This has some interesting shared cooldowns...

It does seem to favor PvP though, as it remains useful to a fully-85 group (unless this effects guild EXP gain, in which case it's balanced). If Tol Barad remains as defense-heavy as it currently is, these will be pretty significant. Get 7-8 people on rotation with these dropping and enjoy the honor increase.

One question though. Does the item itself have a preset model, or is it a banner that matches the guild tabard? I assume the latter, but one can never be too sure.

In the upcoming patch these will also increase reputation gains. (Source.)
Also the boost will be upped from 6% to 15% - making these near mandatory to take with you on any battleground, or in rotation on a Heroic guildrun.

Let me try to answer all possible questions.

It is not consumed when used. Buy it once, use it forever.
It works on all guildmates, even those who are not in your group.
It only increases gains that occur from kills. So xp, rep, and honor gains from KILLS ONLY are increased. This does, however, extend to bosses. It does not extend to quests, either normal or daily. It does not extend to bonus honor gained from any method other than kills.
Due to the internal nature of the way that Guild rep works, Guild rep does not actually trigger on a 'kill': it triggers on completing a 'criteria'. Even if that 'criteria' is to 'kill' something in a guild group, such as a boss in a heroic run or raid, the mechanics of Guild rep means that the banner will not increase it, even from 'kills.' It's unclear if this is intended or not or if it will be 'fixed' in a future patch. Every other rep possible to be gained from a kill (including those triggered/adjusted by tabards) works with this banner fine.
It does not stack with other guildmates' banners, or other guilds' banners, etc. However, the more of your guildmates that have one, the more likely that one of you will be able to place one when the others have theirs on cooldown.
Does not activate global cooldown as it is an item, so can be used in macros fairly well. (/use itemname)

I can see the most common use of this item being plopping it down right before a boss that gives rep is killed. For instance, those who grind reps can plop this down right before a boss in a heroic run. Depending on how long the run takes they could do it multiple times in one run, or other guildies can use theirs on other bosses. This works with all tabards (except Guild rep tabards), and also works with rep from kills that don't require tabards, for instance Classic and BC raid zones which give rep. I used mine on as many Molten Core bosses as I could when I was farming it. Every little bit shaved off that grind helps.

The second most common use will be in PvP (although for those more PvP oriented, this will probably be their most common use). When defending an objective, especially in a place like Tol Barad or any place a large amount of kills occur in the same spot, plop it down for the extra honor. The banner cannot be targeted or killed by the enemy faction, but if they kill you, your banner gets removed. (The banner disappears if you go an extended distance from it, or die.)

Finally, I expect the least common use will be when leveling or grinding a rep from killing small trash mobs. Unless you're in a group with other guildies who will use their banners too, or you spend extra time and effort to stay with your banner, you will only have periodic coverage. However, since you can macro it into a spell, you can use it on cooldown without really paying attention and pretty much forget you even have it. You'll occasionally get some extra rep or xp, but it won't be a constant benefit. If this is all you plan to use it for, the item's really not worth it, but if you're already carrying it around for one of the first two reasons, you may as well use it for this too.

Oh. And it makes for good screenshots too, especially for 'first kill' screenshots for your guild's raids. ^_^

I believe it's a glitch.

The +15% rep gain doesn't seem to apply to quest reputation. However, the +10% rep gain from the weaker standard DOES (Or, at least in the last patch (confirm?), DID) apply to quests.

Additionally, I killed Ragnaros with this +15% rep banner down and gained only 220 Hydraxian reputation (200 + 10% guild perk).

I feel as though it's completely bugged, but nobody seems to be experiencing the same problems?

I did notice some ribbons pinned on it, that seem to be different between guilds. Is it just me or is it a fact? Does it mean something? Perhaps a G-ach display?

Edit: current photos on this page verify the theory since, well, ribbons differ.

Shortly after 4.2 went live, this item was hotfixed to be unusable in Firelands, so that people couldn't use it for Avengers of Hyjal reputation.

I have no idea why this was deemed necessary, especially considering that they didn't disable the guild reputation bonus perk. Or the human racial bonus. Seems inconsistent.

EDIT: In patch 4.3, you'll be able to use it in Firelands again.

In patch 4.3, the duration is being increased to 15 minutes (up from 2) and the range is going up to 100 yards (from 45). This should make it a lot more useful for farming certain reputations.

It'll also affect dead players, which seems like a bit of an odd change.

Started using Banner of Cooperation and Standard of Unity while farming MC for rep and had a question I haven't seen answered.
Banner of Cooperation, Standard of Unity and Battle Standard of Coordination show as shared cooldowns, but does not seem to be so.
I used Standard of Unity and my Banner of Cooperation CD increased by 2 mins.
However, when I used the lesser Banner of Cooperation while Standard of Unity was on CD, it did not increase.
Seems only using the greater ones increases the lesser ones CDs, while using the lesser one does not affect the others.

yes.. the banners have a 'two minute' internal cooldown between each other (like how you cant use two on use trinkets within 30 seconds of each other)

However! ... on the patch notes the Banners are now finally going to last the full 10m duration(possibly more) which will allow you to keep the banner 100% uptime within an area... which will help tremendously farming 'kill the mob' reps such as ravenholt(to honored), Skyguard, raid reps, and... steamwheedle/booty bay! ^_^

Since launch of 4.3 this Standard has the following changes:

lasts 15 minutes (up from 2)
has a range of 100 yards (up from 45)

This is great since I'm finishing up my Steamwheedle rep and Insane achievement.

Although, using it today I have noticed it had disappeared early and at random times (8 min, 2 min, 1 min). Maybe I was going out too far, but I don't think it was excessively far. I went ahead and brought with me the Standard of Unity for when Battle Standard of Coordination disappeared. During those couple of runs, Standard of Unity had not disappeared doing the same routes.

All banners (Banner of Cooperation, Standard of Unity, Battle Standard of Coordination) share a common cool-down of 2 minutes. This means that when you drop one banner, a 15 minute cooldown starts on the one you dropped and a 2 minute timer starts on the other two.

Interestingly, if one of the banners is within its 15 minute cool-down window, the 2 minutes will not be added to the timer.

To all you people that have been struggling with the issue of the flag disapearing if you move too far away from it, I was gonna use it myself in a dungeon to farm reputation and I was gonna pull mobs to it since they were more than 100 yards away from it, though when I came to the flag with a pack of mobs it was gone...so anyways I contacted a GM about this and he told me it's a known issue that they are trying to fix and it is NOT intended that the flag shall disapear even if you move more than 100 yards from it, even if you would say put it in Stormwind and then take the boat to Darnassus and then HS back it shall still be there. Really annoying bug though :(
