If anyone is having troubles finding the guy for this quest in Kargath. He is one of the guys in the tower in Kargath. He is the one to the furthest left without an Exclamation Point. After you are done going through the dialogue he will give you a letter. After reading the letter it will give you this quest. That's all, good luck with your Onyxia quest!

This starts a long quest line that makes you spend more time in LBRS than you would ever like to spend. However, the reward is very nice and every Warcraft player should have at least one chance to see Onyxia fall. It was one of my favorite moments in WoW to date.

Also, one last tip: LBRS becomes much more bearable when you are drunk. Good times :)

Talk to Warlord Goretooth in Kargath and you'll get a note. Use it and it starts this quest.

since last weeks patch, you can no longer do this quest in a raid!
i used to think it was nearly impossible to do as a 5-man but I did it today with priest, warrior, mage, and 2 shamans. all long time friends of mine so we played together very well.

when somone picks up the documents, they spawn else where in the dugeon. if you are lucky, they will spawn in the same spot (which happened to us.)

also, make sure everyone in your group checks all the bosses for gems for the uBRS key!

I just found another reazlly useful thing for rogues to do in this quest. Once you've downed every boss (we did wyrm, then omokk, then voone), at least 1 and hopefully 2 members have the documents. With the group standing in voone's room, have the rogue stealth through the instance looking for the docs. Once he takes them, go find them again (they take about 5-10 seconds to resapwn, so stick around as they might respawn at the same place!). When you find them, destroy your docs and pick up the ones in front of you. This will make them respawn somewhere else, hopefully in voone's room where you party is waiting! We got our whole party's docs in one run by doing this, it was extremely easy.

BTW there are actually 4 possible document locations: Behind Wyrmthalak, to the left of Voone, behind Omokk, AND in that area with the ogres right after all the spiders. The first three areas are really easy for the rogue to stealth to and take docs (the boss guarding them is dead), but the last one may have ogres left (if you didnt kill them). If the rogue has improved sap, he can sap the ogre closest to the docs and then grab them. Since he has imp sap, the ogre wont ever agro and he can just restealth and walk away. Quest done :)

Done this a few times to get guildies through (as well as some pickups) sometimes 60's somtimes not.

To do Wyrm first enter the instance and take the normal road till you get to the second set of Dogs. At this point bypass the dogs & other mobs by taking the shortcut to the right. Dropping off the ledge that walks you over the lava.

Fight through the Invokers. Through the spiders. Bypass the foursome at the tribute pile. Fight through to Halycon. Up the steps through more invokers to Wyrm.

From there go back out to the room where the last set of invokers were. Drop into the first opening in the floor... this takes you to the spot where you fought a bunch of scorpions and a hole that leads right to Omokk. From Omokk stay on that level going out over the bridge which will bring you to the upper level of the Troll area. fight down to Voone.

Since you went from hardest to easiest the road back and forth to the areas the Documents spawn will be reasonably clear. Save for the Ogres at the tribute that pile you bypassed (if you are unlucky enough to have them spawn at that location)

Theres been talk about getting people their onyxia key. Heres the steps in order. The level requirement is the same as UBRS which I think is 58+. These are not all the quests just the major steps. There are also some short or easy quests in between I'm not bothering with since they can be solo'd.

1) Warlord's Command - Picked up at Kargath. Have to kill 3 bosses in LBRS and find the document's there that randomly spawn at one of them. Has to be done in a 5 man party. Quest NPC then gives you rewards and sends you to speak with Trall's Advisor in Ogrimmer who gives you another quest to Speak to Thrall.

2) For The Horde! - Given by Thrall in Ogrimmer. He sends you to UBRS to kill Rend. Can and should be done in a 15 man raid. Take Rends head back to Thrall for the next quest, a city wide buff, and some pretty nice rewards.

3) The Champion of the Horde - Thrall will babble at you for a bit then send you to find Rexxar. This is more irritating than hard and can easily be accomplished solo. I only mention this step because he wanders and sometimes takes a bit to locate. Here's his path: Desolace, Feralas
He sends you to a NPC in western plaugelands who is fairly easy to find - Myranda the Hag

4) Ocullus Illusions - Myranda the Hag in WP sends you to UBRS to collect 20 dragon eyes. They drop from the dragon spawn there and can be collected in a raid. Once bring the eyes to her, she'll send you to emberstrife in dustwallow marsh with a amulet.

