Esta arma vem ganhando versões novas a cada ano, sendo esta a terceira:

É um boa arma para um personagem que acabou de chegar no nível máximo, mas ela sempra acaba sendo deixada de lado por alguma outra arma com mais intelecto, já que esta não possui nada além do poder mágico. E o efeito de "Uso" que é bem legal.

Entretanto, com a opção de transmogrifar outros cajados neste, eu fico muito triste de ter apagado minhas versões desta arma. A próxima versão com certeza ficará na minha bolsa.

I think I figured it out: It has directly been upscaled from the iLvl 232 version; but Blizz seems to have forgotten that they did remove intellect from all caster/heal weapons in prepatch 4.0 and "reforged" it into spellpower for balance reasons. (It was no problem since WotLK was practically over and 4.0 delivered game mechanics of Cata.) Cata-designed staves however have intellect AND spellpower stats again. But this is an upscaled interim solution, an compromise which once worked at iLvl 2xx with prepatch :(

Edit: Find it amusing how they actually did not fix the bug and now call it intentional feature instead.

It looks absolutely amazing, but as of writing (4.2PTR) this staff is terribly itemized. Compared to the other 353 caster staff, Legado de Arlokk:

Equipping this over Legacy of Arlokk will make the following stat changes:

-323 intellect
-215 mastery
-8 haste

+207 critical strike rating
+216 stamina

Seeing as intellect is the strongest stat for most DPS casters, or at least better than stamina, you'd be much better using Arlokk, or even possibly a 346 staff for that matter. It really is a waste of such an amazing model...

Seeing (as of current writing), the only other drops from Ahune at 85 are 353 cloaks, and considering the new 4.2 Thrall questline gives you a free 365 cloak, there really isn't any desirable loot from the boss, unless you just want to look amazing or get a cloak for your off-spec, the staff might be viable for PvP though.

for balance druids (and im guessing most other casters) this item ranks below the blue staves out of the old heroics.

imo blizzard needs to add int to this or its going to be nothing but a RP weapom. or equipped only for the looks and on use effect.

This beauty can be obtained from Satchel of Chilled Goods, a reward you can get once a day for defeating Lord Ahune after you queued for the battle via the dungeon finder. The chance of looting one from the Satchel is high enough to assume you're likely to loot more than one during the festival, provided you queue for Ahune battle every day.

However, this item is unique, so you won't be able to loot it from the Satchel if you already own one. A good solution is to sell the one you already have to a vendor for sweet 41g 92s and loot another one from the Satchel. For that reason I'd not recommend putting an enchant on the first one you get.

its 11 more stam than the 391 Runestaff Of Nordrassil (the last epic version before Dragonwrath)

i know its severely lacking in INT, but still, this things a bit hectic for alts

Though the stats aren't beautiful for any class, this staff is quite powerful for even a feral druid tank for how incredibly easy it will be to acquire.

Cept your DPS (and thereby threat gen) will be abyssmal, cause all caster staves do about half the DPS of a real intentional weapon. Plus, no Agility (dodge), no Mastery (way too important).

Any feral using this JUST for the health, should not be doing anything raid-oriented... he should be doing his Tol Barad dailies for the polearm there, farming Lost City for the one on the first boss, or getting the old 346 blue, or new 365 epic (once a BS has the pattern from the dailies in 4.2), before using THIS.

I just received this on my lock and can say three things:

a) It looks awesome and the effect is a bonus :)

b) if you've been having a rough time getting upgrades in heroics, this one will suit nicely. If you're like me on an alt and suffering horrendous RNG for drops and don't have the ilvl for Zandalari heroics, this may well be a saviour, as it was for me (got me to 346 ilvl, so all good for raids and Zandalari's). Even with the lack of intellect, the spellpower increase makes up for it (depending on what you're upgrading from).

But, in all seriousness, DO NOT take the word of people in a comments section on whether it benefits you - only you know if it's an upgrade, make your own judgement. There is a grossly large assumption that people who may be interested in this item can successfully run ZA/ZG. Whilst it is a 353 ilvl, I would see this as a stepping stone to get into ZA/ZG or even to Magmaw, to gain a more beneficially spec'd weapon.

c) if you put POWER TORRENT on this, it will not show. The enchant will be present but you will not see the 'changing colour, swirling effect'.

It doesn't have quite as much Spell Power as 346 spell blades/staves (when you combine the int with the spell power) but it has a lot more secondary stats, I'll have to take a look at some simcrafting but due to the secondary stats it might be better than 346s, though I doubt it'll be on par with other 353 spell blades/staves.

It'd be a good idea for blizz to make this a "temporary enchant", turning your 2h (or main hand) weapon to look like this with snow active. This weapon has a model too awesome to be scrapped and stats too awful to keep, making it a looks weapon. Might as well remove the "weapon" part in that description.

Would be nice if it was made BOA. Got it on my warrior, wouldn't even have a use for it if he were a caster because I'm in raiding gear...but it would be nice to be able to use on an alt. Oh well, still looks awesome equipped w/ Kalytha's Haunted Locket

Lol I got it on my second visit there ever. I almost vendored thinking it's probably very common and suckish. But I decided to keep it because it looks badass. Anyone know any good items that could match with it and make some sort of a set? Like, a frozen hood? Or some ice clothes?

Pretty bad for PVE due to the lack of int, but I use it for PVP due to the 700 stam, it's 3k more Hp then Legado de Arlokk

Explain to me why swapping out Maça Maciça Mutilante de Massacre plus Escudo Giratório de Zulian with this staff nets me a loss of almost 900 Spell Power? Correct me if I am wrong but there is something wrong with this staff.

