This is used in Shadow Oil (4x Fadeleaf, 4x Grave Moss, 1x Leaded Vial) which is then used for Greater Shadow Protection Potions (pretty much a necessity for the Loatheb fight in Naxx). I found it most effective to farm this in Scarlet Monastery Library and Armory because there's 1 spawn point in each right in the courtyard at the beginning (and then popping into SM graveyard to farm some Grave Moss as well).

A good place to farm these is in Scarlet Monastary: The Armory, when you enter just move to the Garden and there you should see a Fadeleaf spawn =)

They contain 1-3 Always, so its a nice spot to farm them as a Rogue, or simply for money ;)
Afterwards just move out and right click your portrait ->reset instance and go again, you can do this 5 times each hour so you get 5-15 Fadeleaf or 10-30 Blinding powder (Takes only 15 min to do 5 runs but you can't reset more)

Most popular in Dustwallow Marsh, Stranglethorn Vale and Arathi Highlands. Another good way to farm them is by going into the Scarlet Monastary Library and Armory courtyard and get the 2 nodes, then reseting the instances and going again.

Fadeleaf can be used to make Shadow Oil, Lesser invisibility Potion, Elixir of Detect Lesser Invisibility and Catseye Elixir.

The Swamp of Sorrows is also a very nice place to farm these. A full run around the zone will yield maybe 8-10 spawns, along with a good amount of Goldthorn and hordes of Blindweed, also very good sellers.

Fadeleaf is a really good way for Mid-Level chars. to make a somewhat quick buck. It sells for 18-20g per stack of 20 on our server. I'm a 43 rogue on a PVP server but I stilll have never used blinding powder and I've done just fine.

Bleh... 2.3 does make it so you dont have to farm this anymore in order to create blinding powder for rogues, but this was also one of my fav ways of making some sort of profit or income.

Fadeleaf can be farmed in SM Armory Courtyard and along with some various herbs in SM Cath, An Ideal to an herbalist to go in and pick the herbs and run out and then reset, Doing this every hour, Able to be picked at 160 Herbalism

This herb appears to have a preferance to spawn near the bases of trees with other bushes (non-herb bushes), if you have particle density turned down so you cant see the glittery-looty-thing then it can sometimes be hard to spot...

Western Plaguelands is definately the way to go if you want Fadeleaf, It is there in abundance along with Khadgars whisker, Goto Felstone Fields and Dalsons Farm, tons of Fadeleaf there and it respawns fast.

Patch 4.3.4

The best place I have found is the listing for Feralas (Shadebough Flight Point - puts you almost in the circle) by far, if you just circle up and back down several times your bound to pick up about 80/Hour.

One thing, you need to farm all the herbs as well it seems by doing so expedites the re-spawn.

In addition, add Darkmist Ruins to your circuit you will find tons of Blindweed as well.

1.5 hours I yielded: (58) Goldthorn, (75) Khadgar's Whisker, (25) Kingsblood, (100) Fadeleaf and (70) Blindweed.

Fadeleaf is found almost exclusively under bushes and around other plants, and it's very easy to miss, so the best bet is to have on "find herbs" at all times, hoping the little "fadeleaf" blot comes up. Sure, it's distinct from other pickable herbs, but especially in Stranglethorn, everything begins to blend together.

Where to find it -

Stranglethorn Vale - it's everywhere, and the mobs are low level. Especially in tree/mob-dense areas, it's fairly common.

Arathi Highlands - Look in the surrounding areas of the four binding circles. But of course, these places are also hotbeds for both sides, so it's best to be ready for a rogue or some-such to come at you in the middle of it.

Swamp of Sorrows - you absolutely must go here as an herbalist - blindweed falls off the trees and fadeleaf is everywhere. Very, very common.

a great place to farm for fadeleaf is in arathi highlands near the circle of inner binding, im a rogue alch/herb so, i dont sell this stuff!

instead if anyof my rogue giuldies need blinding powder i send them some, people charge way to much for this plant. its fairly common. more common than wild steelbloom, if you know where to look. after spending 30 minutes in arathi highlands i got 23 fadeleaf, and made some lesser invisiblility potions, and some blinding powder.
i dont understand how they charge soo much money for fadeleaf....