5) The dragons - You'll get 4 quests to kill 4 named dragons from the different flights for Emberstrife. Scryer in Winterspring, Somnus in Swamp of Sorrows, Chronalis in Tanaris, Axtroz in Grim Batol.

6) The General - You'll take a amulet emberstrife gives you to rexxar who will tell you to get a drop of blood from General Drakkisath in UBRS. And since the general is likely pretty fond of all his drops of blood you'll have to kill him for it. I think most of our members close to 60 have been along for a UBRS raid so this won't be to big a problem. Return it to Rexxar for this Drakefire Amulet aka the key to onyxia's lair.

7) Victory! - dance naked in front of the Ogrimmer bank and have everyone bow to you for your accomplishment of completing one of the more irritating quest lines in the game.

Besides near the three bosses, the documents can also spawn near the ogres that come right after the spiders, where the skull pile appears...

I ended up finding the documents right next to voone in the little room. I guess the docs spawn in different locations as well as the other quest for bijou's belongings.

I abandoned this quest ages ago. Now i want to get attuned to Onyxia, but Goretooth wants nothing to do with me, say that he doesn't have time for me or some such nonsense, end of conversation. I think he's annoyed at me for abandoning it. I dont have the envelope in bags or bank either. Help please.

i ran this 5 time, documents where never there, do you have to kill them in order? we skipped around, wasnt in a raid though, and the papers wherent at any of the three, any advice?

So I got really bored this morning and tried to solo the LBRS portion of this quest with my Arms spec War.

Took out Omokk and Voone blowing 1 potion on each with relatively few problems. I'm not sure Wyrmthalak is soloable though, tried a few times and his dmg was just a bit much.

I walked right though without drawing any aggro. Think I had to kill maybe 10 trash mobs to get to the bosses total. The loot I got was worth the repair bill, but I'm still wondering if Wyrm is soloable.

I just completed this quest adn we found documents could only be picked up by one person and then were gone.

We did get lucky tho - found them at Ormokk, at the skull pile (with an immediate spawn on pickup) and again at Wyrmthalak. No documents at Voone.

So 4 doucments in one run was nice.

It's not any one specific boss, and in fact they themselves do not drop them. It's an item on the ground, like a large scroll, which will be spawned *next to* one of the three bosses when you first enter the instance. A mouseover shows 'Inconspicuous Documents' IIRC.

I just did this yesterday. The papers were at the Troll boss and both people that still needed to do it (me and a friend) were able to pick it up.

Pretty hard to do with 5 imo :)

i just did this with with war, hunter, priest, rogue, sham. took about 3 1/2 hours all 60's

we did overlord first. the doc was behind him and all of us were able to loot it :)

Are there any prereq for this quest..I talk to him and i do the dialog and have honored rep. Im lvl 58 but he doesnt give it to me.

Just to clarify, the docs can also spawn at the back of a ledge up a path just after you leave the spider area. The ledge has 4 ogres on it which you normally bypass because you take a hard left up the hill. If they aren't at Wyrmy might be worht a look there. There's no cooldown on pickup.

Just did this with 3 others who had to do it as well. The papers respawned every time. Unfortunately, Wyrmthalak did not drop the Trindlehaven staff as i had been hoping. Still, its reward enough that after four tries, i finally kill Wyrmthalak.

After Patch 1.6 the papers seem to be at only one location: The hole party can get them at one spot.

well just did the Warlords Command with the 1.10 patch...

four manned it without a warrior
59 Druid in bear form
60 Rogue with imp sap
60 Mage
and me 59 Holy Priest

was relatively easy...almost wiped once on the damn spiders...though Arachnaphobia scared me so I might have closed my eyes once or twice during the fight and missed a heal ;) used Holy Nova with the Mage AoE as well and demolished them in no time. Presit AoE FTW!

Thought we were in trouble when we rounded the corner and say the 7 or 8 Ogres all walking around together though ended up being the easiest part...single or at worst 3 mob pulls...documents right there. Wiped up towards last boss, missed a runner and almost ended up fighting the whole instance, completed WC first run.

