If you're like me and want the Thistle Ring for a 20-24 Twink then you need to do the following to get this quest.

1) Go to Astranaar and get Culling the Furbolg Threat
2) Start farming Thistlefur Village furbolgs until the Troll Charm drops. It should drop after a couple of kills if not the first.
3) The Troll Charm starts the Corrupting Influence? quest which you accept. You don't need to finish Culling the Furbolg Threat to continue.
4) Complete the "Corrupting Influence?" quest by simply handing it in then accept the Worgen Wisdom quest and walk 4 yards to talk to the worgen to complete it.
5) Take the next quest in the series, A Not-So-Charmed Life. I'm guessing you need this quest so that finally the title quest in this thread becomes activated. Again, you don't need to collect a single Troll Charm to obtain "Too Far Gone".

Has anyone else had issues soloing this? I get him down to next to dead and he goes into a rage a gets me instead. Any info would be appreciated.

IRRITATING! I get to the point where he is dead, and the last of his damage hits me...and I died next to him...by the time i get back to my body, he has come back! How many times am I going to have to do this?

Ok I've done the previous quest for this guy but the drop quest isnt dropping. What Have I missed?

For high levels wanting to complete this quest. The actual quest giver is outside the cave. I just flew into the cave, without noticing him and spent ages roaming inside -_-

For any lore fans:

Not long ago our leader stole the Idol of Remulos. The demon-tainted thing ensorcelled the entire tribe and our redemption was barely delivered by a druid known as Broll Bearmantle.

This happened in the comic, after Varian and Broll escaped Thunder Bluff and flew to Ashenvale. They fought in Warsong Gulch and then came across the furbolgs.

A bit of backstory on the Idol:

It was given to Broll Bearmantle by Remulos, son of Cenarius. The Idol was connected to the great green dragon Eranikus, mate to the Aspect Ysera.

During the Third War, Broll was overwhelmed by the forces of Azgalor at the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Azgalor's sword hit the Idol of Remulos, and the massive explosion of fel energy threatened Broll's life - his daughter Anessa jumped in, saving her father at the cost of her own life. Broll's rage overcame him, and all of the druid spirits except the bear abandoned him.

Years later, around the time of late Vanilla or early BC, Broll found out from his cousin (a member of the Silverwing Sentinels) that after the Battle of Mount Hyjal, the Idol was found by the Ashenvale furbolgs. Broll and the amnesiac Varian went to retrieve it. During their fight against the furbolgs, the corrupt Shade of Eranikus manifested from the idol. Broll entered the Emerald Dream and made peace with the animal spirits, then successfully forced Eranikus back. his defeat purified the Idol of Remulos, saved the furbolgs from their madness. Broll and Varian left it in the care of Fandral Staghelm, as Broll wanted to be nowhere near it.

This next part is working from memory, it's been a while since I've read what follows.

In the book Stormrage, Fandral used the Idol of Remulos to heal Teldrassil of its corruption from the Old Gods. However, he was actually furthering it. Deciding the Idol would be necessary to save Malfurion Stormrage from his imprisonment in the Emerald Nightmare, Broll stole the Idol from Fandral's private quarters in Darnassus. Broll, Tyrande Whisperwind, and the human Lucan Foxblood came across the purified Eranikus in Ashenvale, who helped them reach the portal to the Dream at Bough Shadow in the east end of the forest.

The Idol pretty much disappears from the story after this.
