Another horrible drop quest.

You are looking to kill at least 30 Naga, if not more.

quest is bugged... or rather some of the mobs required for it are. There are several slitherblade sorceress (Occultista Lamasalmastra) mobs along the shoreline that you cannot attack. These mobs seem to be the only ones dropping the quest item Slitherblade Scale (Scaglia dei Lamasalmastra). I've opened a ticket with Blizz, but 2 days before cata release I think they may leave this one broken for the time being.

This quest is definetly not fixed. I just tried doing it, but was unable to because the Slitherblade Warriors werent lootable . Also there were +4 sorceres evading all my attacks.

The area where the Naga are is a frequent survey site for max-level characters levelling their Archaeology.

Can be quite bad if you're on a PvP server.

Well the quest still bug warrior are lotable and the naga too BUT the sorcerers.... still not killeable, i made a ticket but there's no answer

Had the same problem with not being able to kill the sorceress's. Getting the "evade" message.

I just put in a ticket.

About 1/3 of the sorceresses were evade bugged for me today. It's mostly the ones right in front of the ethel rethor ruins. the further you get from the ruins, the more likely i seemed to be to get an attackable mob.

Seems to be fixed. Didn't have any evade bug on me. Killed 4 of the casters, got 24 scales. No biggy.

random loot is random, but I found the "slaughter" part of the quest name to be very appropriate -- I had to commit a veritable naga genocide before getting all the drops required.

Just completed this on one of my alts and this quest is easily one of the worst that I've come across that's new for Cata. If the drop rate didn't seem to be abysmally low, it would have been fine but I was lucky to get a 20% drop rate for all the items. Cata was supposed to be adding newer, funner quests (which it did for the most part), but these Vanilla WoW grindfests are not fun and shouldn't be in the game.

I either got incredibly lucky, have a lot more patience than most, or people are over reacting to the not 100% drop rates on these creatures. No they are not 100% but they do drop about what is reported on there respective pages. The fins can come either individually or in stacks of two. The scales can come in stacks as great as eight (ended up making one pass on the beach to get my fill) and the bones are individual. The thing you have to pay attention to is what you are killing. Fins only drop for the Warriors, Scales from the Sorceress, and Bones from the Naga so make sure you're killing what you need.
