This quest is uncompleteable because Kherrah cannot be interacted with or freed.

Also if the quest is abandoned there is no place to reacquire it.

if you abandon the quest, you can reacquire it by killing another mauler i believe, but yeah i cant interact with the npc either

I had no problems at all with the quest.

I had turned in Not So Fast!, but not even taken the other quest yet. Could be hotfixed now.

So I put in a ticket for this quest to Blizzard. I'm a Night Elf Druid, level 37. Apparently the item that gives the quest is supposed to be a HORDE ONLY drop, and it's bugged to drop for both sides. Because of this anyone who gets it as an Alliance character will not be able to turn in the quest, which explains why some people are able to turn this in, and others aren't.

The GM wasn't able to mark the quest as completed, but it at least gave me info to put up here to help others that are having this problem ^^;

I tried to complete this quest today with a tauren priest that I created just after the Shattering. We have been doing the quests in order as my leveling partner and I came across them; we had nearly 50 quests complete for the Desolace achievement I believe. We both completed Three Princes together, and picked up Not So Fast. As we headed out of the Gelkis area the Gelkis centaur mobs that were formerly red to us were now neutral.

We got to the Valley of Spears and the first Mauler we killed dropped the item that began this quest. We both took the quest and went into Maraudon to free Kherrah. I could see the yellow question mark on my minimap but there was not actually one over her and she was red to me. I could not find any way at all to interact with her, open the cage, or otherwise complete the quest. However, my leveling partner was able to free her and complete it with no problem at all. I tried logging off and back in, abandoning Behind Closed Doors and reacquiring it, abandoning as far back as Not So Fast and having it shared back to me .... no luck. My leveling partner speculated that since I had left the zone to train after picking up Not So Fast but before Behind Closed Doors, my reputation with the Gelkis had bugged and reverted back to hostile; but after I completed Not So Fast and While You're Here without any difficulty, I went back to the Gelkis area and saw that they were all still neutral to me. I still cannot interact with Kherrah to complete Behind Closed Doors. I'm all out of ideas; hope they fix this bug.

A possibility is that "not so fast" being one of those new insta turn-in quests that you don't need to go back to the quest giver for could be mucking things up anytime there is new tech there are bound to be problems. I got the item to start "behind closed doors" on the first marauder kill and immediately accepted it before completing not so fast. maybe that bugged it if you waited until you completed not so fast and turned it in then accepted behind close doors that would allow you to continue with the quest line. Any that has done it that way please let us know if it works that way or still is bugged for you. Thanks!

My experience is nearly identical to Akatnel's. However my partner and I are both ALLIANCE, so I don't think this is a Horde-Only quest, despite what the GM may have said. My partner was able to complete this quest and acquire the subsequent one "Into the Fray" for which this is apparently the pre-requisite (quests giver is Khan Leh'prah). My partner and I did the other quests in a slightly different order from each other, but that has to be a bug. I got the "Behind Closed Doors" quest as a drop in Sargeron, killing demons; partner doesn't remember where she got it but we're pretty sure as a drop in Sargeron as well.

Fizbyn: Behind Closed Doors is almost the last quest in Desolace that I have. I already had the Desolace Quests acheivement before I got the drop for the BCD quest, and I can't complete BCD either.

hey guys, I play on thaurissan and I have one more idea on how ou can do this quest, i'm trying it out now nad i think is will work, there a goblin near the Kodo Graveyard in decolace that gives the quest https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=6134.

Somewhere in the quest text it says something about the magram so it could help make this quest doable.

I dropped the quest, went back to the Kahn in the cave for the Gelkis just because, then went and killed some more Maraudine's, picked up "Maraudine Prisoner Manifest" which starts the quest "Behind Closed Doors". Then went to the princess which is in the cave leading to Maraudon instance, but she is still red to me. So i guess the quest is bugged. I dropped the quest again, will pick it up, maybe, if its fixed.

