let's get this straight I don't care about my bonuses but I care about my !@#$ing looks....
I love this new direction for gear. It looks awesome. Not overly flashy or with massive parts, just a functional, yet beautiful set of armor. This is what armor should be focused on in the future, not the dramatic clown suits.
This looks like leveling gear, lol. GG Blizz. Great use of them extra resources you have now that you're making 1/3 of the armor sets.
I bet this was one last gift from Argus. "You thought this sword was bad? I'll give you this terrible looking armor for the first tier of the next raid! HAHAHAHAHAHAH"
Another !@#$ty mail design. Rip hunters and shamans.
Good armor for roleplay.
Keep in mind that the good stuff won't be in the entry raid, but likely in the last raid of "tier 22".
it really doesn't look as bad as you all are saying, except the helmet, the helmet looks like trash.I will say tho, class sets are way more satisfying than this.
I can't say I'm all that surprised about not having class-specific tier sets anymore, and sadly I don't think we'd be missing much anyway. The Emerald Nightmare/Nighthold sets were very good overall, the Trial of Valor sets were interesting and made sense for the raid, but the Antorus sets were very hit or miss for me. And don't even get me started on the laziness of the old, recolored Tomb of Sargeras sets. Legion started off great with those first sets but I really felt like they were running out of ideas as the raids went on.As someone else said, one of the only incentives for me to step into a raid is to collect transmog gear. If this new system means that I can collect parts of the same sets across every character of that armor class, I can't really complain too much because that will make collecting sets a lot faster and easier. But that's also assuming that I actually WANT the sets in the first place. This is only the first set we've seen, though, so I'm going to try to keep an open mind until we can preview the sets in the dressing room properly and see how they'll really look on our characters. I do think that removing class-specific sets is a huge mistake, and with Blizzard's emphasis on class fantasy I will be genuinely shocked if there's no other way to get class-exclusive sets in BfA. (It's also extremely unfair to Demon Hunters, who have very, very few of their own sets to begin with.)
The mythic set looks good to me, but it is something i wouldn't wear on a hunter or a shaman. For a hunter I like to wear hooded clothing, most of the time Blizzard has a scavenger theme for hunters but honestly I bet the ranger theme is more popular (at least it is to me). Shaman gear should feel tribal, with masks and tribal trinkets hanging on the belt of chest straps. This gear feels like something I would wear on a plate wearer (minus the helmet) like a paladin or a warrior, but not on mail wearers. If they want to create gear themed around a raid instead of a class they should still consider who will wear it. If it does not fit any class at all like this set does I feel no one would wear it at all. Of course this is all my personal opinion and it might become very popular if they animate the gear or add special visuals.
Neither Emerald nightmare or highmaul had class sets and sort of boring armour so commenters need to chillout abit its the first raid.
Why am I reminded of the MoP leveling armor?.... the color variants are ugly except maybe the mythic one. :/
Blizzard: For BFA we're gonna make better tier sets designed with the raids in mind! *Makes a trash questing set*
But why.
Well, they're not hideous. I'm glad as a mail wearer, that there no skulls, naga heads or any other kind of visible *animal parts* on this (even though I'm a hunter). However, here is an example of yet another helm appearance that I will be 'hiding'.
This is ridiculous. This set looks like dungeon gear, how could this ever be fit for a raid? We need a return to armour designs based around our class, it was so much better when the armour was designed around both the class and the raid.
this armor set does not please my personal aesthetic, and the lack of tier sets makes me worry that only 1 gear set per raid will be available (aka no off-set tier pieces to work on other sets if you find your primary class tier ugly). hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.
