My hunter is still gaining reputation from killing mobs in ZG after being revered with Zalander Tribe. After patch 1.9, that means one only need to repeatly farm mobs in the instance to gain reputation. So, it is really not necessary to use those coins. However, since the main purpose of getting exalted is for shoulder enchant, you will need 15 tokens anyways. So turn in your coins after getting revered is useful.