She's red to me too, so I couldn't complete the quest. But while I was standing there (reading this) a gnome walked up and let her out! So apparently it's not bugged for everyone. I didn't quite catch the spelling of the gnome's name, so I couldn't ask how they did it. Maybe it's a race thing? Do worgens not have a certain rep that gnomes do or something?

Even without this chain, it's possible for alliance to still get the quest achievement for here. If you're having trouble, look for Thunk, Bizby, and Cork and Rigger. I'm not sure if all the quests these guys give count towards the new achievement, but that's 7 extra quests between the four of them. Cork and Rigger will only give quests at certain spots, when their caravan stops near the Magram Territory at the east side and by Mannoroc Coven in the south.

Still broken. It seems from the comments that you should not accept this quest until you finish the other 2 mentioned. I had accepted this before completing either one, and she stays red, even after abandoning the quest and getting the item from a Marauder again, or after completing the other two quests.

Talked to a GM some days ago, he said it was a known issue and was going to get fixed soon.
Two hotfixes already and nothing has happened..

Hope it'll get fixed soon because I'm eager to complete it!

I believe the problem is with Magram clan verse Gelkis clan quests. Before the shattering there was Magram and Gelkis rep if Magram rep was raised it lowered Gelkis rep and visa versa. From what I read and experienced first hand is that if gelkis centaurs are neutral (yellow) to you the Magram clan the quest giver for this quest is red and unfinishable.

I'd just like to point out that you CAN get the zone achieve without completing this quest. It was bugged for me as well but I managed to find enough other quests to finish out. If you're 1-2 short, make sure you've done the kodo caravan escort(s). Gizelton Caravan and Bodyguard for Hire. These are easy to miss as they are only available when the caravan stops on either side. I believe it's a 20 min round trip, counting stops.

I've also had the problem with the target NPC being hostile and talked to a GM about the problem. After a short talk he logged onto my character, completed the quest and accepted the follow-up for me. This solved the problem for me.

The whole process took about 45 minutes
- 10 minutes waiting for a GM,
- 20 minutes to convince him that the problem can be reduced by a simple quest-completion and accepting the follow-up,
-10 minutes for the actual operation,
- 5 minutes for some trash talk

The problem is already known to the GMs and was forwarded to the developers. If you don't want a GM to mess with your account, you'll have to wait until they patch it up in the future, however, no explicit timing was mentioned.

This quest was previously bugged for me. Was now able to turn it in. Brand new Horde character created after The Shattering. I traveled over there today, and Kherrah was yellow to me, rather than the red that she had been previously. Can't say for sure that this is fixed for all people, but definitely give it a try again, since 4.1.

Mine was bugged for me. She was red when I started the quest, so there was no way to interact with her. However, I had already qued for a pug when I got infront of her. After I got back, she was neutral and I was able to complete the quest.

I did this today, and it was not bugged, for those who are worried about that.

As it states, this quest chain starts by having Maraudine Prisoner Manifest drop from Maraudine Mauler. However, there are some quests you have to do before it will drop.

Assuming someone has not done any of the Desolace quests, this is what you need to do to unlock this quest chain:

in Karnum's Glade, Desolace (58.2, 50.0)

in Karnum's Glade
(you must turn this in to Khan Leh'Prah before you can pick up his second one)
Since the objectives are next to each other, you might as well do this and Khan Leh'Prah's follow up quest at the same time.

Next to Garren Darkwind in Karnum's Glade

You will turn this in to

Magram Territory (71.6, 45.6), he shows up after you complete the objective for

in Karnum's Glade
This will be turned in to

He is inside the cave in the southern area of the Gelkis Village (40.4, 95.6)
Valley of Spears (32, 60.4)
Once you have this quest in your log Maraudine Mauler will drop Maraudine Prisoner Manifest which starts .

If you already completed the quest chain before this reputation change, then talk to in Karnum's Glade, and he should grant you the reputation
