This is part of the AQ40 Scepter quest, the droprate on the goggles is extremely low so be ready to run MC a few times before having it drop.

We have completely cleared MC up to Rag, then all the way back to the entrance then back to Domo (for a total of two clears in one run) twice, plus 4 other MC trash runs and still no f-ing goggles... I open my quest log probably 20 times throughout the clear plus alt+tab to check Thott and Alla to make sure that I'm not missing anything. Frustration would not even come close to describing my feelings about this after having similar issues with the Ashenvale Nighmare Fragment.

My GM was on the quest this past week and he actually found them in Domo's chest when he was linking loot for the guild. So check in there if you haven't gotten them in the rest of MC.

the majority of mc runs in my guild the loot is on group loot for trash and bosses are ML'ed. had a rogue on this quest and thought that he might not be able to get them unless it was on FFA. Can anyone confirm if they can be looted on ML or group loot.

any loot type will do.
the drop is white so should be seen by the quester.
got my red scepter shard from nefarian with ml=)

For the Hunter epic quest and they're never on the AH. I did not know they were a quest reward. So sweet. I am picking this quest up tomorrow for Wed's Core run. Woot!

We took a raid to MC the other day and 3/40 of us were on this quest.

Looting was on ML the entire raid (which was me) and as I said 3 of us were on this quest (me being 1 of them).

The other 2 guys got their goggles from trash even with ML turned on (after I had finished looting), however I didn't get mine.

So i CAN confirm the looting type used on run does NOT affect those that are not the ML getting their item.

Although not getting mine, unsure as to whether or not it was because i was ML or just bad luck. Although can hardly complain seeing that 2/3 guys got their goggles on the first attempt.

I'm just gonna put it down to bad luck, although to be on safe side i'm gonna let someone else be ML next time!

part of the Scepter quest to open gates of Ahn'Qiraj, to be exact, part of getting the blue scepter shard.

basically starts from Anachronos, but Narain Soothfancy gives the quest to look for this guy.

For anyone on this step, the way quest items work in Classic is if you have a quest item on a mob that isn't yours to loot, the only way to see it is if that player first loots the corpse. If they don't, you can miss the item entirely. With how low the drop rate is on these goggles, and how often people just don't loot things in raids, you can use the following scripts to help.

This sets your raid's group loot threshold to include Whites, allowing you to see and roll on the quest item the moment it drops. If you are the only person on the quest line, the roll panel will only appear for you:
/script SetLootMethod("Group", "1");

This sets your raid's Masterloot threshold to include Whites, with the same principal as above. It requires the Masterlooter to be attentive, but resolves the same basic problem of needing some random person out of 40 to loot each body:
/script SetLootMethod("Master","Name","1");

Well, there's some bad news and some worse news. The bad news is that I lost the goggles. The worse news is that I lost them when I was nosing around in the Molten Core last month. Yep, the Molten Core... I guess that concludes our business! Bye!