All instances have a nerf that prevents farming, if you enter an instance more than 5 times in quick succession you are banned from entering any instance for one hour... and yes this includes BGs and other instances, not just the one you were farming. Just so's you all know (My friend borrowed my account to farm for ghost mushrooms in maraudon as his herbalism was too low, after the 5th reset it wouldnt let him back in and it actually came up in chat log saying so) :(

The absolute best place to get your Fadeleaf (high-level) is Scarlet Monestary's armory. There is ALWAYS one Fadeleaf plant is the very first courtyard. If you're a rogue or druid, sneak in. If not... kill 2 or 3 guards to get to it. You shouldn't aggro otherwise.

Exit the instance, have a friend help you reset it, go back in, get the plant again, rinse, repeat. You can do this 5 times before the game shuts you out of instances for 1 hour.

Next, head over to Arathi Highlands. Near the Circle of Inner Binding (the one southwest a bit of Refuge Point with rock elementals), you can usually find a Fadeleaf plant somewhere nearby. There are also a few in bushes around Arathi, but it's rare. Lots of Goldthorn though.

Then, head to Badlands. Under almost every tree (I know, trees are rare, but they never move, so just learn their locations) is a Fadeleaf plant. Also... the backdoor entrance to Uldaman (the cave) will damn near always have a Fadeleaf plant just outside it by the rock and tree there.

These are the places I normally get my supplies of Fadeleaf. Hope it helps.

ok well I have found lots and lots when I do a run and I like to help lowbies in STV while I go for fadeleaf, I've had lousy rogues pop up and grab from me...

the best thing to do with any plant your looking for... run back and forth between known spawn spots.

Yes sm is very good for: fadeleaf, goldthorn, kingsblood and gravemoss

get high enough to grey out the cemetary and go farm there... just sit a while they'll respawn without a rest but if you REALLY must get it quickly... log out just outside the instance door. Give like maybe 3-5 mins and go back.. poof reset with no 5 enter limits

Can someone help me understand what that's supposed to mean here? The table above appears to indicate that disenchanting Moon Harvest Pumpkins would produce Fadeleaf...but that's just not going to happen.

As for pricing, blame the buyers, not the sellers. Sellers can ask whatever they want, but it's the fools who pay exorbitant amounts that are ultimately responsible for high prices. If no one buys at the prices being asked, the prices come down, regardless of rarity. THAT'S economics.

Second of all, because many of the people who want the items did not choose a profession that would allow them to gather the items themselves.

Third, and most importantly... Because you go play BG's instead of getting the damn things yourself! Then you have the nerve to gripe and complain about those who took the time out of their play time to go on uber-exciting herb gathering runs instead of stuff that is actually fun to do.

So change your profession, gather your own, or keep paying high prices to those who collect it!

Ok I agree that it shouldn't be 20g a stack. I also agree that it takes alot of work to get the high enough level, and time to gather this herb. But what I don't understand is why people argue. If you think that this herb is not worth 20g a stack the logical thing is not to buy it. No ifs, ands, or buts. If you think this is a good price then buy it. But if you think you can do anything about it, you can't. Rogues NEED this item. Sure you can win a fight without it. But theres other rogues that will win 3 at a time with it. It is an ability, just like teleport, and Blessing of Kings, they all have Reagents. This is only expensive because of the fact that it isn't the easiest thing to find, not everybody can find it, and you can't buy it from a reagent vendor. So don't complain about the price, If you were a herbalist and had a stack of these I doubt that you would put it in any less than 10g.

I was gathering Mageweave Cloth to help a friend raise tailoring, and I discovered that Blinding Power can be found in the lockboxes you can pickpocket off the pirates in Lost Rigger Cove (South-east of Gadgetzan in Tanaris). I did a test, and this is what I came up with:

Out of 100 pickpocket attempts, 61 had lockboxes. Rogue related contents (not including money or other items) of the lockboxes were...