Would have been easier with a Tank, took longer than usually would have though still completed it.

did the entire instance in an hour, warrior chain pulls, me and priest keep him alive (thunderfury helps with aggro), and the mages go ballistic with DPS. Did entire horde onyxia chain in one day, ty to having MC/BWL guild :)

I went with a 5 man group to do this quest a couple of nights ago. Well when we killed Omokk her dropped no documents. We proceeded to Voone and he did'nt drop the documents. Well we made it right up the Wyrmthalak, and got wiped. Unfortunately when we re-entered the instance it had respawned, and we did'nt want to repeat it again. My question is can any of the three bosses you have to kill drop the documents?

did it today with 4 60's and one 55er... not too much of a problem... wiped once and had some deaths but I wount say it was to dificult..! the 55er was very happy for completing WC at lvl 55!

We've done this instance with almost the same group a couple of times now and now it just feels like grinding. Make sure you group has some crowd control, I prefer:
- Warrior
- Priest
- Mage
- Druid or Rogue
- Hunter or Shaman or Warlock

In case of a druid, you should let him heal at the start of a fight and let the priest Mindcontrol a warrior to beat up that nasty mages. Especially in wipeout ally this is really usefull.

Of course when you have a rogue, prefered with imp sap, you should get a sap ofcourse. This combined with the counterspell-sheep combo of a mage and a though tank gives you enough crowd control to demolish almost every group in a minute.

The only real though part is when you go from the wolf boss to the upper part to get Wyrmltalk. Don't underestimate this part because it's wipeout all the way if a runner gets agro from anything. Make sure to pull back as far as possible. And if you have a shaman let him save ank for this part and walk as longs as you can, because you'll have respawns in the front, once you get here (if you do all bosses).

We farmed Omokk yesterday and where able to make it to him and take him down within half an hour. You can do the 3 bosses if you skip the rest, within 2 / 3 hours. If you want to complete all quests you should think more about 4 hours.

And watch out at that spider boss, damn nasty without a sleep available.

This quest, coordinated on Vent is not all that time consuming. Our Crowd Control was a Polymorph and a frost trap, with an occasional sap. Even got a lifestone to drop too :) Took us about 2 hours, Class layout:

~60 Rogue (me)
~60 Hunter
~60 Shaman
~60 Warrior
~60 Mage

No problem, except one little thing. No Important Blackrock documents. None. Couldn't find em for the life of me. Behind no bosses or anything. I can stealth run it later, but it was kinda peculiar that it didn't even show up.

tactics : kill all the bosses (one person or two will get the documents while doing that) then reset the instance, and use mind vision or stealth to see if the docs are at Omokk's location (takes 20 minutes to get there with 5people group) if not reset instance and try again :p

Tragic... cleared Omokk - no documents. Cleared Voone, and the docs were on the floor. After one party member picked it up, it respawned again so a 2nd person picked it up... and then it just didn't respawn any more!

Are you sure it's fixed since v1.6 that the docs will just keep respawning at the same spot?

I haven't seen this on any of the Onyxia Chain guides, but based on my experience of less than two months ago, in order to get Goretooth to give you this quest, I believe you must have completed the "Disharmony of Flame" quest. You get this from Thunderheart, who is one of the KEF soldiers to the left of the Inn as you face the door. You can only get the quest when he's there, not when the KEF is on patrol. Can't recall if he has the quest symbol, I don't believe that he did for a level 60 getting this quest. This quest involves killing Overmaster Pyron outside the entrance to BRD. When you turn in the quest, you'll get whispers from both Warlord Goretooth and Galamav the Marksman, telling you to come see them on top of the tower now you're "proven" yourself.

This quest requires Friendly reputation (or better) with Orgrimmar.
Otherwise Warlord Goretooth will not actually give you the envelope that starts the quest, even though speaking to him would make you think otherwise.

I dont know if its a glitch or what cause i havent seen any1 with this problem. Can any1 pls tell me if you need a preqest or have to be honored somewhere. Cause i am a 55 druid in alexstraza and i cant seem to get this quest from goretooth. I had the convo with him and he never gave me anything . please help really starting to get worried.

To pick up this quest you need to talk to Warlord Goretooth who resides in the tower in Kargath. He will not have an available quest exclamation mark above his head. Go through the dialog and he you will have an item in your inventory. That is what starts this quest.

You might not see some ! if your level is too high because some quests can already be started under level 50. So you might need to talk to the quest givers directly to see if they offer a quest.

Don't be an idiot like me. I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out why I could not pick up this quest after speaking to him. Turns out he gives you a letter in your bag and you have to click on it to accept the quest. I was going nuts until I realized this.

To get this quest, you have to talk to Warlord Goretooth and click through the white dialogue text.

He will then give you Warlord Goretooth's Command that you can right click to start the quest. :)
