I for one would welcome this. WoW is past the point for some of leveling being enjoyable content. I've personally leveled over 20 characters to level caps during each expansion and to be quite honest, I'm sick of it. The game does not start till level cap for me. If this is a sale option, id assume the costs would be high and the account might say require 1 level 100 before multiple purchases could be made. This will do nothing to the game but introduce more level capped players, and this is not a hard game to learn how to play. People already pay in-game gold to have characters power leveled through mob farming anyway.
The sad thing is that a huge portion of the playerbase consider the endgame to be the actual game. Levelling is just some annoying speed bump in the way of getting to it. Personally, I actually prefer the levelling and exploration elements, although I know that if you're going to do nothing but play this game for year after year, you'll exhaust those elements. The problem is, you'll also exhaust any fun to be had with repeating the same instance endlessly as you raid, even more so if you can skip straight to it.
Revenue for the game doesn't come from people who want to be doing old-ass content for days on end. It comes from people who want to experience the new stuff. With all the rungs the leveling ladder has now, people would be less inclined to make alts, join their veteran friends in the game, or try it out solo if they 100% had to drudge through passe content that was all but abandoned.Blizz is doing the generous thing by offering this level boost. They are doing the smart thing, business wise, by charging a small extra fee to have access to it. It's not unreasonable - as many people think it's too generous as it is - but it will put significant cash in their pocket.
"Experience the new content without having to trudge through what for some people can be months of leveling."What is the damn point in playing World of Warcraft then? It is like buying a game such as Assassin's Creed for example, only having to do the last mission.Stop trying to earn money Blizzard, you are losing subscribers because of things like this. Sure you will gain subscribers also but the loss will be even more greater.
Complaining about optional content designed to make leveling faster? There should be an achievement for that.
Blizzard has always had ways to "cheat" your levels up with recruit a friend and the free 80 from scroll of resurrection. I'm not honestly expecting to see many people who have never played this game before now to instantly invest however much it costs to get a free 90, level it to 100, then ruin raiding with lack of skill, it just sounds ludicrous to think a free 90 is a game ruiner in any way. I understand the bad taste it leaves in the mouth, considering i've leveled up all classes to 90 before this comes along, but whatever, let people buy their 90s, I'd be really upset if they brought this up to buying a lvl 100. I might even use it myself to get my classes up on my alliance server, instead of paying to faction swap for the sake of pvp
Eh, I think it is 25% for leveling, roughly 35% for pvp and 40% for PVE(leveling is not the same as instances/raid/endgame content).
Have you considered whining like a little girl? Oh wait I see you have :)
This is mainly for new players. Its a lot of work leveling to 90 (or 100) with everyone else ahead of you. Then youre a couple weeks or months behind on gear. Throughout the entire expansion you'll be behind the curve. This makes it so you have 1 character that can be somewhat current right out the gate. And the professions are free IF youve already put in the effort of leveling your boost most the way. They arent just handing it out. If youve been playing for a while it lets you skip all the boring questing youve done half a dozen times. If youre new to the game it lets you keep up with the veterans a bit more and experience what end game is like. They still have to level their other characters all the way through. This boost just puts them in the content and get a foot in on the economy faster.
What's this about the Tyrael's Charger? if they're going to make it available for purchase or something like that i hope they give something else to guys like me who subscribed for the annual pass... it would be totally unfair if this "exclusive reward" becomes an item anyone with $30 can purchase... so i'm going to say it... Tyrael's Hilt for annual pass subscribers!
Bad idea. It is unfair for people that hardly pay to game time codes. For example me. In my guild they need ranged dps . And i opened mage for it and leveling. Then one guy will appear and will say hey i just got my 90 mage help me for item build. Is it looking well? No...
A lot of people complain, but let's see if the same people won't avail of it when it hits live servers. XD
