Arborcide refers to the act of killing a tree/garden. Similar to the terms homicide (murder of another human being), genocide (killing an entire people) and patricide (killing a parent).

Simple fight. Run in, spam grenade and use your other abilities as soon as cooldown expires. Stay in melee so you can auto-attack. If you get low on health, hit your new healing button.

if he's friendly to you and you got as confused as I did trying to wonder why walking up to him simply doesnt agro him on to you
you need to actually stand on him whilst in a shredder and press 1 to start cutting him down

I lost my shredder and can't seem to get one back to complete this quest.

If you stay out of range of his boulder attack, then you can just spam Grenade Launcher and Fling blade, and he wont do any dmg to you/he wont attack you.

Hmm, Ive lost my shredder on the previous quest and cant find the 'back-up' shredders, i tried killing him myself, enha shammy in heirloomgear = no problem. but the quest clearly states that a shredder is needed to destroy him, so i didnt get complete by killing him without, bummer ;(

If you want to keep the shredder to have fun with the grenades again later, you may not want to complete and not turn in this quest yet. The next quest in the chain would have been Report to Horzak, but you can visit Horzak Zignibble yourself to get more quests.
