SoD will not be progressing beyond phase 8. (Reading comprehension is hard for gamers, and has been since 2005).In the blue post talking about phase 8 coming out on april 8th, they straight up said "Sod culiminates with phase 8 releasing on April 8th".Culiminating.. hmm.. what could that word possibly mean? Because, in a space where text is our only form of communication, words, spelling, and grammar matter.It basically means "to climax", so there you have it. The last major phase update for SoD. (I'm sure they'll continue to patch things, but it'll be the last phase)

Why are we having a classic reboot? Can’t you make a new character on the original Classic vanilla servers anymore? Or have they all been upgraded to wherever they are now?I haven’t played Classic in ages, sorry not to know.

And what about SoD stays “at its climax” (p8) for the foreseeable future just like classic stayed in its final phase until anniversary realms were announced and players are offered a choice to clone their character onto tbc anniversary when it opens (not tbc sod) such that you maximize player base for tbc with anniversary players + sod players who want to join.That’s exactly what happened in 2021, the main lesson was : don’t forget to clone your character.