19 Essence of Agony
14 Dust of Deterioration
11 Blinding Power
11 Dust of Decay
2 Fadeleaf

It took roughly 70 minutes to collect this data. Averages out to be 1 Blinding Powder every 4 minutes 30 seconds.

Overall, not a very good place to "farm" Blinding Power, but if you don't have any other way to get it (herbalism) and you don't have the money to buy it, it might be the next best thing.

Note that the drops will probably becomparable on all Sturdy Junkboxes. I merely used Lost Rigger Cove for my testing.

Why you see the price is so high is because this stuff is in such high demand; Whenever the price is lower then usual -- it's sells instantly. I have been able to purchase fadeleaf for about 40s each -- but at very early hours. I've also lucked out with bidding very low and winning 1 or 2 at a time (again usually in the wee hours of the night.)

As a rogue - blinding powder is a must for PVP. Seeing the cost of Fadeleaf was so high, I dropped Engineering (which was at 260 at the time) -- switched to Herbs + took 5 hours building up my herb skills. You only need 160 to pick Fadeleaf, which I found in Stranglethorn and Swamp of Sorrows. To me -- it's well worth it.

On my server there was 1 main supplier I bought my fadeleaf from in the AH. A month ago it was costing me 6g a stack. A week later is was 8g. A week later is was 12g with a couple others with lower prices. Now the average cost is about 15-16g a stack from the same person and there are 3 or 4 other regular suppliers on there around the same price.

Luckily I decided a while ago that 8g was too much to dish out all the time so I started a warlock herbalist before the price rose further. I now have more fadeleaf than my rogue can handle but I definitely won't be selling it in the AH for the amount they're charging now.

yea, this stuff has gotten WAY overpriced on the AH lately. For something so easily gotten it's way too expensive to buy off the AH. Much easier to get it yourself or have a friend do it. on Stormscale it's going for about 30g/stack

One thing I find funny is everyone complaining about the high price. But we who gather herbs are waisting our game play to do so, thats our main source of income in the game. When we go to buy other things like weps, armor we don't get a break everyone else is charging top $ for it. My son told me no one would pay 30 gold for 20 truesilve bars, but guess what with none on the auction someone did. When supply is high prices drop, when it's low they go up just like in real life.

herbalist rogues, just stealth into scarlet monastery. fadeleaf can be found in the library and armory, goldthorn and liferoot in the cathedral, grave moss and kingsblood in the graveyard. reset and repeat, easy.

and if you can be bothered, pickpocket everything along the way and find blinding powder in the junkboxes.

This herb is a must for rogues. Thus it will always be in demand. Therefore there will always be someone to buy it. 1 Fadeleaf = 3 blinding powder , thus you only need 7 Fadeleafs for a stack of 20 blinding powder. Because of these numbers if you can corner the market 1 Fadeleaf can sell for as much as 3g each. Good luck.

Wow didn't find any fadeleaf in Swamp of sorrows and I circled it multiple times as a level 56 Shaman. I didn't aggro anything. A lot of Liferoot, and blindweed. I've been in Stranglethorn for close to 45 minutes now and finally found my first fadeleaf at the cords 46,20. A lot of other herbs though here around this level. Goldthron, Khadgar's Whisker (Skill:185) , Goldthorn, Wild Steelbloom, Kingsblood(Skill: 125), Liferoot. Also, Purple Lotus (Skill:210).

In stranglethorn vale, up a bit north from BB, you can usually find fadeleaf and khadgar's whisker. You can also find wild steelbloom and other herbs. I usually go there, but if I'm in SM (not often anymore,since I don't get exp from it or good drops) I make sure to get the herb from armory. I won't go and reset all the time, just go in once or twice. If you're going to another instance, ex mara after that, and you can't enter and instance for another hour, well, tough luck.

I was noob and did just that once right before Zul'Gurub..

The Medicine Men in Kurzen's Compound, notice they've got a 7% drop rate. I just farm that whole camp for a little while and quickly get enough to make a stack of blinding powder.
