Don't know about the disenchantment the last guy said though. Large glimmering shards go for 95s on this server.

Glad i canmake then, i can get the elixer of defense quite cheap via a guild member. And the silk is also not that rare when you harvessed in ashenvale or stonetalon.

I made one with a buyout on 1g50 and was sold quite fast. Now i've put one on it with a buyout of 2g, but haven't been able to check yet :)

heres a easy way to make a lil $ from this first just farm for the silk elixar is easy to get and just make the gloves like normal then give them to an enchanter or better yet if u have an alt that can enchant or disenchant then it will work there is a 100% chance that when u disenchant this item youll get a large glimmering shard and on my server they sell for about 5g 7g buyout as to when the gloves are maby 1.5g-3g easy money :)
