Once you get into the Irontree Clearing you'll notice floating oil cans. Use your hook to retrieve the oil cans and then toss them at the Irontree Shredders.

I was very confused during this quest, so I'll share what I learned.

-You get close to the cans and use the lasso. Sometimes it doesn't work, just move on.
-The oil stacks up in your inventory.
-Go near a shredder and use the oil in your inventory.

That's it!

It's possible to get two credit for one single shredder, just spam the button! It doesn't even have to be super quick.

I don't understand, i'm grabbing them but it doesn't say i have any oil...

I was confused about this quest at first, then I realized how it worked. You use the hook to grab the can, but instead of it immediately applying to the Shredder, it just gets listed in your inventory. Then you just use the can that's in your inventory on the Shredder.

It seems u can't use the oil on the stationary shredders

[Three things come out of Irontree Clearing: lumber, oil, and exhausted workers. The first two are pretty much the cause of the third, but I like to be efficient about things where I can.

I've got our shredders working triple unpaid overtime, and there's really nowhere in the schedule for them to get maintenance.

Use this grappling hook to nab some of the extra oil cans floating around camp and use them to oil up the shredders, would you?]
