A questionable talent.
For most builds this would be mutually exclusive with Imp Imp, and the Imp is used nearly universally.

However, the effect on the VW's aggro-capabilities are startling. With that being said, it's still a pet taunting, but he actually can intimidate a Hunterpet or a Felguard with this talent, in aggro.

At least my specced Voidwalker outanks my specced Felguard. With this + the other talents, the Voidwalker becomes a "viable" (add salt to that) offtank for heroicmodes, and can maintank normalmode instances (yes - he can. It's not easy, but been there done that, it's possible).

However, always remember it's a pet you're talking about, not a player. A good pettank is still about on the level of a bad playertank, only smarter. :)

Can someone with that talent confirm or deny that it affects the Shadows Consumed buff the voildwalker receives from rank 7 Consume Shadows? If so, that's increase his attack power by 260, and combined with the improvments made to taunt, it would seem he would become the tank pet for the warlock.

Don't forget those that pvp will welcome the sacrifice ability as it shields you from those pesky rogues that sneak up on ya, great for outlasting players, can either make or break.

it wrath this should also increase the effectiveness of the felguards demonic frenzy by 3% O.o.

Edit: the 3% i was talking about is not just 3% wich would make the power of the felguard increase to 53% lol, but reach 80% on the felguards demonic frenzy so instead of 50% it be 80% not bad if i say so since i respeced and tried it on the ptr which was quiet nice but you never know until we get all the "scientific" facts.

Amazing talent for people who use the Felguard or Voidwalker. I use the FG a lot more than the blueberry and I have to say, he gets a LOT of AP. Raid buffed my FG has around 4-5k AP, add another 80% to that and you're looking at a truck, and not just any truck it's a freaking Semi.

Concerning the +30% affect to Consume Shadows, does this also apply to the stealth detection given while the VW is channelling the spell? The base effect is +40 stealth detect (8 stealth levels); does this increase to 40*1.3 = 52 stealth detect (or just over 10 stealth levels)? Or does that simply apply to the amount of health regenerated?

ok just tested this for 1 hour and results are just plain AMAZING!
each TP u put here Gives ur Felguard 259 AP, atleast my Felguard, this may be different depending whats ur SP is, (im pumping 2722) so if u put 3 TP's here ur Felguard will get 259 APx3 thats 777 on 3 TP's!

I never though this was worth 3 TP's, but after Fully upgrading my Felguard with Glyph and all TP's, he crits for 2100+ and his cleave do another 2200+ so ur looking 4300+ when he does both at the same time (thats if they both crit) its just F*cking amazing!

the 259 AP is when your Felguard is Fully Frenzied (10 stacks/50% more dmg)

Does this mean it goes from 5% per stack to 8% per stack? Meaning 50% ap at max w/o talents and 80% with? or does it mean the 50% is increased by 3% meaning 53% max? stoopid question probably but better safe then sorry

I'm currently playing a level 78 Affliction lock and farming the battlegrounds for fun. I have 14 pts in demonology and this is much more beneficial then Fel Vitality (the talent just to the right of this one).

Sacrifice: The shield absorbs 30% more damage, and the voidwalker takes no more health loss from this as he would without the talent (about 10-11%).
Without talent: 6750 damage
and With Talent: 8853 damage (a little over 10k at lvl 80)
- Absorbs 4x the amount of a lvl80 priest's bubble!

Suffering: Slight improvement to the chance to hit debuff. Same AoE taunt.
Without Talent: Reduces chance to hit by 10%
and With Talent: Reduces chance to hit by 13%
- Basicly ALL melee classes will hate you for this.

Consume shadows: The voidwalker heals more, and the stealth detection level seems much higher. (I could spot a lvl 80 rogue in stealth from almost 15 yards away. Keep in mind I'm also 2 levels lower then him. Swapped spec and I could not see him until I was closer
Without Talent: Heals for 3468
and With Talent: Heals for 4509
- Extremely handy if you use it often (dueling or drinking for example).

Torment: Seems more effective when attacking NPC's. He holds aggro a little better. (I only use it on other warlock demons and hunter pets in BG's)
- Soloing NPC's just became twice as easy.

In conclusion, I would say from a pvp perspective that this is an AWESOME talent to consider if you're trying to get enough points to get Soul Link. Most warlocks I've seen go with Fel Vitality instead, which is still ok, but not as beneficial in my opinion. Yes, this effects your other demons as well, but like I mentioned at the top^ I use my voidwalker 90% of the time. If you're still wondering if you should use this, just ask yourself this question: What good is 3% more health & mana if you're not alive to use it?

I've just hit lvl 80 and figured I would come back and edit this again. As a lvl 80 and pvping quite often, I do find myself using the fel hunter & even the succ more often now. While the Voidwalker is great for the shield, you really don't need him that much unless it's against melee or you know there's rogues crawling around. Soul link works just the same with the other pets so you still take less damage :)

Leaving this comment while I am leveling and am a 38, mostly Affliction specced in Classic TBC. I respecced to take a few talents off my Aff tree and go into this, hoping my VW would keep aggro better. I figured 30% better thrat from his main threat ability, an improved backup taunt in Suffering (when an enemy resists his Torment or I need AoE coverage) and I have to say I don't notice the difference except possibly one time when he had 3 mobs on him and I was able to AoE taunt them and then focus them down 1 at a time to dump all my mana. I even dropped 8% shadow damage from Shadow Mastery 4/5 to take this, as well as lost the 10% from Improved Curse of Agony and still just putting on Agony, Corruption, Siphon Life then Life Tap twice and Drain Life. That's about my go-to when pulling a single mob. I got why I was pulling aggro before with his taunt 30% weaker than it could be from talents and my damage higher, but after respeccing into this all 3 ranks, it's just not worth it. The same rotation is pulling aggro at about the same time point every time. Frankly, if it's going to get the same results, I'd rather have the extra damage to kill things faster and be more efficient in dungeons. Possibly if I'm just going for quickest kill time with DoTs and Shadowbolt, he'd hold aggro better this way, but doing a rotation that's meant for longevity and reduce downtime while I Drain Life and DoT another mob and fear him, etc. the VW aggro was good enough for that anyway but my damage was higher.

tl;dr: Talent isn't worth it if you're going Affliction and certainly not worth the shadow damage lost from not putting 8 extra talent points into the Aff tree.
