WOW! On my 70 mage, i have the Destruction Holo-gogs, the tier 1 goggles. Not only is this a nice upgrade, but before the destruction gogs could last till Cowl of the Illidari Highlord if gemmed and enchanted properly. Now, the Annihilator Holo-Gogs blow illidan's out of the water and in my opionion are end game for PvP and PvE. Lol, i already bought the primal shadows and primal nethers (with badges) to ensure i get these babies as soon as i get the pattern. Plus, the name "annihilator" is sweet. Can't wait!!!

Hey sorry to double post, but for all you casters out there, I actually wanted to compare Annihilator Holo-Gogs to the Cowl of the Illidari Highlord. When compared to the cowl, the goggles have:

+8 Stam
+6 Int
+17 damage
Same Gem Sockets (1 blue, 1 meta)
Same Socket Bonus (+5 spell damage)
-21 Hit Rating
-5 Crit Rating (-.23%)
Stealth detection and gas cloud sight.

As you can see, the goggles are better in almost every way. They only give less hit and crit rating. The hit rating on the cowl is nice, however for me, a 70 arcane hit capped mage, the damage, int, and stam are a little more appealing :P. Also, 5 crit rating is nothing big in any sense and can easily be made up elsewhere. I would take way more damage, stam, int, stealth detection, and gas cloud sight over 5 crit anyday, because as i said, 5 crit is cake to make up somewhere else. Another factor is the amount of effort needed to achieve both of these headpieces. Hmm, kill the most high end and hardest boss in the game, or buy the pattern off AH or kill a few trash mobs in SWP.... Tough one :P. I can't wait to get these goggles and enchant them with the glyph of power in shat and get the damage and stam gem, and the damage and movement increase on these beauts.

I think the one thing you need to keep in mind when comparing these goggles to other helms is that you can actually have some control on getting these. My guild has been farming Illidan for a couple months now and we've seen the Highlord helm drop *once*. Considering that I also want my T6 chest, the DPS trinket and the staff from Illidan, I decided to just take matters into my own hands when it came to upgrading my helm. Not only that, but it's DKP-free.

So far my guild has not yet seen this drop(sadly) in our SW raids, the wands seem to be a MUCH more common drop. The schematics that have dropped are currently being sold for 4-6.5k gold on Detheroc just to get a general price range out there.

I highly suggest passing the Cowl of the Illidari Highlord to a non-engineer unless it is going to be d/e'd and wait on this helm. the benefits for most raiders are:
1) Minimal DKP- Depends on how many of your cloth dps'ers are 375 Eng, but usually it is only 2 tops so it should take less bidding to win.
2)No wasted +spell hit- If you're raiding SW chances are you're hit capped, and in most cases have hit to spare.
3)Upgradeable item- Who knows possibly a 3rd tier of this item showing up in a later patch? Never a bad thing to have a piece of gear that scales with content level.

If you compare this to the (S1) Gladiator's Silk Cowl for PVP:

+24 crit
+49 dmg
+22 int
-7 stam
-34 resil

...and a blue socket instead of a red.

A handy upgrade in almost all situations -- especially for the stealth detection.

This dropped last night in our SW raid. I am the only dps caster in my guild that is also an engineer and so i got it, the mats werent too bad, while it could use some spell hit I am already hit capped so its a moot point. Anyhow im real happy about it, but the goggles look exactly the same as the destruction ones. Maybe they will change how it looks?
Anyhow it's real lame i had to get a new meta, gem, and enchant which set me back 400 gold -.-

Did you all mis the part about being able to buy this from the AH ?
You don't even have to set foot in Sunwell Plateau to get this beauty.
Just farm like an animal, hope some lucky bastars posts the pattern on the AH, buy it (prolly you already have the destro gogs), gather up some mats (buy all of them now actually) and you're set, thus becoming the new pimp daddy (beating the old record...set by you at lev 62)

With a mote extractor, those mats aren't even hard to get. The only thing you have to worry about is Primal fire, which, if you're an engy, you should have mining, and those should be easy to farm from Fel Iron. On top of that, you'll be able to buy those nethers with the money you make from the Fel Iron, or from Heroic badges. (Only 40 badges for all 4.)

This is insanely easy to make, but insanely hard to find for less than 2kg D:

Unless your guild raids Sunwell, you should probably farm money, as well as the mats for this baby. And wait for the pattern.

+81 spell damage thats higher then the lock T6 and it also does more spell crit rate 0.o lacks spell hit though but that can be made up for...need to know where to learn this plz inform

This is a very excelent helm for those who can't raid or wish to become geared quickly (This means lots of AH shopping for most), since it's stats are nearly on-par with Tier 6, and in some cases, thanks to Tier 6 now being an 8 piece set, you'd get a better deal using these goggles instead of the helm! Both Affliction and Destruction would gain from using the goggles instead of the helm, Affliction from the increased spell damage and the spell crit for Desto.

gives 1.45% crit as the goggles give 1.9% crit rating, and the spell damage for the helm is only 63, as the goggles are a whopping 81.

For a Demonology (Who was nerfed...=( ) Warlock, you'd be better with the helm simply because of the extra stamina.

The only downfall to using the goggles is you lose the hit rating gained from the helm, which is essential for Affliction Warlocks.

Everything listed above is WITHOUT enchants or socketed gems, which means that after enchants and/or sockets, this could possibly and seriously blow Tier 6 helm out of the water in most stats for DPS, but the trick is actually getting the recipe since it drops from the Sunwell, which is made for after BT and Hyjal, so in a sense it's an upgrade to after you have the helm, but since the recipe isn't BoP, lots of people will be selling it for huge ammounts on the AH possibly.

I have already made and equipped the Destruction Goggles for this so it's soulbound. Does this mean that another engineer can't make me the Annihilator_Gogs if my Destro Gogs are soulbound?

It sounds like I would still save a lot of gold by making the Destro Gogs again and have another engineer make me the Annihilator Gogs rather than buy this schematic on the AH?

Wow, nice... I'm looking out for those on ah and /2 more out of interest than because I could actually afford them.

I rolled the profession for PvP, and in s1 and s2 the googles were a nice piece of gear to carry around if you weren't very good in PvP or PvE then, this upgrade is very nice, but since the scematics were implemented I didn't see a single one ever.

Considering the price and everything I think this is one of the %^&*ed up items again. They are for high-end raiders only in a PvP profession, and go for 6k gold as I've heard (talking about getting rid of goldbuyers -.-)

These items are encuraging gold-buyers, and fail to fullfill their actual purpose imo. The dropchance should be drastically increased, to make this item less %^&*!@ed.
