Would someone please explain to me how this works? I looked at the tooltip for vampiric embrace, and its not in any buff class, (magic, disease, poison, etc.,) so does this mean that as a shadow priest i would have to dispel it myself, and when i do, then the affect is applied? That would have to mean that i would be feared too... I dont know... I guess i might see how this would be usefull in an arena situation but im still not sure.

Let me ask is it me or could this talent really mess with groups? If I understand what I am reading then when this procs it could send mobs running for the hills... Can I say pull some other groups please? Or am I way off base and not understanding how it works?

It's a good move that the Vampirc Touch dispel horror effect no longer has any DR. I remember i would just dispel all the shadow priest dots when i don't see much danger. Each time i dispelled Vampiric Touch meant it lasted half the duration each time, until i could just spam dispel it for 15 seconds until diminishing returns reset. Furthermore, i can't recall but i think it even caused DR on Psychic Horror.

Now though. It will always last 3 seconds, no matter how many times you dispel it. It can still be worth dispelling sometimes, but 3 seconds is all it takes for the enemy to add extra CC to those 3 seconds, and then maybe those extra 3 seconds was all it takes for them to get a kill on your teammate.

The AoE aspect of the horror effect makes it even more of a worry when you dispel it. If any teammates are around you and they were just about to line up a kill, they're going to be very angry at you! I was in a BG where a priest right next to me continually dispelled Vampiric Touch causing this debuff on us. I was a holy paladin, so this "friendly" priest was CCing two of our own healers... repeatedly...

So in the end, Vampiric Touch is starting to have decent dispel protection!