To mess up the itemization, or make some kind of error on an item is one thing.

But to do it so on a high-profile item during a holiday event, and then hand it out to thousands of WoW players feels like being handed a permanent little memento of Blizzard's current attitude towards the WoW community.

The blue poster's attempt at rationalization was poor. It also gives the impression that half-an-hour's planning went into the loot for the event.

If it was shiny and had no stats at all then I could perhaps buy into the "nostalgic" argument. If it was this I'd keep it in the bank for fun. But if it drops for me I will be sharding this memento of laziness.

Not good enough, Blizz.

Is the 80 version unique with the 85 version? If so will it simply show up in a bag and I just can't loot until I get rid of the 80 version or would I have to vendor my 80 version to even have a chance at seeing it? I only want it for looks, but I'd like to have the 85 version just for the heck of it. However, I'm not gonna vendor what I have just to have a slim shot at it.

I really want to try get this staff. Ive tried 3 times already and got burning blossoms. Ive only recently been able to queue and have maybe 5 more attempts to get it. Ill be very lucky if i do with the 9% drop chance.

You can get it at level 84. Level 84 is when the boss unlocks for players.

I have no idea why blizzard decided to gimp this staff though. The blue response is rubbish. It implies they carefully considered the itemization and gimped it intentionally. There is no way they put that much thought into intentionally making a terrible staff. I think they just directly scaled it, including the stamina with no thought or regard for the current mechanics or game balance.

That being said, if you get it at level 84 and wear it as soon as you get to 85 then it may serve two purposes:

1. Increase your item level so you can get into heroics quicker.
2. It may be slightly better or similar DPS than the level 325-333 staff you likely have from questing/reg instance grinding.

Otherwise it is a useless item. Unless you just want to look cool standing next to the mailbox (and next to the other mages standing around the mailbox looking cool with this staff)

Anyone complaining about how bad this staff sucks is just jealous of the lucky few who win it. If you are a caster and miss the intellect just enchant the bad boy. Fact is this is a gorgeous blade with an awesome affect. Won it yesterday on my first trip into the event, pure dumb luck. I never win anything.

I was, lucky? to get one on the bags after doing the daily kill on my hunter. Good thing I hanged on to it, will definitely be using it to transmogrify my staves with it.

Any one know the name of another scythe looking item(s) in this game? I've seen it once or twice before, the blade is green and the staff is purplish.

Facts about this staff:

-One of the best weapons that can be used for transmog.
-It does not show the enchant visuals on it, probably because of the pouring snow-ice-whatever thingy on the staff itself is implemented to override-act like enchant effects.
-When used for transmog, unlike all the other items that can have a particular enchant effect even tho it cannot be enchanted that way, this one does not get the enchant effect via transmog. (Power Torrent on an iLevel 70 weapon)
-The use effect wears off when the staff is unequipped.
-Annoys people when the blade gets in the ground.

As a side note for transmoging. Visual enchanting effects such as the red and purple fire from Encantamento de Torrente de Poder - Arma do not show up if you want to use the scythe in your transmoging set.
Very glad to not see red and purple fire on my frost scythe.

Just a speculation, but if it dropped last 3 years we can expect it to drop this year as well. I believe that item level of this year's Frostscythe will be either 384 or somewhere between 378 and 384. Majority of players already have better weapon so most of us will use it for transmogrification purposes.

I can confirm today 21st of June 2012 that this item can still be looted. A member of my random group party for the midsummer festival dungeon just looted it from a Satchel of Chilled Goods. ~ Good luck people, I sure hope I find it :)

Still 353 as of 4.3 making this a very poor choice for anyone with access to HoT. Good for transmog, though.

It seems wowhead has inaccurate data. I looted this on not one but two characters this morning. It has the same stats and on use effect.

The on use effect lasts 1 minute, gives you a snow aura, and has a CD of 1 minute. You only get one chance a day per character as it drops from Algibeira de Itens Gelados which you only get from your first kill on each character. It does not show enchants due to its own aura showing.

It makes an amazing transmog item for casters and hunters that have a staff. A good alternitive for warlocks though is Cajado dos Pecados Justificados (alliance)/Cajado do Caminho da Sinistra (horde) rewards from the level 20 warlock quest in shadowfang keep. For hunters who use polearms there are greens that drop however the drop rates are extremely low.

Edit: Hunters and other polearm users can use Ceifador do Caçador de Bruxas and Acha-de-armas de Elemêntio both from cata blacksmithing.

Had it on my Pally for a while but took up bank space and got tired of the ooooh aahhh's from looking at it in the dressing room. LOL

Have it on my hunter and use it as a taming tool for the stam and haste but as he is 85 and has all but one desired pet until MoP it sits in the bank.

Trying for it on the Shammy and Druid this year which means the DK will get it.

Man, I tried for this thing every single day of the Midsummer Event. Nothing but damn Burning Blossoms, and those buy me nothing that I want. It really sucks that you have to get really, really lucky once per year to get this damn thing... I wish Blizz would get away from pure RNG stuff like this. It's why I gave up on Archaeology.

This weapon is obtained by the satchel you receive from the daily Lord Ahune dungeon, not from the boss itself. Also a mog I like with it is http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/darkmoon-faire/karnaz/advanced

Goes well with my Rift Stalker Armor set. An any frost mage Will Go well perfectly with This item. An If you like a icey style Thats even better. Oddly this looks more like a Polearm but it is over all awesome. I was luckily it dropped an could not wait to get a Up grade an at last my Thornwood Staff dropped. An now I look Great.
