As a part of their
2025 Yearbook
, Blizzard shared some interesting stats and summarized everything that they released in 2025. Specifically, in their Season of Discovery section, Blizzard states, "
we got cooking on the long-term future of WoW Classic... π
".
What Players Want From the Next Version of Classic
In addition to the mention of
the long-term future of Classic
, there appear to be several
plus signs
sketched on the right side of the page. Could this be a clue that Blizzard is currently developing Classic+?

Didn't they already cook long term future of WoW over the past 20 years? What's the point of developing 2 whole separate mmo's? If it's something like SoD fine but if they are actually putting real work into Classic that's pointless, just put more content into retail which is the main thing that makes you money.
Its pretty apparent that the Classic side of WoW is also quite popular and since these games are very different in story and gameplay I dont see a reason why they shouldnt. I dont think players like the seasonal aspect of SoD, at least I would much prefer my character going on further travels.
