are those sets(from allied races) only for race/fraction or they are available for all chars? i want that void wings for my orc shammy...
Those particular void wings are just for void elves.
Non-class-specific tier sets may be the first thing I've heard about this expansion that I do not like.
I'm not excited about this. Trial of Valor and Crusaders' Coliseum had some of the worst sets, that were limited to type instead of class and tied to the raid they dropped from. I don't like wearing uniforms, I like being my class.
Is the void elf wings from armor set?
Seems lazy to me, gonna miss my kick ass lock sets
While this logic makes sense for why they want to expand the design space in general, it slightly falls flat when you consider classes such as Demon Hunter, who haven't been around long enough to actually get to the point where you're just figuring out how to make a "Priest set for the 21st or 22nd time." I know they will likely return to class sets in the future, but this really makes me kind of disappointed that Demon Hunters will have to live with only the Legion sets tailored towards them whilst other classes gets the variety of Racial Options (Especially in that of the new Allied Races) and also a wider array of class-themed armor.
They should have the same mindset they normally had for tier sets, just not include the bonuses. Should have unique looks that are class specific and different tints depending on difficulty level. No reason not to do this unless the art department is running out of ideas.
well as long as in not a so distant future they make legacy armor for the other races, then it is coolim still waiting for that spellbraker set or the trunk of the taurens in the first cinematic for example
This saddens me greatly. First we lose tier gear and now we are losing unique class looks. For legion, a xpac so obsessed with class fantasy to jump into BFA and remove the class specific armour sets makes no sense to me. I dont care that we lost tier sets, thats whatever. We basically get customizable tier sets with our Azerite pieces. However, I am not looking forward to every druid, rogue, monk, and demon hunter looking identical this entire xpac. This sounds just like the art team is getting incredibly lazy. They do such great work, I hate to see them just make one set per amour type and call it a day.
I don't necessarily have a problem with this. My mage, shaman and pally have long term transmog sets made up from numerous sources that I'm pretty happy with. I can't say that any of the recent tier sets have inspired me either.
Blizzard already tried armor type sets instead of class sets. It was called T9 in Trial of the (Grand) Crusader. It was also called the pieces of crap LFR "tier" in WoD. That didn't go over well. Why does Blizzard think that will be accepted this time? Only time I remember Blizzard got away with it was in Sunwell but so few players did it when it was current so not as many cared. Blizzard at least had multiple colors for the Sunwell sets, though. You'd think Blizzard would know the definition of insanity by now. They keep trying the same crap over and over with different paint.Guess we'll see what Blizzard's idea of variety is. Going from 12 class sets down to 4 for a raid tier is losing variety. Unless they mean 4 sets and then 3 colors of that set in each difficulty which would be 16 sets ... when we would have gotten 48 previously. Can't say I was impressed with the variety given for weapons with artifacts, either. My shaman went from being able to use a staff, mace, axe, and main hand and shield to just a fist weapon and shield for elemental/resto. Having 24 variations of the elemental and resto artifact didn't make up for losing the variety in weapons. And technically there was only 6 versions with a bunch of recolors. I wasn't convinced removing flight made the world more interesting, either, which was a promise Blizzard made back in WoD.I'm skeptical. Blizzard tried this crap before and most of the sets just looked like low level quest gear or, at best, dungeon gear. Given Blizzard's track record, I'm taking this with a VERY large pinch of salt.
I really worry about y'all's reading comprehension who are complaining about this. People aren't all going to look the same, there will be MORE different sets available than if they had gone with class-based sets.
