Indirect heals such as those received from a paladin's Beacon of Light or a shaman's Chain Heal

Each chaining of Chain Heal is counted as a separate direct heal, thus making it perfect heal for procs.
It's especially nice on one of the last chains that don't heal as much by themselves.

Procs have always been bad for healing though, the uncontrollability leaves you waiting for it to happen rather than putting something solid to use systematically. If there's a longer cooldown on the proc, I'd rather have both crit and haste instead of it.

Anyone wonder how many "friends within 10 yards" the proc heals?

Does it heal only 2 other "friends" or will it heal every "friend" within 10 yards of the heal that procced it?

Will it heal frenemies for that matter? =)

I have a question about Trauma.If you combine Glyph of Riptide ,Glyph of Earthliving Weapon and Glyph of Chain Heal would it increase shamans PPM and if yes can someone calculate some numbers?

This heals immediately when procced. So for the initial cast and every second thereafter it heals for 245 for a total of 7 ticks. Recount, wowmeters, and world of logs confirmed.

When will they learn that healers don't want healing procs on their weapons? Procs are fun, but a healing proc is almost always wasted since you can't count on the proc, so you heal assuming it won't proc--- thus, when it does, the heal is almost never needed.

What I would have liked to see is a proc that increases one's mana regen, or haste, or a "smart heal" that heals the target with the lowest health for a small amount when procc'd (like the Kara book). A healing weapon with the Kara book proc....that would be sweet. A healer's Nibelung.

Sigh, one can dream, can't one?

EDIT: Nevermind my post, this is a mace. Hunters can't use maces.

snuzzle, i agree i don't like chance to proc things on my weapons, but this actually happens on every heal. which means my FoL is now going to have an AOE heal like my glyphed Holy light. With the two set bonus from t10, and popping wings, I can heal for some ridiculous damage.

Also, the proc "Fountain of Light" doesn't seem to gain much, if anything, from +healing.

The proc on this mace is very nice.
Typically a 'healer by design' proc, is a fail, non-smart heal (IE incredibly stupid), that if it has a choice between healing the 99% hp guy and the 1% hp guy standing 1yd away, it'll heal the 99% hp guy 99.9999% of the time...
But, this is a 'heal everyone closeby' design (similar to the glyph of holy light for pallies), is a complete opposite of blizz's previous fail attempts at 'healer procs' (that weren't strict spellpower bonuses at least...). Although I do miss the on-proc bonus healing effects they tried back in the day...

But regarding the proc itself. With several rounds of having one of our friendly neighborhood druids testing it out, the on-chance proc of the ability seems to be rather high. Appears to be a standard 45 second ICD, with at proc'd within about 2-3 seconds of that CD wearing off everytime.

Would druid's, spamming rejuv on the raid, get a 1% higher uptime from the proc? Yes
Would any other healer see a sizeable difference in proc's per fight? No

Excellent Weapon, Heroic version easily BiS for all healing classes (without the legendary).

Edit:
Another note, this proc is actually 2 abilities in 1.
Echoes of Light = the proc effect on your target (that DOES gain a benefit from spellpower/bonus healing talents)
Fountain of Light = The AoE raid heal generated from the above (that does not gain a benefit)

Actually, "Echoes of Light" is the proc from Althor's Abacus. I also dont think that Trauma's proc has a 45 second icd. I've seen a second proc within seconds from the first proc which makes me wonder if it can perpetuate itself.

just wanna confirm if no one did, that this mace just like Althor's Abacus is cool for druids, they can both proc of a tick so a druid who got tons of ticks running all the time will get most benefits from this

its nice for icc hc, most bosses do much aoe dmg and there aint a cd on it so its sick for druid with tons of hots

if u have healing stream totem it will probably proc from it (not sure) making it a great asset to shammys i guess, but most use mana tide totem unless you have paladins with improved wisdom to do instead, something rare in 10mans since even if they do they will probably buff kings.

what im interested in is if the heroic version could be better than Lockjaw hc for paladin, you loose some int and haste and mp5 (sigh...) ut the proc would have 1% chance to proc of 6 targets you heal each time you spam Holy Light, which is what you spam all the time, not to mention judgement of light which will be healing all melee every time they strike the target, so if it ticks on a melee it would heal them all provided most of them if not all are balled up.

Judgement usualy counts as 15 to even 35 % of a paladins total healing depending on raid damage, i'd be interested in some feedback.

While it doesn't have an impressive allotment of stats and the proc is rarely that impressive, it still packs a ton of spellpower and intel and a pivotal yellow socket, which is great for any class. However, it's the only weapon Shamans and Paladins get in Heroic ICC25 short of Lich King (Paladins may want to look at Heroic Rigormortis, however) so it's still worth grabbing.

Got this last night on my resto druid and did some testing.

On 25H Blood Queen (raid spread out most of the time) it did 3.5% of my healing (560+ ticks for just over 100k healing). Usually I'm toward the back of the room, so not a lot of heals on melee.

On 25N Sindragosa (raid usually grouped up) it did 10% of my heals (1800+ ticks, 345k healing)....unchained magic FTL.

Simply put, the proc is so-so on fights where there's not a lot of grouping up, and absolutely amazing on fights where there is.

Great proc when grouped up. Great if it procs when everyone gathers on add on PP, also great when it procs on melee. I also noticed that the proc sometimes lasts longer than 6 seconds , the fountain target not the actual heal.

Only would replace with a Val'anyr for some fights. But i wont be getting a Val'anyr so Tramua will be my weapon till Cata most likely.

How about giving it to Shadow priests?

I've heard some guilds give Val'anyr to them for additional load of small shields. I imagine Trauma would be worth more, wouldn't it?

Does anyone know if this procs off DK self-healing? The reason I ask is that Rawr was telling my friend that this weapon is best in slot for his tanking DK.

I can kind of see it, at least for pure survivability. If it procs off essentially everything the DK does (if they have improved blood presence), that would mean everything they do is putting a HoT on themselves and the melee.

Just wondering, is there actually some viability to this, or is Rawr just being its usual...eccentric self?
